Donald Trump swapped political podiums for the putting green in a new YouTube video with his granddaughter Kai Trump, and suffice it to say, it was part golf lesson, part presidential confessional.
The 18-year-old welcomed the 45th (and now 47th) President onto her channel “Kai Trump” for a casual round at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., about 25 miles from the White House. The clip, released alongside her bombshell announcement, showed Trump loosening up about his return to power, his son Barron, and even his near-death experiences.
“It has been great, I’ve had a good time. I’ve stopped seven wars. Seven,” Trump said. “Hopefully we get Putin and Zelensky to stop killing everybody. It has been very good, the economy has been great.”
Trump, who survived an assassination attempt in July 2024 and another foiled plot months later, kind of joked about it. When Kai pointed out the heavy security presence on the course, he smirked.
“I had too many close calls, that’s true honey.”
The conversation eventually turned personal. Trump gushed over his youngest son, Barron, now studying in New York.
“He’s doing good, he’s a good boy. He loves you,” Trump told Kai.
Kai, a rising golf star set to compete for the University of Miami, seemed to hold her own on the course. The video even teased Donald Trump’s admiration for Tiger Woods, who, in a crazy twist, is currently dating Kai’s mom, Vanessa.

Donald Trump and Finland’s President Alexander Stubb have turned golf into diplomacy. A round at Mar-a-Lago in March became more than just 18 holes. It was, in fact, policy talk, friendship, and mutual respect all in one [Truth Social and Bloomberg, October 2025].
Stubb, a former Finnish national team golfer, impressed Trump immediately. “The golf really matters. He’s a really, really good golfer,” said Brent Nelsen, Stubb’s former professor.
Their shared passion opened doors to serious talks, including Ukraine and a deal for 11 icebreaker ships. Over lunch, Trump asked if Putin could be trusted. “You cannot,” Stubb replied. Be it icebreakers or birdies, the two leaders are proving that on and off the course, golf can very well shape international relationships.
