Why Your 6 Iron Goes Nowhere
If I lean the shaft back on a sixiron and then I have a neutral shaft with a 7 iron and then another neutral shaft with an 8 iron. Now they’re basically all the same club. And that’s what’s happening when you’re seeing your ball not go as far with those longer clubs. If you’re not seeing any extra distance with that sixiron more than the seven, more than the eight, it’s because at impact when the shaft is leaning back, they’re all the same club.
This short explains why leaning the shaft back at impact makes your 6, 7, and 8 irons all behave the same.
No forward shaft lean = no distance separation. If your 6 iron flies like your 8, this is the fix.

So I should lean it forward ?
I used to lean them forward but was told to stop because it's delofting the club… But now everything goes 150 yards same as my 8 and you just helped me realise why haha thank you… Twas a Bad lesson I had.
that's exactly what happened to me. I was telling my friend my 5 6 7 8 all go almost to the same distance. I was leaning backward.
The principal reason they go the same distance is not shaft lean, it is because beginners don't have the club speed to benefit from lower loft
