OPENING TEE

Saint Francis men’s golf heads to Lewisburg, Pa., for a three day event at the Bucknell Fall Invitational Sunday through Tuesday. Teams will play a round of 18 each day, completing 54 by the end of the invite on Tuesday.  The team will make their seventh appearance at this event since 2018. Competing for Saint Francis at this three day event is Toby Webb, Hunter Jurica, Lukas Cascino, Trent Meyers, Fletcher Dasso, and as an individual, Alexander McClain. Along with the Red Flash, Bryant, Canisius, Colgate, Fairleigh Dickinson, Holy Cross, La Salle, Le Moyne, Manhattan, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary’s, Niagara, Rider, Robert Morris, St. Bonaventure, Wagner, Youngstown State, and two Bucknell teams will also be making their way to the tee box.

LAST TIME AT THIS EVENT 

The last time the Red Flash competed at this event was in the fall of 2024. Saint Francis as a team placed 13th overall with a total score of 883 after 54 holes. Alex Yong led the Red Flash cardining three-round score 215. Yong had a birdie on the first nine (Hole 8) and three birdies on the back nine (Holes 10,13, and 15), helping him shoot one-under on his final nine. Yong placed in the top 20 for the third tournament in a row with a T16th place. Webb had an impressive last round of two-under par. Webb carded a pair of birdies on the front nine (Holes 6 and 7) and two others on the back nine (Holes 15 and 17). He also carded 12 birdies in the final round, placing T35th overall. Dasso (229, T78th place), Jurica (229, T87th place) and Meyers (231, T86) rounded out the Flash’s roster. McClain (242, 103rd place) competed as an individual.

LAST TIME OUT 

The Red Flash hosted its home event at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa., Monday and Tuesday. After the two day event, the Saint Francis “A” team finished in 10th with the “B” team following right behind in 11th. Toby Webb, led the Saint Francis team with a total score of 216. During his first round of 18 on Monday, he shot a 71 (+1) with 10 pars and four birdies, followed by an even second round of 70 with nine pars and five birdies. Following the final round of 18 on Tuesday, the senior shot a 75 (+5) with 13 pars and one birdie. Webb finished in 30th place. Jurica, placed in 37th after finishing the 54 holes. The junior’s total score after the third round is 218, after shooting a 72 (+2), 71(+1), and 75 (+5). Jurica tallied a 38 pars and five birdies following the final day. Cascino led the “B” team in 46th place. The junior’s third round of 18 consisted of 12 pars and one birdie. Cascino finished the invitational with a total score of 222 after shooting a 79 (+9), 68 (-2), 75 (+5) following the two days. The competitors of the Red Flash’s “A” team were Meyers (46th place, 222), Isaac Miller (59th place, 160), and Nick Haught (61st place, 237). Members that competed for the “B” were McClain (56th place, 232),  Dasso (58th place, 234), Caden Miller (66th place, 243), and Bryce VanHorn (66th place, 250).

NEXT TIME ON THE GREEN 

The Red Flash will be making its way to its final fall competition in Powells Point, N.C., for the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Intercollegiate Sunday through Tueday, October 26th-28th, at the Kilmarlic Golf Club.

NEW TO THE LO’

Saint Francis added Lorenzo Domiano, Nick Haught, Caden Miller, and Isaac Miller to the 2025-2026 roster.  

THIRD YEAR ON DUTY 
Coach Jonathan Kulas returns to the Red Flash for his third year. Kulas spent two seasons at Saint Peter’s and was also the head coach at Penn State Scranton from 2019-21. Kulas was an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s golf programs at Misericordia University for 11 seasons and got his start in coaching as a women’s basketball assistant coach at Marywood University for the 2015-16 season.
