Sergio Garcia was left off the 2025 Ryder Cup team and he’s made a change in the aftermath in a bid to get his form back on trackSergio Garcia has made the changeSergio Garcia has made the change

Sergio Garcia pulled out of the Irish Open following Luke Donald’s choice to exclude him from the 2025 Ryder Cup squad, but since then, he’s been spotted carrying a fresh club in his arsenal.

Spanish legend Garcia, who recently shared his thoughts on the 2025 Ryder Cup, was observed using the newest model of a carbon putter from Golfyr, returning to a brand he also utilized in 2024. It comes after Donald Trump interrupted his own press conference to offer a statement on Keegan Bradley.

Golfyr represents an “optimized golf experience using only seven essential SWISS MADE carbon clubs on the course.” Based on Golfyr’s description, the updated model of its putter, the Maker Tour, has undergone a complete redesign.

“Engineered for professionals and ambitious players who demand absolute control under pressure. With its refined profile and cutting-edge materials, the Maker Tour delivers the precision, feedback, and consistency required at the highest level of the game,” the brand explains.

Garcia holds the record for most Ryder Cup points in history, and while he wasn’t entirely anticipating a spot on this year’s Ryder Cup roster, that didn’t soften the blow of Luke Donald’s phone call.

“The call with Luke was fine but not the call I wanted, obviously,” Garcia shared with GolfMagic last month.

“Now, the only thing I can do is support the team from home. It’s as simple as that. I’ll be watching and cheering on the European team.”

Garcia also claimed victory at the LIV Golf Hong Kong Event earlier this year. He fired a final-round 63 to clinch a three-shot triumph over Dean Burmester.

“I felt like I was so looking forward to being a part of that team,” he expressed. After being overlooked for Bethpage Black, Garcia chose to pull out from the Irish Open.

“And so I felt like mentally, you know, mentally it was kind of tough. I didn’t want to go there and not be fully engaged in the tournament and stuff, so I just decided to take a little bit of time off and spend it with the family and do a couple of things, some things outside of golf and just kind of reboot a little bit, recharge the batteries.”

This year, Garcia secured ninth place in the LIV Golf rankings and is slated to participate in the inaugural LIV tournament in Saudi Arabia on Feb. 5. He clinched third place in the LIV Golf rankings last year.

Garcia is also set to make his second DP World Tour appearance of the season in Madrid after participating in July’s BMW International Open, where he failed to make the cut.
