Hey guys, Johnny Thompson here with
Garrett Clark. Mr. Good. Mr. Good, the man. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. We’re
at the Good Good King of the Mountain event here at Kemper Lakes. He’s getting ready to
get get a little practice session in. So, we wanted to take a peek in the bag,
look at what he’s got going on. He’s got some new Opus SP wedges, still using some TCB
irons, but we’re going to work through the bag and tell us a little bit about what you’ve
been liking. Perfect. Yeah, let’s do it. Opus SP got you guys all these new wedges. Anthony
Toronto took good care of them. Did you like that uh new custom good stamp? I did. Yeah, I was so
That kind of surprised me. I didn’t know we had that. I was shocked to see that. I was I was
I was like, “Dang, this is really cool.” So, tell me about performance on these wedges. Well,
around the greens, uh, I’ve noticed a little bit lower spinny shots, which I like. I feel like
I can kind of control them a little bit more. I always like more spin the marrier. So, you got
three scoring wedges in there. You got a 52, 56, 60. Have you always used that around those
lofts for for your scoring wedges? I have. So, I hit a shot the other day that I was I was like,
“Dang, this was really cool.” We had 50 yards like downhill high and I like hit a back stance wedge
which I don’t I don’t feel like I normally can do this but it came out so low and spinny. Just
hopped like three times and stopped. I don’t know if that’s an SP thing or I just got I hit a lucky
shot or whatever. Just that good. No, I did either I got lucky or that’s just an SP wedge thing. I
don’t know. So talk to me about like the I want to know like the technical side of it though. Yeah.
What is supposed to be the difference between the SP and the O? So, from 54 to 60s, there’s a
new spin pocket. So, we’re saving a good amount of weight. So, each each pocket is a little bit
different size on each loft, but it’s roughly 25 grams that they saved by that pocket. Okay? Moves
the CG up. So, if you look at the top of the top flange, you can see where it gets a little bit
thicker. Hides really good at address, but it’s just raising the CG. And so when you’re not using
compression to really trap the ball in the face, it just it keeps the ball from wanting to skid
up, it keeps the fa the ball in the face longer and that lowers the launch and raises the spin.
And there’s a new 17 degree pitch groove which works hand in hand. So if you have, you know,
that kind of trapdo like feeling on the wedges, you got to have really really good active grooves
to kind of counter or to complement it. So, you’re saying like when I catch a wedge shot that
I feel like rode up the face like a face rider, you don’t get as many face riders. Yep. Huh. It’s
interesting. I like that. It’s easier to control. So, you’ve had these TCBs for a while now, but
tell me about the TCBS. What What has been great about these for you? Well, I I just think like
for me, it’s like a good mix of being able to control and having good forgiveness, which I
feel like I’ve struggled to find that. like, you know, growing up I had I didn’t know this, but
I, you know, I shouldn’t have done it at the time, but I had like a set of blades. Mhm. And then,
um, you know, kind of like messed with those um, and felt like, you know, this is great when you
hit it right, but just not so good when you hit it bad. And I felt like this is kind of a happy
medium where I feel like I can control it. I can work it, but it’s also got the forgiveness factor.
Y, it kind of one of those things. It’s like the best of both worlds. I don’t think there’s
like that many cons to a club like this. Yeah, it’s got like a sporty compact body,
but you you’re right. I mean, there’s a cavity there. There’s some heel toe bumpers,
so there’s definitely some forgiveness involved. And I know in the uh in the good good crew, the
high lofted fairway woods have been kind of a a popular thing. Yeah. couple guys that are uh
selling seven woods for us pretty heavily. Yeah. I know it’s his favorite club, but you got
a 18 degree UT. So, tell me why UT versus like a fivewood or a sevenwood. What What have you liked
about this? You know what’s weird? I’m going to say this like I I’ve always struggled to find
the right one. I I don’t know. Like, and I like this club a lot. Don’t get me wrong. This club’s
great, but I feel like I’m always going to be in a constant battle. Should I have a hybrid? Should
I have a seven foot, fivewood, or should I have a, you know, 18 degree? So, I I feel like I don’t
really I don’t have the answer to that. My thing is like I want a club that’s going to go straight
and I can rely on on a 400 yard par4, you know? Yeah, that I don’t really need driver. Maybe it’s
a tighter hole. Um, and this has been good. Yeah, this club’s been good. But like I also had a
hybrid from you guys that I loved as well. Um, I feel like my game goes in phases where sometimes
like I prefer a low iron like this and then sometimes I prefer a hybrid. But without giving
away too much, we have some new things coming out that address that part of the bag. That’ll be
really fun. I feel like we’re going to do like a 2B continued here. Yeah. Where we’re going to
we’re going to address this. All right. So, we go from 18° UT get into a triple diamond 3-wood. Tell
me about this one this year. As far as 3-woods go, I do love this. Again, it’s very similar to that
club. I feel I can kind of turn it down, hit a steamer if I want to, but then if I want to hit a
high spinny shot, then I can also do that. So, Oh, yeah. So, Garrett’s fresh off a new workout
program that him and his buddies are doing, and he’s hit it hard here. He told us off
camera, he’s like, I don’t know if I can even swing. He’s still striping it. All right.
Elite triple diamond again. Is this the same sort of thing like uh with the 3-wood, you know,
feel? We just No. You didn’t get too into it or we just sent you triple diamond. It was great
or tell. No, no, no, no. This one a little bit driver a little more technical. Last driver I
had, I had a shaft in it that was like half an inch short. Didn’t end up liking that. Overall,
just wasn’t a good fit for me. I will say this is the best driver I’ve had ever. Couldn’t tell you
exactly why other than the fact that it’s going, you know, a little higher and I feel like
maybe a little farther. Yeah. You know, until you guys come out with a new driver, I’m not
going to say switch me out. This thing is great. Tell them the story where where did this putter
come from? We I mean we hit a thousand pinfooters. No, I’m kidding. I had the Jailbird and it was
funny like I’d used it so much and I probably beat it up a little bit but the weight right here
had fell down into the shaft and my friend Grant, we were filming and I was like, “Dude, I don’t
know why I cannot control my putts.” And he grabs my putter. He’s like, “Dude, where’s
the is it counterbalance weight? Where’s your counterbalance weight?” I’m like, “Oh,
it’s like down here in my shaft.” He’s like, “That’s why. What are you doing?” Just had
to text Johnny over here. I was like, “Dude, I need another putter.” And I’ve been putting
amazing ever since. And the final piece of the puzzle is golf ball. So, you’re triple diamond,
but sometimes chrome tour kind of depends on the golf course. I like the triple diamond.
Um, that’s what I’ve been using right now, but I also love the chrome tour. So, I’m not
super picky on the ball. I will say like this, what is the spin? The chrome tour x. The
spinnier chrome tour X is a spinnier. Yeah, that one I I can’t use because it’s just a little
too spinny for me, but I love the Chrome Tour and the Triple Diamond. So, nice. Garrett Clark,
look for him at the top. He’s the odds on betting favorite here at the King of the Mountain.
Have a great week, buddy. Thank you. Yeah, enjoy.

  1. The things I would do for some raw opus sp wedges to go with my tcb raw irons. Please release those.

  2. I love these videos!! Nice dive into what players like and the good good fellas and Callaway has been such a good fit!
(I also like you guys sending TEJ some crazy sheeet lol)

  3. The video concept is cool, but it needs to showcase more depth regarding the player. Garret excels with wedges and unconventional shots, and it would have been beneficial to see more detailed insights rather than just surface-level commercial banter. While light conversation is acceptable in commercials, it’s important to make them engaging. Garret is a YouTuber who can talk for hours; just provide him with something substantial to work with.

Overall, the video felt eclectic but leaned too much toward surface-level marketing.
