The LPGA is back in Asia for its second swing of the year there, this week in China for the Buick LPGA Shanghai, which features 82 players and no cut.
World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul leads the field at Qizhong Garden Golf Club where they’re playing for a $2.2 million purse with the winner taking home $330,000 for a victory. Ruoning Yin is the defending champion.
There have been 26 different winners this year on tour—no one has won twice—and 11 of those 26 winners are in the field, making it a good likelihood that the record-streak continues. Nine of the top 25 players in the world are participating.
Unfortunately, the biggest news of the week so far has been the shape of the greens in Shanghai. Photos were posted on social media of brown, patchy greens that looked poorly maintained. The LPGA released a statement saying that tournament officials “worked diligently against extreme heat conditions this season in preparation for this week’s event.”
Here’s the rundown of what each player will earn this week.
