LAWRENCE, Kansas – The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team concluded the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational with a seventh-place team finish and final score of 901(+49). Led by a pair of top-20 individual finishers in freshmen Jordan Levitt (13th) and Sawyer Brockstedt (17th), the Irish women recorded a tournament-low second round score of plus-10 to work their way into the seventh spot overall.

Levitt led the team with a final tally of 221(+8) and 13th overall. The freshman helped the team to their second round low by posting an even-par total of 71 to close out day one of competition. Fellow freshman Brockstedt finished shortly behind, just two strokes shy of her teammate, with a score of 223(+10). She recorded a pair of 73(+2) scores on the first day before ending the tournament with a Round 3 score of 77(+6).

With a score of 227(+14), Maddy Bante placed third for the Irish and 29th overall as she picked up her tournament-low score in the final round, posting a 74(+3) tally. Alex Lapple’s 233(+20) rounded out the scoring individuals for the Irish as she took 53rd individually at the two-day tournament.

Bridget Wilkie also competed in the team tournament, finishing with a three-round total of 236(+33), including a first round low score of 75(+4).

The Irish return to competition next weekend with the Jim West Challenge slated for San Marcos, Texas (Oct. 19-20).
