RATING KATE MARTIN’S GOLF SWING

The WNBA is an LPGA feeder program at this point. So many pro basketball players are jumping into golf, Trysta and Sarah dip into their own golf backgrounds to offer critique of Kate Martin, Caitlin Clark, Allisha Grey, and Rhyne Howard’s golf swings.

Who is your ideal golf foursome?

I agree. I feel like Caitlyn’s probably takes it way too seriously. Oh my god. Could you imagine playing golf with Caitlyn Clark? [Music] Martin’s not a golfer. A golfer. Have you seen her swing? I haven’t yet. I’ve literally It’s actually not bad. Okay. And for anyone who doesn’t know, Tristan and I, we both come from golf backgrounds. So, we wanted to scholar right here. Oh, man. Let me let me zoom out on this. Okay, let’s see it. We got to watch it cuz All right. Very rusty. So, she’s a lefty. She’s a lefty, which I I thought was surprising. Using my driver. Okay. It’s not bad. A little bit of a hook off the top, but to be honest, Not that big of a bag swing. Shorten the back swing. She’s rusty. I’m glad that she put that. And she does what I do. Put the tea inside the hair. She’s out there in her. She’s so gay. She’s out there in her team misssued gear too for the Golden State Valkyrie using her 52 wedge. See, you know what she does? She just doesn’t stay down on it this much. Four. She almost hit somebody. She’s also she’s doing that thing with her foot where you like you you spin your foot cuz you think you’re supposed to, but you’re not actually like What do you give Kate Martin scale of 1 to 10 on her swing? Okay. Swing. I’m going to give her a six. Six. Not bad. It’s not bad. Was that low? Really low for an amateur. Do you think like if I’m comparing her to an LPJ golfer? Yeah. Okay, fair. So, I’ll give her to be honest just from a beginner standpoint. Yeah. Like for some eight. Eight. Then if I’m seeing her just on the MUN, I’m giving her an eight. Yeah. Like you see a woman on the golf course, we definitely always watch for that cuz if it’s not an LPGA pro, you’re wondering what’s going on. Why are you here? Just a minority thing. I know that happens to me every te box I’m on. They want to see. They want to see. You get excited. And so, uh, I give her an 8.2 for the swing off the tea. Oh, we’re doing twos. I give her a probably 7.9 with the wedge and I give her a seven and a half for the putter. Putter is actually the shakiest part of her game. I actually thought her wedge was better than her drive. She did a little bit of the the furic hook at the top on the drive, but the wedge was was smoother. I think she just needs to she’s just got to learn. And she’s rusty. I think she’s rusty. Yeah, she’s rusty. You know, I do love the crossover though of golfers or sorry, basketball players and golf. Like, what is that? Why is it a thing that exists in both zen? It just gets you zen. I think it’s like one of those things that’s so difficult to master that if you’ve mastered basketball, you’re like, “Okay, let me try a new challenge.” So, I don’t know who in the W has the best golf swing. I actually don’t know all the WNBA players that are golfers. We need to do a little research on that and come back to I know Caitlyn plays. Like, I feel like I’ve seen Okay, let’s see it. Here we go. Oh, that’s a nine. That’s good. It’s It’s slow-mo. I’d like to see a real speed to really get But that’s pretty decent. I mean, that’s that’s smooth. The only thing she just needs to take the club back a little bit further. You see, a little further. Women have a hard time getting all the way rotation. She needs a little more extension in her forearms uh on the release. I don’t know that our fans care about this level of detail of critique, but we we are going to just say good stuff for Caitlyn Clark. Good stuff for Caitlyn Clark. I want to see this is these are the ones. This is Ali Gray ATL vibes. Oh, I love Oh, wow. Okay. Like she’s actually good. No, she’s actually really good. Put on her shot a shot tracker. Tremendous. That’s exactly what you want. 86 yards. Ryan Howard righty. Also Ali Sha Gray, another lefty. Another southpaw. Let’s look at Ryan Howard swing. also pretty damn good. Also pretty good. And that Wow, they’re good golfers. They both hit the green on a par three. And I like that they’re using their team issued gear. I feel like maybe this is something the WNBA like told them to do. Hey, go out there into the community. That’s a good lag putt, too. That was a really good lag. Okay, I’m actually of those three, four of those three groups. those three groups. Oh, okay. If you’re playing with or let’s just say two. Do this. Alisha and Ryan versus Caitlyn and Kate, which would be tremendous. Um, that’s the new the match. They need to do the match. The Capital One, the match. They need to do those two verse the I would take I’m actually gonna take Ryan and Alicia. Yeah, me too. I actually 86 yard wedge so we don’t It was downhill. It was downhill. It was a little bit like throwing a dart. But I will say I am impressed. I also think just like vibes wise, you know, like if you’re going to be if you’re going to be in a a they’re going to have to be in a threesome. Pause. They’re going to have the tunes. They’re going to have snacks. Their golf cart is where it’s at. Yeah, for sure. I agree. I feel like Caitlyn’s probably takes it way too seriously. Oh my god. Could you imagine playing golf with Caitlyn Clark? Gross. Probably. Oh my god. You think she’s a walker? You think she’s a walker? She’s got the rickshaw. I bet she pushes the little You think she’s a push carter? Oh yeah, she’s a 5 and 1/2 hour player. Like 5 and 1 half hour round player, but she’s great over every putt. If you play against her, everything has to go in the hole. There’s no ability to pick the ball up. No matter if it’s a tap in. I bet that’s who she would be the worst. She would be the worst of I would 100% Alicia and Ryan. That’s who I’m playing with. Alisha, we also do need a daily W. One of our goals now that we have just decided right here on the spot is to have a daily W golf tournament. The Daily Wolf celebrity program with all uh celebrity female golf uh players that play golf on the side. And uh maybe we put some money up for charity or something. listed.
