The worst things in life come free to us cuz we’re just under the upper hand and go mad for a couple gs. And she don’t want to go outside tonight. And in a pipe she flies to the motherland or sells love to another man. It’s too cold outside for angels to fly. [Music] Angels to fly. [Music] Ripps rain cold. Tried to swim to stay float. [Music] And when the four corners, I want to hear it. I don’t have the fear that I want to rock just say so. Just like way back in the day. The moon. [Music] Magnificently we were welcome friends and family. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good. The Lord is absolutely present here today to watch the joining of these two into one. We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate Corey and Kaia and their lifelong commitment of love to each other. This is not the beginning of a new relationship, but an acknowledgement of the next chapter of their lives together. Ka, as your younger brother, I have had the privilege of growing up beside you, learning from you, laughing with you, and occasionally arguing over the front seat. From teaching me volleyball in the front yard to making me play dress up against my will. Pretty sure I was a fairy princess at least twice. You have always kept life interesting. But more than that, you have been the person I could always rely on. Ka, you have always been a constant source of strength, encouragement, and love in my life. You’ve helped me uh you’ve helped shape me into the person I am today. I have watched you grow into a beautiful, kind, and driven woman. and I am incredibly proud to call you my sister. Seeing you stand here today glowing with happiness fills me with so much joy because I know you found the love you deserve. Corey, I’ll take a bre nice deep breath. Okay, Corey, from the very first moment Kai introduced you to our family, felt as if you had always been a part of it. As a youngest, I’ve always felt protective of my sisters. But when I met you, I felt at ease because it was so clear that my sister had found someone truly special. You have such a kind and generous spirit, thoughtful, dependable, and full of life. Your energy lights up any room, and your sense of humor is contagious. I love how you bring out the best in Ka, how you make her laugh, how you love her with such sincerity and devotion. I don’t even remember how soon it was after we met, but it didn’t take long before you told me you were going to marry her. And honestly, I wasn’t surprised you two were meant for each other. Corey, you are everything I could hope for in the person my sister would share her life with. And today, I couldn’t be happier to see you both beginning this next chapter together. Although today is a celebration of two families coming together, it is also the beginning of a brand new family. one that starts with just the two of you. A family like this doesn’t simply happen on its own. It takes patience, effort, and love. The work belongs to you, Corey and Ka. However, all of us who are here today are the support system. We are the ones who will continue to stand beside you to cherish your relationship, to protect it, and to celebrate it as it grows. My hope is that this day represents more than a promise between two people. is also a promise for everyone gathered here to keep uplifting you, encouraging you, and reminding you of the love that brought you to this moment. And as you move forward, I want to leave you with a little piece of advice. Don’t settle for compromise. Compromise can sometimes mean each person giving up a part of themselves. Instead, strive for collaboration because collaboration honors both of your voices, both of your dreams, and both of your hearts. That’s what makes your relationship so beautiful. It is made of both of you fully and completely creating something stronger together than you could ever be apart. In the words of Leo Biscoli, love is always bestowed as a gift freely, willingly, and without expectation. What love we’ve given, we will have forever. We’re getting there. Okay, Kai and Corey, as you come this day to affirm your love and commitment, may you always remember to value each other as special and unique individuals, and to respect each other’s thoughts, ideas, and feelings. From this day forward, you will be each other’s home, comfort, and sanctuary. We now come to one of the most heartfelt parts of today’s ceremony, the moment where you share the vows that you have written for one another. These words are your promises spoken from the heart and they will carry you through your life together. Ka, please share your vows. Can I hook? My hanky? Yeah, I think I’m going to need it. Okay, I’m going to try to really try. You got this. Okay. I don’t want to look. Okay, turn around. Okay. All right. What do we have going on here? Okay. Corey Charles Plaster. Close to five years ago, I said a prayer asking for a man with green eyes and curly hair. Frankly, not much depth to that prayer. But ultimately, I did get just that. So, yay. Luckily, I was sent a man that has so much more than his luscious curly locks and one of a kind green eyes. I have somehow managed to find a man who oftentimes meets my sass with a smile. Who will willingly listen to the same song a hundred times in a row with me, but never the whole way through. A man who is never angry with my very subpar directional skills as his co- captain, but only simply surprised how I got anywhere before he came into my life. A man who will have anyone around him busting up laughing in minutes with his hysterical oneliners. A man who has such a passion for life that it inspires everyone around him. A man that has a countless amount of hobbies that he is aspiring to be the very best at every day. A man who will attend an event every day of the week with me, sometimes two or three. A man that will walk miles all over town just to spend time chatting with me over a nice coffee. A man that lights up when he is given any gift, no matter how small. Stickers and shirts probably being at the top of his list. A man who continues to play card games with me, no matter how angry I am at him when he wins. A man that truly makes me feel so beyond loved and important and seen and known. It’s hard. And a man with such a beautiful heart and spirit. Okay. Corey, when you came into my life, you took me by surprise. From our first kiss in the rain outside of a restaurant up until now. Four years later, we have made endless memories. When I went on a camping trip with you only a few weeks into getting to know you that had no bathrooms, mind you, I knew deep down you would be someone so special to me. Okay, you can’t quite see. We have made more memories in four years together than I think I did the 10 years prior. The amount of river strolls, camping trips, live concerts, grandma pool days, blackberry milkshakes, boat rides, and parties that we have participated in during our time together is actually out of control. I know we are going to continue to live such a full life together. Getting to know and love you in all of the in between moments of those events has been such an honor and privilege. Okay, I promise a few things to you in this life. I promise to cherish you. I promise to support you in your pursuits and passions. I promise to be your constant encourager to try new things and for you to push your boundaries. I promise you try and fill the brid up at the end of the day. I promise to have at least half your excitement for the everyday little things we get to do together. I promise to forgive you endlessly and easily. I promise to love you for all my days. I absolutely understand how quickly this life can fly with those that you love. And I just want to cherish the time that we have together. I hope that when we look back on our lives, we have more good days than bad. We have more laughter than tears and more memories than possessions. I hope that when we look back on today, it’s the day we loved each other the least. As our love continues to grow and evolve, I hope that when we look back on our lives, we smile with the simple thought of one another. However, outside of the hopes and dreams that I have for us, I promise that when you look back at the end of your life, you will absolutely know without a shred of doubt how loved you were by me. I love you, Corey Foster, and I can’t wait to be your wife. Okay. All right. I did it. Thank you. All right, Corey. Uh, please share your vows now with Ka. See if I can get through this. Kyle Leanne Johnson, standing here today, I feel like the luckiest person alive to be marrying you. Every time I see you, I know I’m in trouble. The kind of trouble you never want to get out of. From getting lost in your green ice to drowning in sunshine on a beach, I just can’t get enough of you. I remember the first time I told you I loved you. We were on a rooftop bar in San Diego celebrating one of your friends getting married. We were having such a fun time and I found myself just constantly staring at you with growing butterflies inside me. I knew my feelings were stronger than ever and I just had to tell you. It was in that moment a quote from a movie popped up in my head. You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery and I promise you something great will come of it. As I approached you, heart beating out of my chest like right now. I found my 20 seconds. I love you, Ka. I blurted out. As time seemed to stand still, my courage immediately turned to pure joy as you said those three little words back to me. The quote worked and you’re my something great, Ka. You challenge me. You inspire me. And you’ve shown me patience even when I didn’t deserve it. You light up every room you enter and still laugh at my dumb jokes. You’ve loved me on my best days and even more importantly on my worst. You make me want to be a better man, not because you asked me to. Next. But you because you believe in me. So today, I promise to stand beside you, not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s hard. I promise to choose you every single day. Even when you don’t fill up the brittle filter. I promise to never keep score unless we are playing a game. Then it’s on. I promise to always share the last bite, even if it’s dessert. I promise to kill all the spiders, even though I hate them. I promise to always sleep next to you, even when I catch the elbows and wake up with no covers. I promise to listen to you and occasionally pretend I didn’t hear the part about buying another t-shirt or hat. I promise to dance with you in the kitchen, even if our kids roll their eyes someday. I promise to grow with you and never grow apart. I promise to respect you as my equal, my teammate, and my life partner. And I promise to love you fiercely, support you endlessly, and keep finding new ways to make you laugh for the rest of our lives. You’re my favorite person, Ka. The light of my life, my greatest adventure, and my home always. Thank you. Give it up for him, guys. Come on. That’s hard to do. I did good. Oh, thank you. Thanks. Perfect. You don’t want to keep it. Okay, thank you. Got to have the free hands. Okay, Corey. From this day forward, will you take Kaia as your wife, your companion, and your best friend? Do you promise to love and respect her, to share your life and your dreams, and to build a home together that is filled with love, happiness, and growth? Will you stand by her in both successes and failures, in joy and in sorrow, and give her your unwavering support and commitment for all the days of your life? Do you promise to have and hold one another from this day forward? For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do you part? I do. Ka, from this day forward, will you take Corey as your husband, companion, and best friend? Do you promise to love Corey and respect him to share your life and your dreams? To build a home with him that is a place of love, happiness, and growth? Will you stand by him in both successes and failures, in joy and in sorrow, and give him your unwavering support and commitment for all the days of your life? Do you promise to have and hold one another from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part? I do. All right. Your ring is an unbroken circle made of precious materials with ends joined together as a symbol of your eternal and infinite love. When you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of the moment um your commitment and the love you feel for one another. The box is huge. Okay, big box. I’ll take the whole box. Why not? All right. up first juggling. Cy. Okay, we’ll do one at a time. Supposed to wear this. Okay, Corey. Ready? I wasn’t supposed to wear that. Corey, place this ring on Kaia’s finger and repeat after me. Ka, I give you this ring. Ka, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love. as a symbol of my love. And my promise to love you today, tomorrow. And my promise to love you today, tomorrow and forever and always. And forever and always. Perfect. All right. Other way. But yes, a little shaky. Nailed it. See how Ka does. It’s Ka’s turn. And now, Ka, place this ring on Corey’s finger and repeat after me. Corey, I give you this ring. Corey, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love. as a symbol of my love. And my promise to love you today, tomorrow. and my promise to love you today, tomorrow, and forever and always. And forever and always. Well, by the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride. [Music] [Applause] Ladies and gentlemen, uh, for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. Blaster. [Applause] [Music] Don’t let them fool you. [Music] [Music] I could walk across the world and never find the answer. I could search the sky above and never get any closer. You made it all and I’m left to fall at the feet of the one who fell for me. You give your life for mine. You have me by your side. I won’t look back anymore. I am yours. You never say goodbye. Heat. Heat. All the rest can disappear without any traces. I have nothing left to fear. As long as your face is all I can see, you’re all I need. Every breath, every step, you’re here. You give your life. You have me by your side. I won’t look back anymore. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] I belong to you. You knew I belong to you. You knew I belong to you. You knew. And now I know why. Oh, I was looking for something else. You’re something else. All I was looking for something more. You’re so much more. I finally found what I could never see before. You’ve always been the one that I was looking for. All of my castles in the sand washed away again. And I’m left right where I began tonight. The only thing that can ever fill me up has been right in front of me all the time. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Let’s keep that energy flowing. My name is DJ Ali. It’s my honor and pleasure to be your DJ and MC for this evening. But at this time, I’d like to direct your attention right over there to the bridal suite as we welcome in your bridesmaid. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] And let’s keep that applause going as we welcome in or groomsmen. All right. [Music] Oh my god, we’re back again. Brother, sisters, everybody saying I’m going to bring the flame. I’ll show you how. Got a question for you. Better answer now. Yeah. Am I waiting? Yeah. Am I the only one? Yeah. Am I sexual? Yeah. Am I everything you need? Let’s hear it for the whole wedding party, everybody. [Applause] And last, but certainly not least, everybody, let’s hear your loudest applause of the evening as we welcome in for the second time ever, it’s Mr. and Mrs. Plaster. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I don’t [Music] [Applause] think this grows up. All right. All right. Want to tell you what you can do with my love. All right. Let you know girl, you looking good. You’re out of sight. All right. You lose yourself and you glide seven and you lose yourself in the sky among the clowns in the heavens. Hello. Hello. Okay, I’m going to try one more time to say something without crying. We wanted to thank you all for making the trip to come celebrate with us. I’d also like to personally thank Corey’s parents, Maggie and David, Corey’s grandparents, Charles and Mara, my dad Brent, my grandma Barbara, and my auntie Carolyn for helping us to have the day of our dreams. We can’t thank you enough, and this has already been the most beautiful and unforgettable day. It’s so special to have all of the people that you love most in one room. Although we can’t see a few of the most important people, I know they’re still here today in spirit. Every one of you have impacted us in profound ways. I feel so incredibly blessed to have such a loving and supportive group of family and friends who have always been by my side and to marry into such a sweet family as well. We also have so many friends here who we consider family and couldn’t imagine life without. As I’ve gotten older, it’s really clear to me how incredibly blessed I am to have the community that I do. And yeah, I’m just I’m really thankful to have all of you. I have so many people I can call for help, for encouragement, to cry or laugh with, and frankly to gab with endlessly. I can’t thank you all enough for being that for me and for being here to celebrate us today. We are so beyond lucky to know and love all of you that are here. Corey, today has been so special and I adore you and I have so many hopes and dreams for us in this lifetime. Thank you for choosing me to be your partner in crime. I love you Corey and I love all of you. Cheers. Thanks for coming you guys. Water glass. Cheers. Again, pretty tough to follow up, I would say. Um, but you know what? I’m going to start off with thanking each and every one of you for being here today. Again, just it means so much for us to just stand up there and look out and see everyone here that’s here for us. It’s pretty crazy. Uh, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, thank you so much. I love you so much for all the love and support you have given me and Ka throughout the years. Means a lot, you know, could be a lot harder, but it’s not. Super easy with you guys. And Cam, best man. Love you. Best older brother a kid can ask for. To my groomsman, love each and every one of you. You too, Will. [Laughter] You guys are brothers, you know. Couldn’t ask for anything else. And then Jean and Reed and Donnie. You guys have meant so much to me. You know, meeting Ka, it’s been so easy, you know, just hanging out with you guys. It’s just bunch of brothers. Nothing else I’d want. Ev, Auntie Carolyn, Harwood Clan, thank you so much for everything you guys have done for us. Brent, Grandma Barb, thank you guys so much. The Johnson Clan, it’s been so easy. You know, a little intimidating meeting Brent, by the way. Like, all right. Don’t know how this is going to go. It worked out. First time actually meeting him. We’re on a boat. Boat died. So, it was about eight hours interrogation and I wouldn’t change anything for the world. I’m here today with the prettiest bride ever. So, all the family. Yes. Yes. Clap it up. All the family here. We love each and every one of you. Thank you everyone. And I can’t wait to celebrate. And to Kaya, my beautiful, beautiful bride. I love you so much. You’re my world and I can’t wait to grow old together. Nothing else I’d rather change or nothing else I’d rather do. This is amazing. Sorry, that’s a slip up. Rewind. Um, I love her so much. You know, she’s my world, my best friend, and wow, this is just another day of us just hanging out and being the luckiest people alive. And wow, you are gorgeous. I love you so much. Thank you everyone. Cheers. Cheers. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Hello everybody. Everybody, how’s it going? Well, about six weeks ago, I got a phone call and Cory and Kyle were asking me to, you know, to do a little toast. And so, I figured that uh they said to keep it under one. So, I figured, you know, I got enough material for an hour. And this morning, my wife said, “No, it’s under one, and that’s under one minute.” So, I’m like, I got I got too much material. Um anyway, so I figured I’d just pick one word to kind of describe the two. And it was said a few times today, proud. Very proud of who they’ve become. Uh very proud of the Johnson family and who Corey has, you know, chosen to join the Plaster family. Very proud of all the friends that have have shown up, all the family, every everybody that’s here. And one of the the best things that I’ve seen was last night at the at the restaurant, just hearing the stories and the speeches from everybody else. And you know, I just kind of enjoy that more than me talking up here. So, I kind of want to just start us off with a toast. And what I want to say is, Ka, you’ve been plastered. [Applause] Um, before I toast these guys, I want to do a couple kind of little toasts. Um, first off, I feel and I always have felt totally blessed and um, fortunate for the friends and family that I’ve had in this life. I feel like I won like the super lottery. Um, I couldn’t ask for better people to be around. Um, I’ve just been really lucky and having the plaster family and meeting them and and it’s it’s just like I just it just keep winning. So, um I want to give a I want you guys to all raise a glass to all of you and um just want to toast you guys for um just everything you mean to me and and to the kids. So, cheers. Next toast I’d like to do is um a toast for all of our loved ones that are not here in body but are in spirit. I know that every table here is just full of angels and um looking over us and all of us wouldn’t be here today except for those people and and we’re their legacy and um so I I just want to acknowledge them and and what they’ve done for us and where we’re at. So cheers. I have to make a confession. When Kai asked me to write this speech, I wrote this. I just, you know me, I can’t stop talking. But, um, I wrote this speech and then she called me a few days before the wedding and said, it was actually a week before the wedding and said, “How long is your speech? I need to know the exact time of the speech for the slot.” And so, I decided I’d time myself. Well, all this stuff I wrote down and came out to 23 minutes. So, I um had to rewrite this thing a couple times to um get it down. Okay. Sorry. Sorry. I’m going to skip that part. Um, first off, I would like to thank all of you for coming down to this beautiful spot to celebrate Corey and Ka. Just really want to let you know how we appreciate you and that you’re all here. And what a testimony of how these kids sure do have a wonderful network of friends and family supporting them in this life. My hope is that they can rely on all of you to support and celebrate this life together as they have chosen. Next, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Charles and Mara, Dave and Maggie Plaster, Cory’s grandparents and parents for their amazing generosity and making the kids day everything they wish for. Okay, I’m going to keep it together. Ka, you’re an amazing, beautiful bride. today. I’m so proud of the woman you have become, and I am in awe of you. Corey, you’re a pretty handsome hunk yourself. And the two of you are quite a good-looking couple. But beyond the superficial great looks, I want to talk about you both as special as the people. Hold on. Both as people and why I believe you’re a special pair. For those of you with kids, what I’m going to say will probably resonate. And with those without, Without kids, this is what a parent goes through. Well, it all started way back when Kai was born on October 23rd, 1995. Kai came out blue and not breathing with an umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. It was one of the scariest moments in my life. And within a minute when I heard that scream, one of the best moments in my life, all in just a quick little blink. She got my attention from the first second she came into this world and has kept me pretty much on my toes ever since. So the minute one of your children is born, the worrying begins. First, you’re worrying about all the things needed to be done to keep that baby happy, healthy. Then immediately it starts to turn into how you’re going to help this child become smart and experienced in things like crawling, walking, running, catching, and so on. As they grow, your concerns change. Once a toddler, you’re hoping they don’t harm themselves when running down hills, jumping off of beds, or sticking something in a receptacle and getting shocked. All the time, you’re watching this little child develop a personality and start becoming who they are. This is where that keeping me on my toes really starts with Ka. Kaia was so sweet, independent, smart, and funny. She was a blast to raise, but there was a little window there where I thought, “This kid is out of control.” Kaia was stubborn beyond anything I have ever imagined. Her go-to phrase was, “I can do it my own self.” We had a nickname for Kaia, Fee, which turned into just Fee. And she especially loved this name because we would drive from one place to the next and we were a singing kind of family. And Ka thought the song I’ve been working on the railroad was basically written for her. The part that says fifi fio was her line and was sung at full lungs on a regular occasion. Well, as Ka got a bit older, ready to start school, we had a problem. See, Kaya hated wearing underpants. She spent most of the first five years of her life running around naked as can be and did not like the restricting feeling of clothes. It took everything we had to get her to dress so she could attend school. She would slip her arms down through the legs of her panties and stretch them out as far as possible. And consequently, they would fall down around her ankles whenever she stood up or was out playing on the playground. After several months of fighting, we were finally able to talk her into stopping this so she could remain in school. It was a tough fight that I thought we might not win. About this time, Ka’s ability to handle losing at anything was at its peak. and her nickname changed to Fina Mina because she would bully you to keep going on any game or competition until she won. And you couldn’t just let her win to get out of continuing because she knew that’s what you were doing and wouldn’t stand for it. So sometimes it took five or six games of Candyland or whatever the game was before she would win and you could move on to something else. This con competitive spirit has served her well. This is around the time You start worrying. Is your child going to have good manners? Is she going to be able to be social and make friends? Is she going to be smart and do well in school? Well, these worries went away pretty quickly with Ka. As your child gets older, especially with your daughters, you start to worry about boys being that you remember how you were. And that’s really all I have to say about that. And as your child becomes an adult, you hope that they are happy and love their life and are all about living it to the fullest. But honestly, one of your main thoughts that rolls around in your head is that your daughter will someday find a man. And you hope that he cherishes her, loves her for who she is, will protect her, support her dreams, will make her laugh, will be competitive, and challenge her. And you can tell by the way he looks at her, he is truly in love with her. Today, another worry is off my list. And and this is where this young man, Corey Plaster, comes in. I have to admit, I was already determined that he was the guy right after meeting him, probably even before Ka. He was super nervous when we met, and I thought that’s either a really good thing or a really bad thing. Turns out it was a really good thing because he really wanted to make a good impression and he did. Corey is a guy after my own heart. He’s adventurous. He’s competitive. He wants to experience everything. He’s a lover of life. He felt like part of our family from the very start. He’s funny. He’s caring. He’s charismatic. And you know right away after meeting him, he was brought up by a great family. Together, these two kids are a perfect match. They balance each other out exactly how a couple needs to to thrive and enjoy this wonderful life. Watching them joke around and laugh together like they do brings me happiness. And this is the hope I have for you both that I want to share with you both. I can’t stand that way because the wind. This is a crazy wonderful Oh, sorry. This life is a crazy wonderful trip. Time flies by for me. I had this child in what seems like a blink in time. They’re grown and off getting married. There’s tons of highs and some lows, but I hope that you enjoy each through both. I hope you not only grow as a couple, but support each other in your own individual growth, and you both support each other’s dreams. Marriage is not always easy, but looking to each other to get through life’s struggles will bring you closer and closer as the years pass. I couldn’t be more excited for you both and I wish you all the happiness this life has to offer. I love you guys. And finally, if you would all please join me in raising a glass to Corey and Ka Plaster. Cheers. [Applause] [Music] She been my queen since we were 16. We want the same things. We dream the same dreams. All right. All right. I got it all cuz she is the one. Her mom calls me love, but that calls me son. All right. All right. I know. I know. I know for sure. Everybody want to steal my girl. Everybody want to see me. Everybody want to see my Everybody want to see All right. Kisses like cream. Her walk is so mean and every jaw drop when she’s in those jeans. All right. All right. I don’t even have her. The sun doesn’t shine. The world doesn’t turn all right. But I know I know I know everybody want to see my everybody want to take away. Everybody want to see my Everybody want to see knows. All right, let it down. Okay, cool. We’re going to see how this goes. So, uh, well, for those of you that don’t know me, my name is Cameron. I’m Cory’s, uh, older and much more handsome brother. Um, and I’m the best man tonight. So, uh, Corey and I formally met when I was around like two and a half years old, but we weren’t we weren’t really on speaking terms for a couple years to be honest. Um, but once we finally started, you know, chatting and having a good time, I mean, we became like best buds, right? And most people would assume that the older brother is the one that kind of torments the younger brother, but in our case, that was not it at all. Um, and I don’t know if he remembers this, but he actually got me grounded for like two weeks when I did nothing wrong. Uh, you remember it, don’t you, Mom? Um, so he showed up one day. I don’t know, he was probably like maybe five or six and he had this like bright red like mark on his forehead, right? It was about the size of a golf ball. Um, and I mean, you just ate it up. You I mean, he was crying and he blamed it on me, right? So, I think he said like I hit him with a baseball bat or something. I don’t know. I mean, in his defense, I had done that before, so it wasn’t the worst lie, but you know, it definitely wasn’t me that time. So, a few weeks later, you know, his forehead had healed and uh you know, he was playing in the garage with his with his buddy at the time and we had this like exercise trampoline and my mom walks in and uh sees him dragging his forehead across the trampoline, which I don’t know why you would do that, but that’s something Corey does. Um, immediately she knew what actually happened. Uh, but it didn’t matter because, you know, damage had already been done. My time was served. And, uh, he got away scot-free like he sometimes would. Um, and I know what you might be thinking. You know, Cory must have been a really clever kid to kind of get away with something like this. Blame it all on me. Uh, but this is the same kid who a few years later glued himself to a toilet seat. Do you remember that? Cuz I do. Um, so Corey being the true maverick that he was, uh, you know, he took some like fancy like smelling room spray and he decided to spray it directly onto a toilet seat, which I don’t know why you would do that. Um, and he obviously wasn’t anticipating the toilet seat to kind of melt a little bit. And when uh when he sat down, uh, he he had to stay down cuz there’s no way he was getting up after that. It it glued him pretty good. So, it was like a Saturday afternoon. We were all at home. It was quiet. And all of a sudden, we heard what we thought thought was like a 13-year-old girl screaming from the bathroom. Um, no, it was it was Corey. Um, we ran in and we saw Corey there sitting crying naked and uh, well, sorry. No, you’re good. Is this better? Oh, that’s way better. Okay, cool. Should I read you the story or does everyone Okay, so we saw I I’ll I’m going to just the last part. So Cory was naked. Um, and so, uh, you know, we run in and once the laughter subsides, we eventually help him. Um, but it did take quite a few minutes. And, you know, once I mean, he was crying a lot. I’m just going to He was crying. I’m just going to say it again. Um, he was like, “Mommy, help me. Help me.” You remember that? He does. Yeah. I don’t know what to do. Uh, yeah. He thought he was going to die. He’s Yeah, he goes through that a lot. So, Kai, get ready. But um I mean in all seriousness, he’s like the greatest brother a guy could ask for. And uh he’s got the biggest heart. I mean medically it’s okay. We had it checked. But he has I mean he loves harder than anyone I know. And so I met Kaia a few years ago at Christmas and uh Corey introduced my whole family to her. And uh I mean I knew right away that I could just tell how much they loved each other, right? I mean Corey every single time Kaia entered a room or he looked at her like his eyes just and I think all of you have probably seen that too. And Ka, this actually caught me really off guard. So Ka, she actually listened when Corey talked, which like so like she was genuinely interested in every word he had to say. And in our family, we all learn to tune Cory out from a very young age cuz as you guys know, he has a lot to say. So, you know, I would have gone insane if I heard every single word. But, you know, in a marriage, you know, listening and uh communication like that, that’s that’s that’s the foundation of any good marriage right there. Well, that and remembering to do the toilet seat down. So, I know I need to finish up here. They gave me four minutes, but uh but Corey, uh I’m so proud of you, man. Like, I’m so proud to be your brother. And Ka, welcome to the family, sis. And uh well, he’s your problem now. So everyone, cheers to Corey and Ka. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Andy, Ka’s older sister. When I was six years old, I wrote in my journal about how badly I wanted a baby sister. Not just someone to play dolls with, but a best friend, a partner in crime, someone I could look out for. Well, let’s just say the universe more than delivered. From the moment Ka arrived, she was a firecracker. Fire feisty, fearless, and full of life. the one who pushed every boundary, cut every line, and had no problem scratching you if you got in her way. She kept us on all of our toes every single day. But beneath all that fire, Ka’s always had a huge heart. She’s always been such an meaningful and special person in our family. She’s the party planner, the problem solver, the one who shows up when you need her most, and the person you call when you’re not sure what to do next. And then, of course, there’s her lifelong love affair with romantic comedies. She watched them like it was her part-time job. I remember turning to our parents one day and saying she’s going to end up with some seriously unrealistic expectations about love. But they just smiled and said, “Good. That means she won’t settle for anything less than the real thing.” And they she didn’t settle. She waited. She held out for the kind of love worth waiting for. And Corey, you are that love. I’ve always admired Ka’s drive. When she wants something, she goes for it. Hold on. Sorry. Lost my smile. [Music] Whether it was school, her career, or that moview worthy kind of love, she didn’t stop till she found it. And she found you, Cory. Your her unexpected twist, her real life love story, and her leading man. But more importantly, her calm, her constant, and her biggest supporter. Together, you’ve built something beautiful, something our dad is proud of, and her mom would have been so incredibly proud to see. She may not be here physically with us today, but I know deep in my heart, she would have loved you, Corey. She’d be proud of the woman Kai’s become and so thankful that she’s found someone who loves her for exactly who she is. Kaia, you’re still that passionate, unstoppable girl. But now you found someone who can match your energy, stand beside you through everything that life brings. And if I could offer you a little advice, say I love you even when you’re annoyed, dance in the kitchen, and forgive fast. So here’s to love, your best adventure, and the greatest romcom of them all. Let’s raise the glass. Kai and Corey, may your life be full of deep belly laughs and a love that keeps growing scene after scene. Cheers. Let’s hear one more time for Andy Nurandi, everybody. [Applause] [Music] All right. and make some noise for our next toaster of the evening. It is a best friend and groomsman. Make some noise for Will McCormick. Huh? I came prepared, believe it or not. So, for you that don’t know me, my name is Will McCormack. I’m Corey’s uh best friend. We’ve gotten into a lot of trouble together and made a lot of memories, a lot that I had to leave out of this speech. Let’s just say that. Um, so I have had the honor and sometimes the misfortune of calling Corey one of my best friends since we were in fourth grade. I moved to this like new school, Lakewood, and I was trying to meet new friends and I saw like this group of guys all playing kickball and stuff. I go, I’m going to try to join in with them. They seem like cool kids. And I don’t know if it was because I didn’t have Frosted Tips, but they just they didn’t pick me to be on their team. And I was like, “Okay, that’s cool.” But I don’t know exactly when it was, but Corey and I just like through being in Lakewood together, we became super close. I mean, from riding bikes down in like Dry Creek, jumping, watching each other fall, laughing to like just I mean, teepeeing each other’s houses. I almost I was going to leave that out of my speech, but I thought I’d throw that in. I don’t know if you remember, but in like seventh grade, you got mad at me and I and I defended myself. I said, “I swear I did not te your house.” Do you remember that? Yeah, I did. Yeah, that was me. Yeah. Um Yeah. I’m sorry, guys. It’s like that. Yeah. Yeah. So, I figure if there’s any time to admit, you know, I got to do it now. That was me. Um, but no, we became inseparable. I mean, from like water polo to skiing to fly fishing. Um, you know, it’s like just so many great memories with you, man. Like, you were more than a friend, your brother. I count you as, you know, one of my own. So that’s just seeing you two today. I’m going off the rift now. I mean, it was just amazing because it’s like Michelle, you know, I’ I’ve been married now and just like seeing you guys and knowing that you’re going to start a family one day and me having a daughter and seeing like I just hope, you know, like I’m getting choked up like having Addie and like seeing you like I’m like, “Oh my gosh, I hope that one day she marries someone like Corey.” I mean, it’s like he’s awesome. He’s one of my he’s amazing. I mean, just like, dude, it’s so cool. And I just Yeah. And so, um, I told myself I wasn’t going to cry, but no, then like I was going to say, now we’re going to go back to the funny part. So, uh, you know, from water polo to swimming, fly fishing, skiing, uh, I was going to say, you know, strip clubs, but Oh, did I Oh, I’m so sorry, Kai. I did not mean to write that into my speech. Um, no, but somehow do we we matured through it all. You know, we grow up and uh we’ve had some of the most fun and wild times of our lives together and and have had I mean just we’ve lived it all and and it’s just amazing to see you today with Kaia. She’s an amazing amazing woman. Um and I know that if anybody can keep up with you and put up with you, she’s she’s the one. You chose chose a good one. That’s for sure. No, but uh you know, you know that Corey can be at least I know Cory can be a little bit cocky and bombastic at times, but I know that deep down inside like like Cam said, he’s got a heart of gold. I mean, the biggest heart. Uh the people that he’s close to, he loves uh to the end and and just Yeah, you’re an amazing human being. Um, but no, to wrap it all off, you guys, you two were perfect for each other. I mean, Corey and I have always talked about the days that like we were going to have children together and we were going to raise them and and do everything. And if I were to, you know, it’s just amazing that now you’re one step closer to that coming becoming a reality. So, that’s just so cool. And you chose an amazing woman to do that with. Um, so just toast to Corey and Ka. Cheers. Hi everyone. My name is Ren. I met Ka at Menllo College where we play volleyball together along with some of the other girls here tonight who you may have met. Uh, Emma, Bailey, and Courtney. You may have never heard of Melo College, but it’s a small business school next to Palo Alto, surrounded by a bunch of tech nerds. Um, but during our four years together here, uh, we created unforgettable memories and forged lifelong relationships that I’ll always be grateful for. You also may not know, Kaia double majored in accounting and HR and started with a job at a big four accounting firm right out of college and then she killed it doing cold calling and sales for tech companies. um which showed her ability to adapt and tackle new challenges creatively and with great success. She even helps manage a family business. So when I said Melo was small, I mean it was like really small. Uh like 800 kids and when I moved here from Hawaii, I didn’t know anyone and having a good friend was uh really important. So looking back at our friendship, I realized that she taught me what it means to be a true friend. Someone who’s a real girl’s girl, someone who you can trust through thick and thin and always has your back. She taught me friends isn’t just meeting at the movies or restaurant. It’s also the littleer quiet moments even before you get there, like getting ready together. And it’s being able to say the hard things like, “No, your shoes don’t match that dress at all.” Or, “That sweater’s ugly. In all seriousness, Kaia has been by my side through the really hard things in life, from career changes to dealing with loss. She taught me that we’re here for each other, not just when it’s convenient, but we make time and we make a concerted effort to spend time with those we love. These traits that I’ve mentioned, intelligence, drive, and caring for others that make Haya who she is, most of us have to learn these things in life, but these came really naturally to her. And all of us can hear see the beauty and grace that Kaia walks through life with. This is a posture that her mom passed on to her. And I know she’s here in spirit. And also very proud that her daughter’s hair looks absolutely perfect on her wedding day as she’s marrying the man of her dreams. Shout out to Auntie Caroline for doing her hair. And Andie and Brent Ka’s dad. He’s always been a man’s man and provided her the best life you could ask for. He’s always working on some kind of project or spending time outdoors or planning quality time with Naomi. And Kai’s always been a daddy’s girl. And if there’s a man who can fill those large shoes and provide for her, I have all the confidence in Corey. Corey has a presence that lifts the energy and mood in the room. And from the time I met him, I knew he made Kaya happy. And I realized that because as I grilled him with questions because of course I’m protective of Kaia, he took it in stride because he knew at his core he’s a genuine guy. Cory is also an easygoing guy. He’s go with the flow and keeps conversations going. Except when he proposed, he was so nervous that as they got in the car to the lighthouse in Capola, he forgot the ring and told her he had to go back inside to grab his wallet. His wallet was sitting on the car seat. And Corey is usually talkative, but on the car ride, he was so silent. Kaya knew something was up. But that’s something that makes Corey so authentic. I also admire Cory’s work ethic. He’s an incredibly hard worker, and I’ve seen this tenacity and determination translate into the into the lifelong relationships he’s built and the relationship I know he will continue to build with Kaia. Kaia and Corey are truly the perfect match for all the reasons I’ve talked about. They bring out they bring out the best in each other and they show up for each other every day. Anyone who sees them can see that they truly enjoy each other’s presence. From going on walks and hikes to doing absolutely nothing to doing all the chores and things we may consider boring in life that are made better because they’re doing it together. They have such a deep connection and I’ve seen them catch each other’s eye from across the room. They’re inseparable. And if you’ve ever shared a bed or a couch with Ka, you know she’s a real cuddler. like too much cuddling for me perhaps. But Corey says he can’t sleep without her, only proving again they are the perfect match. I’m lucky to have witnessed the relationship grow into the power couple they are today. And they’re so deeply dedicated to each other, choosing each other, and saying yes to each other every single day. There’s so many new memories and good times on the horizon for you, too. and you’re well positioned to sail through the beautiful moments of life and also overcome the tough times head on. I’m so excited for the new adventures you’ll go on and I have no doubt you’ll flourish as long as you guys never stop saying yes to one another. Here’s Sakai and Corey. Um you guys will always be an inspiration to me. [Music] Let’s hear it one more time for Ren, everybody. And our next toaster of the evening, everybody make some noise for another groomsman. It’s Cody Chemstra. [Applause] All right. Good evening, everyone. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Cody Camstra. Um, I’m one of Cory’s groomsmen, and I’ve known this guy since the third grade. Now, that means I’ve seen Corey go through all the phases, right? I’ve seen him go through the frosted tips. I’ve seen him go through the uh trying to grow a beard too soon and uh now the somehow landed kaya phase which is uh let’s be honest it’s the peak right? Uh Corey and I have been through a lot together. Uh we grew up playing popner, played water polo in high school together and may or may not have gotten into some questionable situations. Uh then along came Kaia and uh let me say from the very first time I met her I knew Corey was in deep. Not just because he suddenly started dressing better and talking about things like brunch, but because he looked at her like she was the answer to a question he didn’t even know he was asking. And Ka, I mean this in the best possible way. You’re clearly the alpha in this relationship. And Corey, he’s never looked happier being second in command. Honestly, it works. You’re strong. You’re funny. You’re smart. And you challenge him in all the ways he needs. He’s lucky. And you’re lucky, too. But let’s not dwell on that for too long. We don’t need you to change your mind. In all seriousness, I’ve watched Corey become a better version of himself since meeting you, Ka. Uh, more patient, more driven, and a hell of a lot nicer. So, uh, here’s to the bride and groom. Uh, may your life together be full of laughter, love, inside jokes, and the occasional argument that Ka will win. to Corey and Ka. Let’s hear it one more time for Cody, everybody. Hello everyone. I’m Bailey Winter. Okay. All right. So, to to Mr. and Mrs. plaster. Okay, so I’ve known Kaia since 8th grade, but it wasn’t until the summer going into sophomore year where I discovered she was my best friend. God knew I needed her and her entire family to make it through high school and the rest of my life. Those past three years and more, Ka naturally fit as the sick sister in my house, and her family became my home away from home. I can’t imagine what my life would have looked like without Kaia’s parents, Brent and Kim, selflessly taking me in when I’d spend weeks on end over at their house. Ka and her contagious laughter, adventurous spirit, and eternal humor. Oh gosh. has been the truest thoughtful and most loyal friends in my life. Oh gosh. And I’m and in so many others, I’m sure. Most of my experiences and memories with Kaya, good or bad, always end up being the best stories. For instance, uh wandering the streets through Santa Barbara at midnight with all of our suitcases trying to find the right apartment for hours. Starting a road trip through Nevada on an empty tank of gas. I never prayed so hard in my life. And exploring the most beautiful places like the Narrows and Mount Zions, my favorite. and hiking the volcano in Hakula on Maui and and running a few miles through San Francisco to catch the last train to your dorm room. Let’s just say I’m super fit when I’m around her. Oh gosh. Um yeah, it’s always an adventure and I absolutely love it. Um and besides each other, uh we’ve always had our romantic comedies. we’ve always uh or romantic comedies, The Wedding Date, Maid of Honor, The Wedding Planner, and hundreds more to get us through sleepovers, and all of the heartbreaks. Um, yeah, they’ve all shaped and highly influenced our dating decisions. I’ll never forget the man who showed up to the first date in a pair of sexy cowboy cowboy boots and with beautiful wavy hair. The first thing Ka told me after meeting Corey, he’s not quite Matthew McConna, but he comes pretty close. Oh gosh, he’s lost it. My gosh. Oh man. Okay, let’s see. Um, okay. Now Ka has met her match. Let’s see. Uh, not Oh, yeah. Not just anyone can truly steal or obtain the affections of Kaia’s heart or withstand all of her fiery sass and stubbornness. It takes a strong man with a good sense of humor and most important direction to help Kaia navigate through this crazy life. I can see the genuine love and the commitment you have for Ka Corey. It makes me so happy. I think I’m still in shock that my best friend has found an almost better friend to share this life together. My heart is so full and I’m so excited for these amazing adventures uh you both will share. This is beyond what I’d ever imagine for Ka. It’s so much more. Ka puts her whole heart and soul into everything she does. I mean, look at this wedding. I know all of you helped, but let’s be real, Kaia planned it. And I know Ka and Corey, you wouldn’t be here today with all the love and incredible support of all the amazing people here and those who remain in your hearts. I count myself completely blessed to be here. Okay, let’s shake these tears out. Okay, I count myself completely best blessed to be here and have both of you in my life forever and always. And I know oceans and mountains, distance and deserts will never keep me away. I’ll always be here for you both of you. I love you guys. So, let’s give a cheers to them. Oh gosh. So, yeah, like he said, I’m Tyler Jameson for those of you who don’t know me, but uh Corey has another name that he affectionately likes to call me Worm. I’ve known Corey since playing water pol. And uh I think it was probably my freshman year of college, his senior year of high school, we went out to a party. Wasn’t a good party. Uh, so we were leaving early and on the way out there was probably half of an 18 rack sitting there and we just grabbed it and took it home with us. Had a great time. If you known Cory as long as I have, you know he uh has a tendency to exaggerate things. Um, the next weekend we were talking to some of our friends and was like, “Yeah, last weekend, this is Corey here.” He goes, “We stole a whole 18 rack from this party.” And then a little bit later in the night, we talked to somebody else and he goes, “Yeah, we stole a whole 30 rack from this party.” One more person about another 30 minutes later says, “We stole two 30 racks from this party.” And at that point, I had to step in cuz he was going to tell somebody we robbed a liquor store. Um, but one thing Corey did not exaggerate about um is Ka for sure. I remember when I was first going to meet her. He he said, “I met this new girl, Ka.” He said, “She’s pretty. She’s smart. She’s funny.” I think we went to Pine Cove Karaoke Bar. And so I get up, sugar, we’re going down swinging. Absolutely kill it. Come back down. Everyone’s like, “Damn, that was awesome. That was great.” Corey goes up. I think he did higher by Creed. You maybe give an example after this. Um, but yeah, you could I’m getting out of order here, but uh I mean you could see Kai’s pretty just by walking in the room. You have one conversation with her. You know, she’s smart. But I wasn’t sure about the funny thing off the get-go. And uh so Corey does his song, comes back, he’s like, “How was it? Did I do good? Did I do good?” Kai goes, “Never do that again. Do not embarrass yourself like that.” And at that point, I knew Corey was not exaggerating, about her being pretty smart and funny. Um, I want to talk a little bit about um, just the kind of guy that Cory is. Um, two years ago, I was going through a little bit of a tough time emotionally. And Cory would call me every single week, if not more than once. And, uh, never asked him to. Didn’t really I don’t know if I’ve ever told you like how much it did matter to me cuz needed it. definitely needed it and didn’t ask and you just did it. So, he’s he’s a he’s one of the best friends I have. And Kaya, no matter what you’re going through at any time, he’ll be there for you regardless. Even if you don’t tell him, he’s going to know. So, um I had one last thing and now I’m blinking. Um, yeah, at the end of the day, um, I talked to Corey about my girl problems, but now Katie, Ka, you’re stuck with me with that group chat. Uh, and they actually hear about it before Nick and C Cor Corey do at this point. So, um, I want to thank you guys and congratulations you guys. I can’t wait to keep spending years and years with you guys from now on. So, cheers. Cheers. Keep it going for Tyler, everybody. And our final toaster of the evening, everybody. It’s another bridesmaid. Make some noise for Bin. [Applause] Hi everyone. Um, it’s a joy to be here with all of you guys today. It’s amazing to look around and see how much joy and love is so apparent. So many relationships and aspects in both Corey and Ka’s life. It’s just a joy to be a part of it. Um, my name is Bin and I’m really excited to share a little bit about both Corey and Ka. Ka, she has so many qualities that I’ve witnessed in our best friendship, but I know will contribute to her being an amazing wife. She has a really calm and gentle strength about her. She loves and protects those close to her. She’s driven, committed, and so loyal. Not only is she absolutely beautiful, I feel like we have to give it up for her. She looks so beautiful tonight. Look at her. Look at her. Oh my gosh. Um, but really more more than anything, um, it’s her inner beauty that really takes the cake. Um, Kaia stands up for her convictions and her beliefs in a way that I admire so so much. Um, she’s thoughtful, she’s selfless, and she’s smart. I mean, sheesh, Corey, safe to say that you have found the total package with this one. Ka, it’s a joy to watch you take on life’s changes, ups and downs, with so much grace and wisdom. Meeting you through such a silly and seemingly unimportant waitressing job, fun fact, um was clearly just the Lord orchestrating our lives to meet during a season where we both really needed it the most. um navigating loss and um just changes in life. Um that job was the best decision I ever made and now you stuck with me forever. So um although I knew Kaia before she met Corey, as soon as I met him, there was something immediately different and special about their interactions. Um from the beginning, Corey has been so much more to me than just my best friend’s boyfriend. Um he’s been my friend as well. And I know so many of Kaia’s close friends can say the exact same. Um, for a while, Corey was actually the only boy in our friend group, um, which we lovingly dubbed Corey and the Girls, which I’m so sure he is so excited that that’s retired now. Um, but no, he’s seen me through some seasons of life right alongside Ka. Um, especially the time he took me to the top of a Black Diamond at Kirkwood and said, “Good luck.” That might have been after both of my skis had fallen off and slid down the mountain. Um, but no, he waited for me every so many yards down the way. And I know I can attest the man of patience that he is. It’s just a joy to know your best friend is marrying someone so wonderful. Um, but in all honesty, Corey definitely set the bar so high just by watching the way he loves and admires Ka. Um, he’s been the epitome of a consistent and loving partner for Kaia. It’s evident in his actions that this happy go-lucky, charismatic, and genuine human being is just exactly who he is at his core. Corey, you’re the perfect match for Kaia. It’s been an honor to watch you two compliment each other so much um just by being exactly yourselves. We will always be cheering you on, ready to celebrate life’s triumphs and sit with you during the really hard days that may come. Um we love you so much. On that note, let’s lift a glass to both of you. We love you so much. Cheers. [Music] I like the way sparkling earrings lay against your skin so brown.
