Kai Trump may only be 18, but the eldest grandchild of US President Donald Trump has already found herself in hot water in the fashion industry after unveiling her first clothing line.
Her KT Signature collection went live last Thursday after first being teased as a big surprise, with a pre-sale of $130 pullover sweatshirts. NFL fans quickly pointed out that the logo stitched on her debut pieces looks suspiciously similar to the branding long used by Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. On Instagram, Kai posed as the line’s sole model, showing off 12 images of the unisex sweatshirts in white, navy, and black – some of them taken in front of the White House.
The items also feature her signature printed across the left arm above the wrist. “This collection is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time,” she wrote to her 2.2 million followers after showing off the item.
“From the quality of the fabric to the details in the designs, I wanted to create a piece that isn’t just merch but a staple you can wear anywhere. There are clean pieces you can mix, match, and make your own. I can’t wait to see how you style them.”

Her website states that the pre-sale will run for 10 days, and orders will be produced and shipped four weeks later.
Buyers’ payments were billed immediately in a business model that raised skepticism since the merchandise was not yet prepared for shipment.
But the scrutiny that really lit up social media was over her “KT” monogram logo, with a capital T tucked behind a K. Critics argued it looks less like “KT” and far more like “TK,” which happens to be Kelce’s initials.

Kelce’s initials are used in his clothing line, “Tru Kolors,” a collaboration with American Eagle, all while avoiding the brand’s “genes” drama with Sydney Sweeney. The line hit shelves with a strikingly similar logo with subtle differences in how the letters connect, and also features a “TK” in the same wrist area. His wool-cashmere blend pullovers sell for $99.99, nearly $30 less than Trump’s debut sweatshirts.
Outside of the logo similarity claims, Kai was criticized for not manufacturing anything yet (only taking pre-orders), especially as the product’s website detailed the organic cotton garments being produced in the USA.
Fans wasted no time chiming in, nearly all agreeing that the logo appeared to be a close copy.
“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” one wrote on X. “Kai Trump used Travis Kelce’s Tru Kolors logo for her $130 sweatshirt’s logo.”

Another fan rumbled, “Travis Kelce has long owned Tru Kolors and that brand logo for years. Trump’s granddaughter, Kai, stole his logo idea to hawk $130 sweatshirts off taxpayer-owned property.”
Kai modeled the sweatshirt while flying on Trump’s private jet to the Ryder Cup, where Team Europe dominated the USA. She also promoted the gear while golfing with him at his club, which critics suggested could further blur ethical lines.
