Emirates Golf Club added a new highlight to its tournament calendar with the launch of the Captains’ Unity Trophy — a competition created to celebrate community, connection, and new friendships on the course.
The event was the vision of Club Captains Sonal Gandhi and Scott Campbell, who wanted to bring members together and encourage players who might not usually partner up to share the fairways.
Played in a betterball match play format, the Lady Captain’s team faced off against the Men’s Captain’s team in a series of tightly contested matches. The men’s side edged out a narrow victory, finishing 9–8.5 after the opening round.

“The spirit of this tournament was never about competition alone — it was about unity,” said Lady Captain Sonal Gandhi. “We wanted to create an opportunity for members to connect and strengthen the bonds that make Emirates Golf Club so special.”
Club Captain Scott Campbell added: “The Captains’ Unity Trophy embodies what golf is truly about — shared experiences, sportsmanship, and friendships that extend beyond the 18 holes.”
The event was warmly received and looks set to become a cherished tradition at Emirates Golf Club.
