🔥 Ryder Cup shocker! Patrick Reed, one of Team USA’s most fiery Ryder Cup players in recent history, has revealed he WON’T be watching the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black after Keegan Bradley left him off the team. Reed admitted that his only chance of making the team would have been winning The Open at Royal Portrush—but after missing the cut, his Ryder Cup dream was dashed. Now, the 35-year-old says he’ll be cheering on Team USA from afar, but focusing on being a husband and father rather than glued to the TV. 👨👩👧👦

Patrick Reed has made it clear he won’t be tuning into this month’s Rder Cup at Beth Paige Black after being overlooked by US captain Keegan Bradley. The former Masters champion, who has long been associated with the banial contest, admitted earlier this year that his only realistic route back onto the team would have been to win the Open at Royal Portrait. Speaking ahead of LIIV Golf Dallas in June, Reed acknowledged the uphill task he faced as a LIIV player without access to RDER Cup qualifying points. It’s always on your mind, Reed said at the time. Anytime I get to represent my country, it means a lot to me. I’m always thinking about making every team, but being part of LIIV, where we don’t get points, it’s a battle. I knew it would come down to the open and having a chance to win there. But his campaign ended in disappointment. A first round 77 on the Dunloose Lynx left him chasing the cut line in Northern Ireland. And by the weekend, his hopes of a fourth Ryder Cup appearance were gone. Now 35, Reed has since explained why he won’t be watching when Bradley side attempts to reclaim the trophy on Long Island. Speaking to the Irish Mail after competing in last week’s Amjun Irish Open, he admitted his priorities have shifted. I’ll definitely be rooting for the boys, Reed said. But I don’t watch golf when I’m at home. I play so much and I’m always practicing and grinding. If I start watching, my mindset turns to analyzing everything. When I had my two little ones, I realized there’s life outside of golf. So, when I’m not practicing or playing, I’m being a dad, a husband, and just enjoying family time instead of being so locked in on golf. Reed isn’t the only LIIV player left disappointed by Bradley’s selections. Brooks Kepka, a five-time major winner and a key figure in the 2023 Ryder Cup, was also left out of the captain’s picks. Bradley returning to the RDER Cup for the first time in 13 years. This time as skipper named Justin Thomas, Colin Morawa, Ben Griffin, Patrick Kentlay, Sam Burns, and Cameron Young as his six wild cards. The 2025 RDER Cup begins on Friday, September 26th at Beth Page Black in New York.
