The PGA has unveiled its tournament schedule for 2026 which is designed to grow participation while also strengthening the financial sustainability of PGA tournaments.

The 2026 schedule, which is sponsored by Callaway and coincides with The PGA’s 125th anniversary, has been unveiled a month earlier than previous years, giving PGA Members more time to plan their competitive season.

New for 2026 is the PGA Sprint Series, which consists of nine one-day, pro-only events each carrying a £10,000 prize fund. Open to all Members across England and Wales, the PGA Sprint Series brings together several legacy events, including the Southern Open, Glazerite Trophy, East Anglian Open, North Championship, Southern Professional Championship, Midland Professional Championship, West Championship, Lancashire Open, and Wiltshire Open. The series tees off with the Southern Open at Sonning Golf Club on May 18 and concludes with the Wiltshire Open at Rushmore Golf Club on September 15.

Mottram Hall will host the Manchester Open in May

The Chrome Tour PGA Open Series remains at nine events, but visits six new venues in 2026, with prize money increased by 10% to £22,000 per event. Among the fresh stops are Mottram Hall in Cheshire, which hosts the Manchester Open in May, and Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth, the site of the Northern Open in June. Carlow Golf Club, one of the finest inland courses in Ireland, is a welcome addition to the Open Series schedule in July, and the series concludes with the prestigious Leeds Cup in August.

QHotels venue Slaley Hall, nestled in the heart of Northumberland, will host the flagship event of the Callaway PGA National Tournament Schedule, the PGA Professional Championship, in June. Forest Pines Golf Club – another QHotels venue – also features on this season’s schedule, as the Lincolnshire club hosts the PGA Super 60s Championship later in the summer.

In late June, the WPGA Professional & Assistants’ Championship will take place at Carden Park’s Cheshire Course. Home to PGA Captain Elect and Head Professional, David Llewelyn, Carden Park provides the perfect backdrop for the signature WPGA tournament in the Association’s 125th year.

Royal Dornoch will host the Senior PGA Professional Championship in May

Royal Dornoch – which previously hosted the Northern Open as part of the Callaway Chrome Tour Open Series – will welcome the Senior PGA Professional Championship in May, while the Welsh National PGA Championship moves to Conwy – hosts of the Curtis Cup in 2021 and 2024 PGA Professional Championship venue – in September.

The Scottish and Irish PGA Championships will each benefit from a £10,000 investment for 2026. The Scottish PGA Championship is set to take place at East Kilbride Golf Club in late August, while the venue for the Irish PGA Championship is still to be confirmed – further details will be shared in due course.

The WPGA Series schedule, Regional Pro-Ams and revamped Winter Series and Senior and Trainee tournaments will be revealed in two weeks’ time.

Commenting on the 2026 schedule, Richard Barker PGA, Executive Director – Business Development said: “We’re pleased not only to announce the tournament schedule even earlier than 2025, but also that we’re able to showcase the action being taken in line with our overarching tournament strategy, which I would encourage Members to familiarise themselves with, If they haven’t already.

“We continue to uphold our commitment to consistent communication with PGA Members to explain the changes being made to their tournaments, and now we’re taking it a step further by demonstrating how those changes directly impact PGA Members, delivering tournaments that better meet the needs of the Association and our Membership.”
