Just two days on from helping Team Europe to victory in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage, going unbeaten across four matches, Tyrrell Hatton is in Scotland for the defence of his Alfred Dunhill Links Championship title. A year ago, the Englishman became the first three-time winner of the tournament. Joining him are countrymen Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick, the latter a fellow past champion, along with Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre. The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is played over St Andrews’ Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, three world-renowned links courses, culminating in the final day on the Old Course. Fitzpatrick is among the Major Champions from six countries teeing it up this week as a strong international field assembles. The 2022 U.S. Open winner is joined by fellow Englishman Danny Willett, Ireland’s Pádraig Harrington, who is trying to equal Hatton’s record as a three-time winner, Germany’s Martin Kaymer, Australia’s Cameron Smith, South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen and American quartet Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson as players to have won Majors. PGA TOUR winners Tony Finau, Aldrich Potgieter and Harry Hall are also among those in action, while a host of winners on this season’s Race to Dubai are targeting more silverware, including Norway’s Kristoffer Reitan and France’s Adrien Saddier.

The wind is directly straight out of the left hand side with it just a little in two. So you’re going to slice this by the looks of things back into that breeze. Nice. Perfect. Absolutely perfect. The breeze is so strong, so I think you’ll take dead aim and just try to hold on to it a little. It’s all a matter of getting it pin high. Yeah, spot on. Really is all about hitting them pin high today. Giving yourself the best available chances. That’s still pretty good for McIntyre. This doesn’t want to move a lot. This part linewise, but windwise, it’s humming out of the left right now. Will it hit it? And it will. Good call. Great put. This is hugely impressive, isn’t it, for Bob McIntyre. Five birdies. No drop shots through the first 10 holes over the old course at St. Andrews. Can’t not be in there. So Willie with the seven iron. Just send it deep in there. That’s the way I see it. So 165, let’s say 175 yardage and then the wind will do its thing off that little slope behind. Little bit surprising that hasn’t fed down. He’s still watching it thinking it will, but obviously just caught a bit of a flat spot. Six feet would be job well done. Little bit of a misjudgment. Time to recover though. Absolutely stunning. Look at that. Nice. Oh, big cut. Big cut. Good save. commercial. Big seven holes coming up now. So just jockeying for position. Wheels trying to hit it way down the left. Well, he could hit it left or he could hit it right, but there’s a middle. There’s three bunkers and all of a sudden they’re all in the middle of the fairway. It’s just a matter of which side. I kind of like left because that gives you more of an angle back into the breeze, Andrew. But it’s humming out here now. It really is. The grass is growing into him, into the ball. It’s coming back towards him. So, he needs to be aggressive down at the ball. I don’t think it’ll jump, but it could. So, a flatout wedge allowing for a jumper. It’s an interesting play. Very nearly got got it right. I have to say, I’ve played that hole probably 100 times, Andrew. I’ve never actually known what to do off that tea when it’s howling into Yeah. No, very very difficult because the bunkers are exactly in the landing area. Let’s put this all in perspective. We haven’t even played three rounds and this lad is 17 under par in a gale. It’s some going Andrew. Yeah, I couldn’t agree more. I think scoring has been incredible uh over these last, let me see, three and a half days. Yeah, especially when you think how much last week must have taken out of the European Rider Cupers to remain at 17 under. Four clear of the rest. Okay, good work. Strong work. Not an easy two up from down there. Contend with the coffin bunkers on the very next hole. It’s a less than driver. Even this club right here, he could run out. But it’s not an issue. Even if he does run out, just as long as you avoid many a sandy grave. Yes, it’s a big decision to make because driver obviously carries all the bunkers. Not an issue, but then you end up through the fairway in the in the tufty stuff on the ups slope. Easy, easy. Yeah, that’s fine. there. Slightly blocked out by the GS, but yeah, he’s gone right through the avenue. I’d be surprised if he even knew that bunker was there. Well, yeah. Points the other way, doesn’t it? He could bump this if he so chooses, but I doubt it. You got to play the percentages, so expect this just by it. I can’t believe out of the rock the shots they’re hitting. I’m going over to look at those grooves. That’s unreal. Yeah, that’s one hand on the trophy. That right there. [Applause] We got a an old stone dyke down the right hand side. You don’t want to go over that to the right hand side onto the other course. Trackman following the ball flight there. Yeah, that’s okay. 256 yards for Robert McIntyre. Another wind straight down out of the right hand side and the wind is starting to lull. Got himself a foreign coming straight over the top of hell bunker trying to chase it in there leaking right towards those bunkers. All depends how close to the face that’s gone. I thought he’d go a little bit further right than that. He said he didn’t put a good enough swing on it. Here’s McIntyre at 14 going out sideways. I tell you what, that was a great shot to get it out. That went up the revened face, made its way up, straight back down and semi plug. To get it out was incredible. He took no time whatsoever to play that. And he’s made a sterling job of it. Yeah, just having a little moment there. Firmly into an abrupt up slope on this 14th green. stun it and get it to dribble over the top. 10 ft past would be more than acceptable. That is incredible. I mean, he played one on the last. That is just out unbelievable. Mindblowing. Yeah, that’s a work of art. This to get out of 14 with a well- earned par. Awesome. [Applause] Crow is pulling them along. They want their Scottish winner. Of course they do. Can you blame them? Bang on 100. Just out of the semi makes all the difference. One bounce, a little bit of check, and then release. He’s been phenomenal today from this range. He’s feeling it. the hole. It was such a gorgeous angle, but you still got to execute and he does. It’s another cracking opportunity for McIntyre. The wind is out of the right hand side and it’s dying. It’s gorgeous out here now. The temperature g temperature has gone up 5°. It’s truly a magnificent autumal day now. Oh, he’s going to be gutted with that one. Furious. Wasn’t sweaty, Johnny. What’s up, Rita? That wasn’t easy the part. It was a double breaker and the wind out of the right. So, he’s hold his fair share. Let’s face it. True. Uh stage four clearly hatton has a chance to get within five that says m that means come on Bob in Scots. I don’t know that. Thanks for the insight there. Trying to slide it off the out of bounds down the right hand side at the left edge of the old court hotel and just sort of slice it a little. Yeah, nice bail out you call it Wayne down that left hand side opens up the pin location up on that right. The lie is so good. But he’d love this to dig its toes in and then just release. But I’m not so sure the lie is that good. It could stand to attention. He’s aggressive with this. Unbelievable. Exhibition golf. He’s been flagging it. Wes plays been sublime today. Gently uphill. Just what you want. Doesn’t want to move a lot. The wind has just blusted up a little a little out of his right. That’s a big birdie there with the challenge of 17 still to come. You can almost put this out of reach even from the surge in Sterling. Does he have the courage to hit it way right? If I was a betting man, I think just left rough just a little. Being so far in front. You caught it, Wayne. Everyone’s dodging. Oh, and it’s nestled down. It looks like just hidden out of sight from us. Got your target. Yeah, that’s really good stuff in the respect of the same wedge shot as the last. That’s what he’s got to play for around 120. The yardage is 146. So, we got to play this kind of to the front as if it jumps. It might meander up onto the top step. If it doesn’t, so be it. [Applause] It’s on the surface and job done. To be fair, he fancy his chances. He’s been awesome today and every aspect of his game. He’s been it’s been a privilege to watch. So big for him winning the Scottish Open and she’ll win this as well. If he is to win anything, the wind pushing that added all that speed. was quicker than I thought it would be. It’s got to be a little hookie putt for him left to right, which is ideal. He hasn’t missed any putts today of this length. Hasn’t looked like missing one, but it is the road hole at St. Andrews. It has a many story to tell. Are you getting me? Well, how many? So going to be three in front. You maybe get that impression there that that bird there on 16. They have been impeccably timed, but of course he has another chance at the last. He’s gone from playing offense all day as well, isn’t he? With the way he’s playing to a hole that just simply won’t let you. You have to go under the defense. There’s a six or a seven waiting if you come unstuck. And as much as he’s annoyed with five, it’s not the end of the world, especially if he can squeeze a three out of the final hole. Gap currently three. This is perfect for for Robert McIntyre. If he hits a knuckle, he could find himself past back edge. But with the wind just lulling a little and the protection from the buildings, the old Russ Hotel and it’s a bit Bailey down the left side, but that’s absolutely fine. It’s as if it’s right down the gut of that fairway. There’s no problems over that. Straight at the big old clock on the clubhouse they say. Just trying to nudge this in there low. Kill it into a little upslo to the side of this green left hand side. Stun it and then release it up to it. Beautiful tight lie. Divine touch pretty much punctuation mark on what he’s delivered across the three days. He has been the best and by a margin spiritual place and a magical touch exhibited from McInty. No wonder he’s smiling. The scene is set for 19 under. That’ll always hurt. Last hole. Miss putt in front of your home fans. Keeps alive a glimmer. And it is only a glimmer of hope for Sterny. But look at that. 366 is in these conditions. That’s going to be hard to best. Yeah, tremendous golf from Scotland’s start. Robert, you are the Dunhill Links Champion Champion of 2025. How’s that sound to you? No, unbelievable. Anytime you can win a golf tournament on on these shores is is special. But um yeah, just delighted the way I done it. I played played really nice over the three days and yeah, here we are. I feel as though I out there calling the shots there today with you and I was very impressed. You played wonderfully well. I mean, it was such a distinct advantage to be used to these sort of weather. Would this sort of weather? Would you say that’s fair? Yeah, it is. It’s just the biggest thing is being able to maneuver the golf ball um and not be scared. I mean, the biggest thing on the three golf courses is stay out the pot bunkers. Um especially off the tea. And I done that well apart from the first hole at Kuste the first day. Um other than that, I thought I managed it well. Stayed out the pot bunkers. But then once you’re in position, it’s about controlling the golf ball to to then land softly around the pins when you when you get a chance. And um I thought me and Mike done done a great job in that. You’re the Genesis Scottish Open champion a few years back and now winning this huge championship once more. I mean with all your home folk here, it must be a blast. Yeah. No, it’s brilliant. Um I don’t know how how we’re going to celebrate after um the celebration we had last Sunday. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, tell us about that, too. Yeah, we’ll we’ll um we’ll try our best. I don’t know if it’ll be tonight, but it’ll be over the next couple of weeks, we’ll have a nice celebration and yeah, it’s just look, anytime you can win, it’s difficult to win and yeah, it’s just a a beautiful ending to a good week. I mean, how did you do that? I mean, such a everyone’s so very proud of the team, the Ryder Cup team that triumphed over there. It was just so amazing. We all watched it and as I say, very proud. I mean, where did you muster up so much energy? To be honest, I don’t know. I had a laugh and when we were driving the buggy back down to the clubhouse. Um, I’ve done everything against the book this week. Um, from preparation, I pitched up Wednesday afternoon. I know the golf course has played about 12 holes on on Wednesday. The diet has not been good this week. I can confirm that. I’ve eaten plenty of takeaways. Um, you’re not Robinson Cruso on a desert island, let me tell you. And um the fish and chips get a workout up here. Fish and chips. Um plenty of others. But yeah, it’s been it’s been uh yeah, sometimes when when you’re least expecting it, things happen. And it was the same when I won in Canada. It was everything that I wanted to do, I didn’t do. And yeah, here we are this week. Congratulations, Robert McIntyre. You’re a great champion and a worthy one. Thank you. Very worthy champion. [Applause] To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.

Great win but ugly trophy 🏆
Bobby: "A big piece"
Crowd: "What do you know about that"
Had me dying 🤣
Very well done this year Rob, from a fellow left hander. Should put you in the World's top ten. I hope you don't move on to LIV next year. Want to see you bag a Major or two.
They shouldn't let dogs on the golf course.
Only great concentration meant he wasn't put off.
Well done Bob.
If he feels like it, he will be a major champion pretty soon. He's game is already at that level. Just let it fly…
This ought to be shown to American fans, as a lesson on spectator respect, of good golf. Congratulations to Bob MacIntyre, for the win and to the organisers, for putting on a return to sane golf, for the competitors, both professional and amateur. I have admiration for them all.
Hope he’s got a big mantle piece.
This aussie announcer is just the worst. Such forced emphasis on every moment he chirps in on. Such a hack.
