American golf fans are better than European golf fans. [Applause] I don’t even know where to start. There’s no I mean mashed potato and all that that you hear is madness. In the hole. Get in the hole. It’s a 600 yard par five. You idiot. You ever turned around and said that? I actually just want to borrow the taser or like the security guard just to let one go per hole would be amazing. Imagine that you got one taser per hole. That’d be awesome. How good. Right between the eyes. Have it. You’ve actually thought this through. Has the heckling gone too far then? It’s not heckling. It’s just complete and utter embarrassing stupidity. Uh, we don’t get very open championship. You don’t get it anywhere. Like it’s it’s only in America the stupid the stupidness comes out. This is just a UK channel, right? Mainly perfect. Say you’ve gone to town. H I mean it’s just so annoy. It’s annoying. It’s like there’s no need for it, right? Our fans when they come and watch golf are very respectful. I’m not completely dissing the American fans because the atmosphere in America is amazing. I think the understanding of a good shot just roasted them. Well, I’m not dissing you really. But um there are a number of times in the states where you can hit you can hit four iron to say 15 feet and that’s a great shot but no one up the green’s clapped. You s and you kind of like oh you thought you thought you’d miss the green if it’s a you can’t see where the ball’s finished. You get up there you’re like me it’s a tough crowd. It’s like you walk up on the green you like you actually want to give yourself a cl. Is that no good enough?

  1. Ian is so funny. Yeah IN THE HOLE shouting is just so dumb and stupid. 😂

  2. Ian Poulter can take some of the blame for this steady increase in bad behaviour I believe, culminating in the Bethpage fiasco.

  3. Lets all not go to events so these two clowns can go play the dp tour where there's less money. Why would you go and support players like this who think of you this way.

  4. LOL thats why golf is the worse sport to watch. just no fun rich people hitting balls.
takes it way to serious. imagine if real athletes played this sport

  5. Right. Ask Brian Harmon about that when he was mercilessly ridiculed by British fans in his way to winning the open. Plenty of golf fans everywhere have become idiots.

  6. It's a gentlemen's game and fans can cheer for their Country, as they should but to be disrespectful to the members of the other team is outrageous and lacks class. Keep in mind that these players regularly play in tournaments together all season long and little of this stuff goes on. They (Ryder Cup) may not play in the States again unless security becomes no nonsense…..kinda like ICE.

  7. Yes, they have shown to disrespect the sport and the European players. Distasteful and very unsophisticated.

  8. Ian Poulter….I present to you an honorary Aussie citizenship for speaking the brutally honest truth.

  9. Real hot take here but golf is a sport these professionals are playing for us to be entertained. If you don’t want crowd noise don’t play professionally

  10. It’s the same for most sports, here in the US the fans come up with some of the most cringeworthy embarrassing chants too. Europeans far better

  11. Ironically many Americans try to cling to European heritage by idetifying as Scots American, or Irish American etc

Yet when the Ryder Cup comes around they abuse the Europeans at every turn

    Absolutely fuckwits

  12. Can you imagine what American crowds will be like the next time the Ryder Cup is played in the US………especially if it is on a Trump course?

  13. It is one thing if the chants were witty and creative.. But when you need a comedian to start your chants and the best you come up with is "fuck you, Rory" – you might aswell have stayed at home. The one good clip is the american saying to Rory "you don't need a tie to choke". I feel like they just lack all creativity.. You can go back 20+ years and they are still shouting "mashed potatoes" and "get in the hole", do something different, for once….

  14. He's 100% correct. The really good US golf fans don't go to pga events cause they don't want to deal with the idiots. We go to lpga event's. Much more family friendly.

  15. Hatton last comment about the 4iron shot… he's fucking bang on… bang fucking on

  16. It's not all American fans, but the ones that do act like that are pure trash. Act like friggin adults. Are their lives that shallow? Yes…..yes they are.

  17. Wow, the number of Americans on here not giving poults a hard time. Shows, how right he is, and how the true American fans are upset by the fans at the ryder cup. I hope the irish fans at the 2027 match are better behaved. The way the Americans treated Rory i wouldnt like to be i ln their shoes. If Kegan Bradley qualifies, he is in for some shit.

  18. I’m American, and I hate it. The dumb mashed potatoes, baba bo’ee, ect. It sucks, you suck as person, and it’s embarrassing as an American.
