HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Led by Maline Kraus’ 2-under 70, the University of Hawai’i women’s golf team shot a final round 3-over 291 Sunday in the final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at the University of Denver Golf Course at Highlands Ranch.
 
The 291 was UH’s best round of the tournament and fourth lowest on the day among the 15-team field. The Rainbow Wahine finished in 11th place at 893.
 
Vanderbilt went wire-to-wire to capture the team title at 840 followed by Colorado and Texas State, who each posted 853 in the 54-hole event. Vandy’s Elizabeth Rudisill edged out teammate Ava Merrill by one stroke to capture medalist honors at 10-under 206.
 
Kraus rebounded from a second round 81 to finish at 8-over 224 and a tie for 45th place along with newcomer Jasmine Wong, who shot a final round 78 in her first competition as a Rainbow Wahine. Kraus birdied three straight holes on the front nine and only posted one bogey on her round.
 
Emiko Sverduk and freshman Chloe Ku each shot 1-over 73 on Sunday. Sverduk tied for 49th at 225 while Ku tied for 61st at 228. Sofina Firouzi shot 75 and tied for 56th at 227.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Oct. 20-22 at Ocean Course at Hokuala in Līhu’e, Kaua’i.
