DENVER, Colo. – Tulane women’s golf dropped down two spots in the standings of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate to sit in seventh among 15 teams after the second round of competition. The Green Wave shot a team score of 295 (+7) in round two on Saturday bringing the team 36-hole score to 581 (+5).
While celebrating her birthday on the course Saturday junior Sophia Chen paced the Wave in round two shooting a 72 (E) with a pair of birdies. She climbed up five spots on the overall leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 143 (-1 – 71, 72) which puts her tied for 15th.
Christina Albertazzi moved up one spot in the standings into a tie for 19th after shooting a 73 (+1) with two birdies in the second round. The sophomore ended Saturday with a two-round score of 144 (E – 71, 73) with seven total birdies.
Next up on the leaderboard for Tulane through 36-holes was Francesca Pompa who ended round two tied for 36th with a total score of 147 (+3 – 73, 74). She led the Wave on Saturday with five birdies to bring her tournament total to eight through two rounds.
Gabriella Gilrowski finished day two of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate tied for 55th overall with a 36-hole score of 151 (+7 – 71, 80). Meanwhile, Sophia Macias rounded out the group for the Green Wave tied for 75th in the tournament with a score of 155 (+11 – 79, 76) through two rounds.
UP NEXT
Tulane will finish play with the third and final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Sunday. Teams will tee off in a shotgun start beginning at 9:45 a.m. CT.
