An insider into Keegan Bradley’s Team USA has claimed the hosts failed to prepare adaquately in comparison to Europe at Bethpage Black in the lead up to the 2025 Ryder Cup.
The unsubstantiated information was published on X / Twitter by Rick Golfs, who goes by the popular golf social media handle @Top100Rick – an account that has 65k followers.
Rick posted a lengthy tweet with a screen grab of a text message he received from an anonymous source with supposed information into Bradley’s team.
“It’s 100% verified,” claims Rick.
The insider claims Bradley’s side played just nine of the holes at Bethpage Black twice before the start of the Ryder Cup.

They then played just five more holes across the road because it had started to rain.
Luke Donald’s Team Europe on the other hand are said to have played Bethpage Black a total of eight times in the 10 days leading into the Ryder Cup.
If that information is indeed true then it ultimately shows since Europe stormed into a seven-point lead heading into the Sunday singles.

Although USA mounted a valiant fightback on the final day, it was too little too late as Europe held on to win by two points (15-13) and become the first away team to lift the Ryder Cup since 2012.

“This is from an insider who was on premise all week at Bethpage and it’s 100% verified,” wrote Rick on X / Twitter.
“This person wants it known that it wasn’t just pairings and setup. Team USA simply didn’t prepare!

“Why did Team USA start off seemingly lost? Why couldn’t they read a green for two days? How was Europe so ready?
“Is it so simple that Team USA barely played Bethpage Black, while Team Europe played it over and over?
“Imagine how much better they would know the course with 7-8 plays versus 1-2 plays for the Americans.
“This is hugely embarrassing.
“We have all been focused on the setup and pairings, rightly. But if this is accurate, Team USA simply didn’t play the course they were playing for the Cup enough!

“This person gave permission for me to release this info.
“He/She wants it known how unserious the USA team took this event.
“There is real anger that the USA Team presents that they are 100% invested, when in reality that’s not true.
“Or at least they didn’t prepare like it’s a major. If this is true, I’m p****d and all team USA fans should be p****d.”
The insider’s message read as follows:

“…but the bigger problem was how poorly the team prepared.
“Europe played 18 holes eight times in the 10 days leading up to Friday.
“The U.S.? They played nine holes twice — and the one rainy day, they hit five holes across the road. It felt like they just didn’t care.
“Europe knew those greens, those pins, and those conditions inside and out, while the U.S. was sitting in the clubhouse having lunch.
“It struck me as really strange, and probably something the public will never hear about since it all happened behind closed doors.”
