2025 NDSU/UND Dual Final Results



GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Senior Jake Skarperud claimed an individual victory in the North Dakota State men’s golf dual against North Dakota on Thursday at the Grand Forks Country Club.
 
Skarperud (69-72—141) added five birdies and eight pars to finish at an even par in the final round to hold his lead and win the event by two strokes over runner-up Nate Peyerl of North Dakota. This event marks Skarperud’s second win as a Bison.
 
Carter White (80-67—147) matched his career-low round of 67 to finish -5 in the second round.  White, who played as an individual, fired six birdies and 11 holes at par to climb three slots and finish in a tie for ninth.
 
Rylin Petry (76-69—145), Gabe Benson (74-70—144), and Andrew Ballou (79-71—150) all carded rounds below par to wrap up scoring for the Bison. Petry fired six birdies and nine holes at par to finish -3 on the day and +1 overall in a tie for sixth. Benson notched three birdies and 14 holes at par to finish -2 in the final round and landed in a tie for third at an even-par. Ballou recorded three birdies and the lone NDSU eagle of the event to finish -1 on the day at +6 overall in 12th.
 
Freshman Joey Mackinac (80-73—153) finished +1 in the final round with four birdies to end in 13th at +9. Max Wilson (80-76—156) and Carter Spalding (80-76—156) held matching scorecards once again, both finishing +4 on the day and in a tie for 14th at +12 overall. Mackinac and Spalding both competed as individuals at the event.
 
As a team, the Bison (298-282—580) tied their second lowest round for the season at -6. The Bison fell to rival North Dakota (298-277—575) by five strokes.
 
NDSU will return to action in one week at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational. The tournament will be at The Reserve At Spanos Park in Stockton, California on October 9-11.
