CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the second time this season, High Point University swept the Big South Conference Women’s Golf weekly awards as Makayla Grubb was named Big South Golfer of the Week and Eva Lye was garnered with Big South Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.

This is Grubb third straight weekly accolade and her first as Big South Golfer of the Week, while being named Big South Freshman of the Week marks Lye’s first weekly honor of her young career.

Grubb tied for third at the Pat Bradley Invitational (par 72, 6,002 yards) with a 2-over 218 (73-75-70).  She had a tournament-best 11 birdies for her best collegiate finish, and was High Point’s top finisher in the 71-player field.

Lye played through her first 36-hole day as well, tying for 28th at the Pat Bradley Invitational with a 227 (75-76-76), which featured six birdies.  She recorded two birdies in each round, and contributed to the Panthers’ third-place finish in the 12-team event.

Up Next: The Panthers had to East Carolina’s Pirate Collegiate Classic next week for fall break Monday, Oct. 6 through Tuesday, Oct. 7 in Greenville, N.C.
