How to choose the right launch monitor for your golf simulator
Choosing the right launch monitor can make or break your golf simulator. So, what’s the secret? Well, if you’ve got less than 14 feet of room length, you’ll need a camerabased launch monitor like Square Golf, Skyrack, or Foresight GC3. They all sit just beside your golf ball, and you don’t need much ball flight to accurately record your data. If you’ve got more than 14 ft, you can choose between camera or radar launch monitors. Radar devices like the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro, Flight Scope Meo Plus, or Trackman 4 need about 10 ft of ball flight before it hits your screen to track the shot accurately. And if your ceiling is at least 2.7 m or 9 ft high, you can go for a ceiling mounted launch monitor like the ProTVX Unicor Exo2 or Trackman IO out of the way for a super clean setup. So before you buy, measure your space, the length and the height, and even your ball flight room. Pick the launch monitor that actually works for your setup, not just the one that you’ve seen the pros using on tour.
