A woman living with dementia said she had never been tempted to play the sport until she was diagnosed with the condition.
Vicki Atkinson, 75, from Morecambe, is among the players who have signed up to dementia-friendly golf sessions at Heysham Golf Club in Lancashire.
The club is the first in the north-west of England to join forces with the charity ‘Fore’ Get Me Not Golf to roll out the sessions.
“It wasn’t something that I thought I might enjoy, but absolutely enjoy it,” she said.
