MADISON, Ill. – Bradley Men’s Golf set a new single-round program record in the final round of the Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Ill., on Sept. 30.
The team shot a final-round score of 276, surpassing the previous program record of 277 set in round two of the Hoosier Invitational on April 1, 2017. Carter Stevenson (66, -5), Weston Walker (68, -3) and Joey Cerney (69, -2) all carded rounds under 70, while Brody McCarthy fired a third-round score of 73.
Carter Stevenson finished tied for fourth place with a career-low-tying score of 205, highlighted by his final-round score of 66. Over three tournaments at Gateway National Golf Links during his Bradley career, Stevenson holds a career round score average of 68.67 strokes per round and a tournament score average of 206. The fourth-place effort is Stevenson’s top finish this season.
Graduate student Weston Walker finished in the top 20 for the first time in his Bradley career, scoring a three-under-par 210 to finish tied for 18th. His final-round score of 68 marks a new career low for the Peorian.
Elsewhere, Joey Cerney finished tied for 68th with a six-over-par 219. Cerney’s final-round score of 69 marked the first time he has fired a sub-70 round in his collegiate career. Brody McCarthy finished tied for 73rd at 220, while Brogan Smith finished tied for 77th at 222 with a career-low 71 in the final round.
As a team, Bradley finished tied for ninth out of 19 scoring teams with a score of 848 (292-280-276). The 54-hole score is the second-lowest in program history, behind only the 2024 Dolenc Invitational, when the team scored a record-setting 846.
