I’m building my own Disc Golf course!!
Oh, hey there. Welcome back to 7 for no reason. Oh yeah. [Applause] What up everyone? Welcome back to the channel and welcome to my woods. Woohoo. What a dream. Um the house search we did um now just over a year ago, actually lasted over a year, we were looking for the right property, something where I could uh check off my to-do list in life to build my own little backyard disc golf course, whatever that means. It can it could really mean a lot of things. A disc golf course can be really anything. and I found this spot and I have about fiveish acres of woods around my house and I’ve been spending some time and money in here trying to clean it up. You can see it’s still a complete um what would you call this? Battlefield. Um, yeah, this basically you couldn’t really see through these woods and let alone walk through them properly. I kind of walked it before I purchased the house and I could tell, yeah, with the big trees being spaced out enough and you just clear the underbrush, it has potential. So, let’s check it out. I do have a handful of baskets in here already. They’re not permanent or anything. Everything will move around. No teapads yet. Hopefully this off season I can play my first official round out here. But yeah, this has been quite the project. And from a course designer’s perspective, this was double challenging because I can do anything I want, which is not really your uh standard course design. And I can’t just do anything I want. They can also crissross or go in multiple directions off of one teapad. So, I uh spent a lot of time walking circles here and trying to figure out what I like, what I want, what makes sense, and I broke my brain a couple times. But, let me show you. This is kind of the top and back corner of the property up here. What I’m looking at, we had some uh woods guides come out yesterday. So, the debris here will be shredded and chipped I think on Monday, but we have a nice little corridor right here to a basket. You see that? Let me throw a little pixel at it. I haven’t really thrown many shots back here at all. So, this is a this is a life’s firstish. Here we go. Let’s see what happens. Oh, the pixel floater. Sit. All right, it’s a putt. See if I can get an ace off of three tries. Oh, same exact spot. Makes it easy to find. Oh, what a kick. The teapad for this hole back here. I think the teapad will be a bit further behind you up there. I have rough markings out here, but once everything is cleaned up, everything’s probably going to change. Oh, come on. Heiser, no. Same spot. Cut that tree. Is it more or less exciting to have entire creative freedom out here? I mean, it it is it’s very exciting to have full creative freedom. I want to say it definitely feels a little bit wrong and weird to kind of point at trees and deciding like this goes, this goes, this goes. Something about that just doesn’t feel right to me. But I guess I don’t know what I guess. It kind of is what it is, right? So, how many holes you have out here? So, basically I have 10 baskets. Um, one’s kind of just a practice basket. So, I think nine baskets on the course, nine teapads, and every teapad goes to three different baskets. I mean, theoretically, any teapad can go to any basket cuz it’s really a compact space here. Does it feel like a playground almost? I’d say 27 somewhat thought of holes. One being like an Aceron, one being like a mid-range or fairway driver, and one being a more challenging longer hole. It was a process mapping this out and I bet it’s still going to change. What’s one of your favorite holes out here? Um, I don’t know yet. Probably a back corner there. There’s a nice little valley shot we can go to and play. I have a little ace run right here. This would definitely be a first ace. Oh, get lucky. Right through the gap in. Oh my god. What tree did that hit? I thought I missed that. Maybe I go left side. Oh yeah, that’s it. Well, the real reason I wanted this course for uh besides the obvious reasons. Come on, glide. Glide metal. Is that I actually think it’s going to make me a significantly better disc golfer because if you have the power to just walk out of your back door onto a little course, I mean, that’s how champions are made, right? I really hope I can like make it a routine to just come out here, throw for 30 minutes, cuz I think that makes a big difference. Cuz when I’m home, usually I don’t play at all ever. our backside of the property now. Little downhill valley shot back up to the right. There’s also a basket up to the left. Always need options. I’m going to try to get to the one to the right. Bit too much turn. All right. Not bad. Pixel is probably not my uh disc of choice in this shot. Get lucky. Back door. Hold it. Hold it. Go in. Just snuck it through all the trees. Oh no. Oh, what a good kick. Good kick. Wow. All right, we’re going back up the hill. Oh, those pixels just want to go dead straight. Good distance, though. Pretty good. That was close, I think. [Music] Come on. Come on. [Music] Dude, all over it already. I feel like a better player. Huge shout out and thank you to Avon for sponsoring this video. This is the Avon treadmill and this is called Gamifi Fitness. Check it out. So, this thing is pretty fun. You got all the apps you could ever want if you want to watch TV shows, YouTube. It’s got all that. Today we’re actually going to look at the games you can play while working out and we’re going to dive into fishing frenzy. Let’s try this. We’re just going to go here for something quick and easy. Let’s start this. My workout journey has uh been lots of peaks and valleys. Um, it’s always really tough for me to feel motivated and find time and really enjoy the workout process. So, Avon came in pretty clutch to gify it and make it like exciting and fun and different. By changing the elevation of my treadmill, I can have the bait go up and down. And then by increasing or decreasing the speed, I can deplete the energy of the fish. Oh, there’s a shark. Damn, I missed the shark. All right, let me try to masterfully get the next big one here. Don’t get the eel. Oh my god, what are the odds? Zero points. I failed on every level. Let’s get the shark. Come on. Yes, I got the shark. Got to go faster. Deplete. Faster. What am I going here? [Music] I only have 20 seconds left. That must be big points. 1,800. All right. 5 minutes. I’m done. So, score 6,379. Beat that. probably shockingly easy to beat. All right, so you can head over to avonactive.com and get an additional $50 off any product on their website by using code simon50 or check out the QR code right here. Back to the video. Oh, all right. Postworkout meditation. This is my absolute happy place in the world is at a pool table. I can’t even really explain why. I just love it so much. All right, let’s try to get a little first game of the day. Little break and run for everyone. [Applause] Made one off the break. That is step one. Now you scan the table, analyze what is the problems, what looks better. I’m telling you right now, stripes is a serious chance to get a little one tag break and run. Plate the gap nicely. Now I’m in the spot where I have options and I think I can get back into the same spot of this ball. pretty good. I have options again. Maybe I like tackling these three. The 11 is pretty straight in. Maybe slight don’t really feel like forcing it in. So, I’m going to go 13 off the wall here. Try to get a bit more over here to have a choice for the nine or 11. Didn’t hit it hard enough. That’s okay. There’s always plan B in pool, which is why I love it. Quick think break. The 10 goes over there. So that’s a double insurance basically if this goes wrong, which it could. I’m going to try to use the two. Almost good. Needed a tiny bit more stun on the white is what you call it. This shot’s a little tricky, but doable. Do I go for the nine? That’s pretty tough. It’s pretty tough. I don’t want to mess this up. I’m too competitive with myself. A You can make the 10, dude. Just Just make it. Oh. [Applause] tragic. One little mistake and that’s game. Let’s try to clear try to clear the solids real quick. Not the perfect shot. Little top spin. Clear that problem up. didn’t create another problem by doing that, which is always a bonus. Three long. Now we got options here, which is really nice. That was actually a lazy shot. Ah, also a little short. See if it’s savable. Got to play the luck here. That was Please never show that shot. Wait, that might still go in. I called the pocket. No. All right, this is a waste of time at this point. Yeah, we’re two rounds in MVP open and round one was really bad conditions and I kept it together pretty well. Two really, really unnecessary bogeies. But I guess everyone was kind of struggling a bit that day. But put myself on lead card, tie for second. And yesterday was going so smooth, dude. I was like kind of cruising like this comfortable. So many birdie chances. It was like almost ridiculous. cuz like I could have been like again 8 n under through like 14 holes pretty easily and I just started overthinking. Ah overthinking the putting green sometimes I like it’s so sad like I like feel like if I’m doing too well it like scares me and I feel like it can’t be I feel like I’m not actually that good. So, I feel like it shouldn’t happen like that easily. And then I’m in my head about it. It’s really backwards. Kind of weird after so many years of doing this whole time. Doesn’t make sense. And had a really rough finish to the round. A round that was going pretty well. Should have been on lead card again, but I finished four over on the last three holes to put myself into tie for ninth right now. So, I’m on third card playing with Eagle today. We have about 3 hours till tea off. And yeah, the leaders are already six strokes away now or something. [Applause] Hello. Albert. Hello. Hello. Watch out. So good. Wow. Oh, the oblivion. It’s like Joey. It’s a slow speed disc, but it’s got a beveled edge, so it does like S curve. Yeah, looks like you can get No, no, Annie. Oh, ladies. All right. [Music] [Applause] All righty. It’s Monday morning. MVP opens in the books. What an event. Uh, it was really good and then really bad. That’s what me will do to you sometimes. I shot I think the worst round I’ve played. I actually just checked stats and my this is my second worst round in seven years. Not bad. Interesting. Finding things to blame for that or just I don’t really know anymore. The end of the year is always tough, but congrats to Cole and Missy. They held it together and they got some pretty sick wins. That was pretty amazing down the stretch there to watch. As always, MVP open comes always down to the last hole. It seems like flies on the lens. And yeah, we have one off weekish. I actually have to go play a skins match now, which is also kind of fun. and then USCGC left and then Pro Tour finals. I really don’t know what to expect or I think about those. But I’ll be there. I’m actually going down with my family next week and we have a pretty crazy Airbnb with like 16 people, all disc golf families. So, we’ll see what happens there. And yeah, I’m working on my latte art. Thanks for all the tips in the comments. Um, I’m sure to post when I’ve perfected it. And that’s it. Hope you enjoyed little mini vlog here. And hopefully my course is playable soon. I’m sure to be grinding out here. Hopefully some content, too, when it’s ready. Like and subscribe as always. And enjoy the shot of the day. I wish I had one here. Oh, wait. I think we can. You can’t follow it, right? Oh, here. Early morning. First throw of the day. Let’s just get it done. Oh my god. My elbow did not agree with that choice. Second attempt. Oh, too high. A could have been magic. Okay, enjoy the day. Like and subscribe and we’ll probably see you in South Carolina. That’s where the good things happen. Let’s get out of here. [Music] Win. [Applause] [Music] I can feel [Music] my heart. [Music]

This is probably the best Simon vlog so far
4K but only 24 eye-breaking frames per second, Simon. 🙁
I'd much rather see 2K and 60fps. So that camera movement doesn't make me sick.
Yours is compelling 21st century content, presented in a horrendous early 20th century frame rate.
Good luck with your DGC.
Let go Simon
I wanna throw your home course
5 acres is enough for 9 holes or maybe even 18 holes if you’re going to be the only one playing it. If there’s only one group playing you can just have all the holes cross each other or play some of them backwards. Edit. I should have watched the video for ten more seconds. Haha
Seeing you all compete against each other, then come together for steak night is a beautiful thing and not like any other professional sport! Love it 🙏
Ben Kenney leading the Country Roads Sing-a-long is just so pure haha
House tour next?
Gannon Buhr and Gavin Babcock now on camera making that shot.
You deserve it! ❤ I’m amazed by your courage to accept change and venture on towards new goals in life while staying true to your love and passion 🥏⛳️✨🔥🤟🏼
Simon, plant two trees for every tree you take out. It’s a good way to make up for the loss.
Wondering when you'd finally pull the trigger on this. Now for 🦅 to get his going.
Great content. We built a course on our property. Still lots to improve .
Also, if you’re gonna be in the woods that much, man def keep checking yourself for ticks. Nasty vermin.
Ben Kenny killing it. Let's. Go❤❤🎉 the family feel is awesome.
Country roads, take me home.
Awesome vlog, Simon! Actually wanted to be there! Thanks for sharing your life.
I built a 14-hole disc golf course on 5 acres, par 3 course called Pirate's Ledge. ☠️ It was such a great opportunity. Now I'm building another course in the neighboring town😂 disc junkie😂🇺🇲🛹🪓
19:32 😂😂😂 nice Brodie Smith impression ❤❤❤ love all of you, hope Brodie is with you too sometimes and my boy Ezra 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
20:29 ❤❤ so much love here! wish all the best to all of you and your families 🙏🏼🙏🏼
One of the dopest vlogs yet!
Simon billiards channel when?
Gavin Babcock earned himself a new fan repping suicideboys. Didn’t know he had motion like that
No we know why Gannon's putt was off down the stretch. Too much Tosy tossin
"…cut that tree."
Once you solidify the layout I think you should also have input / 2 pin positions created from a few other pros to force you to throw other shots. Would make for easy content and also give you some shot variety
May have to design a semi-permanent floating tee pad system to allow ultimate fun at home
Love the property and excited to see what you do with it. I have had this same dream on my 51 acre property in southern New Hampshire for some time now so that I could play rounds with my kids after school. Have nine baskets and only one setup so at least there is a start. Id love to get your opinion on it, feel free to hit me up if you're ever interested or in the area.
This is absolutely my dream. Probably must of us dream of this. I've designed a couple public courses, but like you said, that's totally different. Congrats, man!
To create a disc golf course in your back yard is every disc golf lover's dream. You remind me of me Simon and I am glad you have the property to accomplish this dream for you. Never forget the design of having more than one tee going into a hole. I have 9 permanent baskets around my home, and for each basket, at least 3 tee pads go into every basket giving me at least 30+ ace run holes. I always do this for a course design because through the years I have set up countless temporary courses with portables: place paortable baskets on your property and then add the tee pads around the baskets coming in from opposite directions or at 0º, 90º, 180º. and 270º. Baskets located on side hilll, downhill, and uphill grades always ar a challenge. A hole does not have to be long to be a challenge. Make it easy to par, but not too easy to birdie. Use OB for the risk/reward challenge. My course in Uncasville, CT(one mile from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT) was established in 1996☺Now go down to the USDGC and win it for your first major, and do it for your son, daughter, and wife. Positive thinking and no heavy drinking!….LOL☺Sincerely, ALLES GUTE Bill Mikuliewicz, PDGA#7378
Amazing… love the jam
Awesome vlog <3
not sure if it was said and i missed it but whats the light up disc called?
Sorry Simon, but disc golf is 60% distance. Understand it's diminishing returns.
Ha! Y’all are awesome
Man this was so much fun
killer jam sesh dude 🤙🤙
I call dibs for being the first person to play the course when it is finished! I look forward to the invite Simon.
Congrats on the property! I would love to see footage of you developing the course. Planning out holes, tearing our trees, shaping terrain. Excited to see what comes next!
so THIS is why Cole won……..
The wholesome singing in the last part reminded me of the best parts in the camp sessions in Red Dead Redemption 2. Epic vlog.
Your running form could use some work.
What a vibe ❤
The greatest benefit of having a course in your garden is being able to play with and teach your kids and eventually grandchildren disc golf. God bless you Simon
