FARMINGTON, PA. – Freshman Jace Hulett (Boerne, Texas) fired a 2-under-par, 70, on Tuesday to win the title of the Shepherd’s Rock Individual by two strokes. In the team event, the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, sophomore Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) shot a 4-under-par, 68, to lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a third-place finish.
Hulett, playing in only his collegiate event, had three birdies and an eagle on the par-4, No. 7, hole to win the event over 29 other individual golfers. For the three-round tournament, he was 8-under-par with a 73-65-70-208. His 208 is tied for the ninth-lowest par-72, three-round effort in Seton Hall history.
In the team event, the Pirates turned in their third-consecutive sub-par round on Tuesday, firing a 2-under-par, 286. The Hall finished the tournament in third place with a 17-under-par, 282-279-286-847. Host West Virginia won the team event at 36-under-par. Western Carolina finished second, just one stroke ahead of the Pirates.
Hennessee was the top Seton Hall performer on Tuesday, using three birdies and an eagle on the par-5, No. 8 hole, to pace a 4-under-par, 68. The sophomore rocketed up the final leader board 21 spots to finish in a tie for 19th place with a 2-under-par, 77-69-68-214. It’s Hennessee’s third career sub-par tournament and the second in three events this fall.
Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) was the top Seton Hall golfer of the Nemcolin Collegiate Invitational, tying for ninth place in the field of 100 golfers. The junior had birdies in three of his final six holes to finish at even-par on Tuesday. For the tournament, he shattered his career-best with a 5-under-par, 68-71-72-211.
Sophomore Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) also turned in a career-best effort this week. For round three, he had three birdies and 11 pars to cap a 15th place tie. He shot a 3-under-par, 70-70-73-213 for the event.
David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) finished only one stroke behind Nolan for the tournament. On Tuesday, he had a 1-over-par, 73. For the three-round event, Lally was 2-under-par with a 72-69-73-214. It’s the senior’s third career sub-par tournament and his first this year.
Graduate student George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) had three birdies on Tuesday to help him complete a 2-over-par, 74. For the tournament, he was 1-over-par with a 72-71-74-217.

Nemacolin and Golf Architect Tim Liddy partnered with Pete Dye — before Dye’s passing — with designs for an impressive and extensive bunker renovation to Mystic Rock, which was completed in 2021. The transformation to upgrade the bunkers, playing surfaces, and tee boxes solidifies Mystic Rock as one of the premier mountain courses in the country.
THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall and host West Virginia, the large field included 17 other schools: Bucknell, Campbell, Davidson, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Mount St. Mary’s, Penn State, Richmond, Robert Morris, Saint Francis, Towson, VCU, Western Carolina and William & Mary.
THE FORMAT:
Teams played five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

Seton Hall will return to tournament play for three rounds of golf at The Bryson Invitational, at Daniel Island Golf Club in Daniel Island, S.C., Oct. 13-15.

The junior had two birdies and an eagle on the par4, No. 16 hole to fuel a 1-under-par, 71, in round three. For the tournament, Williams tied for fourth with a career-best 3-under-par, 72-70-71-213.
Freshman Blake Goodnight (Dallas, Texas) picked up six more birdies today to power a 2-under-par, 70, in round three. For the tournament, he earned his first career top-10 by placing ninth with an even-par, 69-77-70-216.
Senior Jack Bosworth (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) had an eagle for the second straight round in route to a 4-over-par, 76, on Tuesday. He finished the tournament with an 11-over-par, 77-74-76-227.
