Designed for the golfer who prefers to sweep the ball from the turf as opposed to hitting down and through and taking a divot. In 2011, David Lake designed our NOVA Hybrid Single-Length Irons which were the industry’s first true line of hybrid irons that combine the playability of a hybrid wood with the inherent accuracy of an iron.

Welcome friends. I want to talk to you today about a new addition to the one iron golf line of golf clubs. And that’s Nova Hybrid Irons. Now, about 14 years ago, we had had so many requests from people, can you design something to facilitate a sweeping swing? They said, I don’t like hitting down and through and taking a divot, hitting the ground. I don’t like that. Do you have anything for a sweeping swing like you would with a hybrid wood? and the ease of play of a hybrid would. Well, I looked around the market. There was nothing on the market as far as hybrid irons at the time. So, I sat down at the drawing board for a couple months and I came up, like I said, with our Nova hybrid irons. Now, as you can see, here’s a pitching wedge. Here’s a three iron. Boom. Look at that. Exactly the same sole. a nice wide flat sole with a couple uh running lines in it for help going through the turf and easiest hit irons you will ever play and they are designed for a sweeping type of swing. Now that wide sole keeps the club head from digging into the turf. You’re not going to get fat shots. You’re going to come through and that club head’s going to glide through the turf into the ball every single time. At the same time, every club in the bag becomes a sand wedge. There’s no reason for us to design a separate sand wedge because every club in the bag is an effective sandwich. It’s not going to dig into the sand. If you’re up there close to the green and you’re in the sand trap, pull out the pitching wet and just don’t swing as hard. Perfect. Same with chipping and so on and so forth. Now, this wide sole does two things. Number one, you can see how thick it is. It’s a nice thick wide steel sole. What that does, it takes well the vast majority of the weight from the club head and puts it right here on the bottom. That means this club is the lowest center of gravity of just about any golf club in the industry. It probably is by far the lowest center of gravity. And what that means is when you touch the ball, that ball is airborne. You’re not going to be hitting line drives. You’re not going to be doing this. that ball is going to go and it’s going to go high and it’s going to land very softly on the green uh like a butterfly with sore feet as they say. They’re uh 100% graphite uh shaft that we put in there’s own proprietary shaft and if you go see our shafting video, it explains exactly how we do our shafting. So there there’s no question there. Uh 1/8 inch oversized grips. That oversized grip just gives you more hand to club contact. Uh, so you got a lot more control with that and it’s much more comfortable, you know, than a the tiny regular size grips you get on golf clubs. You will find these to be just as easy to play. Well, actually easier to play than any hybrid wood on the market. And here’s the problem with a hybrid wood, for instance. And it’s this is true with all woods. All woods are designed with bulge and roll to the club face. Instead of a flat club face like an iron, it’s got bulge and it’s got roll. and so forth. Matter of fact, I’ve got a video on bulge and roll. You can go back and take a look and see exactly what I’m talking about. The problem with bulge and roll is the fact that when you hit an approach shot to the green, the best you can do is aim for the width and depth of the green. That’s all the accuracy you’re going to have and all the distance control you’re going to have. When you have an iron in your hand, flatfaced iron, you’re actually aiming at the pin. Your distance control is precise and they are much much much more accurate. And believe me, you can be just as accurate with a sweeping type of swing as you can with a down and through and taking a divot type of swing. But like I say, just a lot of people just prefer that sweeping swing. Especially, you know, as you get older, uh most older people will tend to replace their oh, three, four, five irons with hybrid woods because they’re just so much easier to hit. They’re just so much comfortable to hit. It’s a sweeping swing and and that’s fine, but like I say, they’re going to lose accuracy and distance control with those. These solve the problem. One extra advantage of the Nova hybrid irons is the fact it’s they’re designed for single length play. As you can see, they’re all the same length. They’re all the same weight. They all have the same shaft flex, the same line angle. They are identical from the three iron to the pitching wedge. The only difference just being the loft angle on the club face. So what’s true, you only have to master one sweeping swing for all the clubs. You don’t have to screw around changing ball positions and all this other. That’s the beauty of single length play. So you get the combination of a welldesigned club head. As a matter of fact, it’s a perfect design cuz I did it. And couple that with single length play and you can’t go wrong. All the sets, the whatever you order is custom fitted to you, just like all of our other irons and and woods. Everything is custom fitted to you through that custom fitting page on our website. It’ll tell you exactly how to take your measurement. And like I say, if you go by the fitting formula, what happens is line angle and the club length will be perfect for you. It will force you into a nice smooth sweeping swing. Now, like I say, I designed these 14 years ago. never had them on a oneiron golf website before. Uh I didn’t want to confuse the issue back then. So what I did, I created a another company, Gria Golf, and uh the Nova hybrid irons were only available through Gria Golf up until now. But over the past year, I got to thinking about it. I said, you know what? Let’s bring those Novas back home where they belong. So now they are only available through one iron golf. Available in a three- pitch or a 5 through pitch set. Uh you can’t go wrong with these clubs. Trust me, if you prefer a sweeping type of swing, you’re not going to find a better club on the market at any price. I guarantee. Thanks for watching.
