The US President didn’t stay quiet after Rory McIlroy and Team Europe aimed their Ryder Cup victory song in his direction.

Much of the pre-Ryder Cup hype was centered on Donald Trump’s planned appearance at Bethpage. His presence, some suggested, would fire up the American players and their supporters to deliver a performance Europe simply wouldn’t be able to handle.

But the reality? It never really landed. Trump appeared ahead of the Friday afternoon fourballs session – one the USA ended up losing 2.5–1.5.

A keen golf fan, Trump was always going to make his mark on proceedings – one way or another.

And Europe weren’t about to let his presence go unnoticed.

Led by Rory McIlroy, the victorious European team gleefully filmed themselves singing, “Are you watching, Donald Trump?” as they posed with the Ryder Cup trophy.

It didn’t take long for Trump to fire back with a short but pointed reply on his Truth Social platform.

“Yes, I’m watching. Congratulations!”

Trump may not have inspired Team USA to glory in New York, but he still managed to steal a slice of the spotlight. And if there’s one thing Donald Trump has always been good at, it’s making sure people are, indeed, watching.
