I notice most of the pin positions are on the edge of the greens. I’m surprised some of them aren’t off the green. That hasn’t assisted USA

Some of the Americans were hopelessly out of form. Schauffely could barely putt properly. He left every putt short.
And that leads to another issue, the course set up. Bethpage Black is known as one of the hardest courses. Yet how many times in the 3 days did anyone have even close to a double bogey? Did we ever really see anyone in trouble? The course had no teeth. It descended into a pitch and putt contest.
Now for one startling stat. Up until the second day fourballs, the Americans were actually better from tee to green statistically. Yeah surprised me too. But the Europeans were miles ahead in putting. Miles ahead. And that is no surprise. Whoever set up the course will be getting their p45 tomorrow. No ryder course should be set up this easy.
As to Europe. Yes very impressive. They only had one player out of form and that is Aberg. Everyone else was basically lights out. The player of the tournament is either Rahm or Fleetwood. But you could make a case for so many.
