The Ryder Cup is upon us for 2025 as Team Europe head to the infamous Bethpage Black in New York looking to achieve a rare victory on American soil.

Luke Donald’s side are currently in possession of golf’s most famous team trophy following their memorable 16½-11½ victory in Rome two years ago, Tommy Fleetwood taking them over the line with the winning point following a late fightback on a dramatic and highly-charged final day.

This year’s event promises to be every bit as captivating, intense and exciting as ever, with visiting captain Donald already fanning the flames of the rivalry by taking a shot at Team USA’s much-talked-about change of stance on paying their players.

13 years have now passed since the so-called ‘Miracle at Medinah’, when Jose Maria Olazabal’s heroes produced arguably one of sport’s greatest-ever comebacks to deliver Europe’s first victory across the Atlantic since 2004.

They will have their work cut out to end the USA’s home dominance since then at the notoriously difficult and rowdy Bethpage Black in New York, having been thrashed at both Hazeltine and Whistling Straits in recent years.

Seven of the world’s current top 10-ranked golfers are in the American team captained by Keegan Bradley, including reigning No1 Scottie Scheffler, but Europe boast plenty of firepower of their own, including Rory McIlroy and Fleetwood.
