1UP Rahm/Straka vs. Scheffler/Spaun (5)

Onto the fifth green we go in the first fourball.

The Europeans are farthest out, so they will go for the hole. Jon Rahm can only chip from the rough before Sepp Straka fires a brilliant effort towards the cup from 45 feet. It looked good for so long, but it crept to the left of the hole.

Can the Americans find a birdie, then? Oh, that is so unlucky for J.J. Spaun! He got the pace perfect from 28 feet but the line just deceived him, the ball flirted with the hole but lipped out at the very last.

Scottie Scheffler from similar range from the other side is nowhere near, so that’s another halved hole.
