Keegan Bradley’s United States will be looking to bounce back quickly in this afternoon’s fourballs session after going down to Luke Donald’s Europe in the morning foursomes at Bethpage, New York.
Emphatic victories for Jon Rahm & Tyrrell Hatton (4&3), Ludvig Aberg & Matt Fitzpatrick (5&3) and Rory McIlroy & Tommy Fleetwood (5&4) put three early blue points on the board for Donald’s defending champions.
Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are tied with Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland down the closing stretch in the anchor match in what is already looking like a must-win game for the stars and stripes.
