Chris Davies has been awarded Life Membership at this year’s Golf Management conference, a prestigious recognition of his outstanding and enduring contribution to golf and club management, both in New Zealand and internationally.

Davies’s career is marked by over a decade of dedicated service to the Club Managers’ Association of New Zealand (CMANZ). He joined the association in 2008 and served on the Board from 2011 to 2021, including a key period as President from 2018 to 2021.

Elevating Professional Education

His leadership was instrumental in elevating the standard of education and professional development for club managers nationwide. Most notably, Davies spearheaded CMANZ’s initiative to secure access to the prestigious CMAA BMI Education Programs. This achievement brought world-class learning opportunities directly to New Zealand managers, a commitment that also saw him personally mentor many professionals along the way.

A Global Ambassador for New Zealand Golf

Another career highlight was Davies’s pivotal role in securing and hosting the International Conference in Queenstown in 2018. This milestone event successfully showcased New Zealand and the Central Otago region to some of the world’s leading General Managers, solidifying the country’s position in the global golf community.

Davies has consistently gone above and beyond, volunteering countless hours, championing the advancement of the profession, and establishing strong ties with global bodies like the CMAE and CMAA. Locally, he is widely regarded as a trusted advisor and friend by many members.
