This might be my new favorite Golf Course in Florida (course review)

Santa Rosa Golf and Beach club lies in the heart of historic and famous Highway 30A. Now considered “The Hamptons of the south”

30A has gained popularity over the past decade with celebrities such as Michael Jordan Matthew McConaughey, Tim McGraw, Jerry Jones, Brian Kelly, and many others.

There are undoubtedly some fantastic golf courses in the Florida Panhandle that may be overlooked and this is one of those courses.

Santa Rosa Golf is part of the troop network so if you are a troop member or your country club is part of the network you will have access to this pristine golf course.

Current course record is held by Sam Burns (64) which he set two weeks before I played this course in July.

If given the opportunity to play I would rate this course in my top 10 I have played so far in my life.

The course is very narrow with some risk reward shots and fairways lined with sand wastelands given that it is so close to the beach and built on sandy land.

The course was established in 1969 and recently renovated in 2021. It features scenes of natural pine and has a surprisingly change of terrain for the Florida flatland swamps. It is a traditional par 72 which offers 6 different tee boxes with a 6820 tips option which with Florida breeze will play much longer.

It’s them boys from Dixie Land. Let’s see what we’re about to shoot at Santa Rosa Golf Beach Club. What you going to shoot, Hunter? Huh? What you going to shoot? Doc Phillips up to number two T. That might be it. Good hit, dude. He absolutely pipes it. Get in the hole. But because Wade, that was a good hit. Well, it was pretty windy this day. All right. And here is uh number six I believe. Very pretty course. So if you’re ever in the Santa Rosa 3A area, I would highly suggest this course. You have to be a member of a Trune Country Club or a TR member to be able to play. Now here I am, Money Mayfield up to the TE. This is a par five dog leg. I was trying to cut the corner um at this time earlier in the season. Kind of struggling with my hips. Uh just trying to figure out how to move down center right down the pipe pipeline baby. So Dr. Phillips obviously does not play a lot of golf. You just need to quit. Yeah. You got another one? He’s going to give it his best try. Just keep back on it. And he’s already got a reload. So he reloads it and guess what? Does the same exact damn thing. So, here’s where my drive ended up and just me pacing around because play was being a little slow. So, here’s Dr. Phillips practicing. Um, fairways is really nice. Fairways over. All right, put put us on the green. I mean, that’s really good. All right, next is me going around this tree. Going to try to perform a punch shot with my four iron. Had probably about 200 yards if I remember correctly. Let’s see what I do. Let’s listen to the sh. But no harm is done. I ended up getting a part on that hole. Bunch of deer on this course. Uh it’s kind of situated between the beach and the main highway. Um sits right on top of 38, but the other highway on the other side. Um not a lot of houses on the back nine, but very beautiful course. Beautiful day. And then this was number 17. This is the best drive I had of the day. Straight down the middle. Didn’t know there was water on the other side of this hill. Not having course knowledge. And then here he is again topping it. I’m just kidding. He hit that one pretty good, but he hooked it left. Here he is on AT&T. About hit that deer. Hits it down. Almost. It’s a deer, but it’s not hunting season yet. Here’s some pictures of the course. Um, so that’s number two. Um, that’s number four. This is number 14 or 15. ended up playing with some other guys that we joined up with on the back nine that were from Alabama roll tide. But give this course a view. Give it a try.
