Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has come to the defense of Team USA Ryder Cup participant Bryson DeChambeau after he was on the receiving end of a slight from Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee.
Chamblee, who has become one of the biggest critics in American golf, has been vocally critical of DeChambeau after the golfer departed the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.
The pundit went in on DeChambeau’s social media side-hustle and called him a ‘circus barker’, an ‘odd duck’, and a ‘captain’s nightmare’ among other things.
After Chamblee received some backlash, Spiranac jumped in to defend the two-time major winner.
‘Brandel saying Bryson is a “captain’s nightmare” is such a weird take. He’s the perfect person for this type of team event,’ the golf glamor girl posted on her X account.
‘He gets the people going! Will be fun to watch his matches this week.’

It’s been an up-and-down season for DeChambeau, who won just two LIV Golf events – in Korea back in May, and in Michigan last month.
But outside those wins, he only managed three other top-five finishes on the Saudi-backed breakaway circuit.
He also came close in three of the four majors this season – finishing tied-fifth at the Masters, tied-second at the PGA Championship, and tied-tenth at The Open Championship.
In past Ryder Cups, DeChambeau put up a record of 2-3-1 as a member of the team that lost the Cup at Le Golf National and the team that won it back at Whistling Straits.
His most recent Ryder Cup appearance in 2021 saw him tie a Friday afternoon four-ball against Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, alongside playing partner Scottie Scheffler.
But the following day, teamed with Scheffler again, he came out victorious in that fourball against Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland.
He finished off his time in Wisconsin with another victory in his Sunday singles match – beating Sergio Garcia 3 & 2.
