Beef jerky Tuesday, presented
by Old Trapper. You like how I
spun that all around? September 23rd. Jamie Erdahl, Manti Te’o,
Willie Colon and Kyle Brandt in
New York. Kyle, relying on the old faithful, angry runs t
shirt. Kyle, how’s the street
team feeling today? Feeling excellent. We’re going to go up
on the roof. I was going to say
we’re going to punch a hole in the roof, but there isn’t one.
So I’ll punch a hole in the sky
and it’s going to be great. This week we got all kinds of
fun planned and we had 68
points of incredible football action last night, too. Let’s
get into it. Jamie’s ready.
Manti is ready. Willie colon is ready. I’m always ready. Let’s
roll. Come on. Welcome to Good
Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper. That’s right. Gmfb,
get in here, everybody. Happy
Tuesday, week three, fait accompli, if you may say Manti
Te’o, Willie Colon, Kyle Brandt,
Jamie Erdahl. How are you doing today, Manti? I’m doing amazing.
You’re looking amazing, James.
Thank you very much. I feel very rock n roll. I’m sure I
could reference a couple of
like, metal albums that I would get wrong, so I’ll just rely on
my friend Kyle Brandt to do
that. And also to read us the highlights from Monday Night
Football. Yes, well, Darkness
Falls sounds like a metal album last night and that was the
theme for Baltimore. They were
leaning into it like Jamie is, but the Lions were visiting and
they had other definitions of
darkness. Let’s get into it right now at the atmosphere thet
on there. It’s all gothy and
racist. It’s all right though. Seven. Nothing. We’re just
getting cooking. We got a long
highlight. Everybody get comfortable ensuing. Ravens
drive third and one Derrick
Henry. He gone. Could be one of those nights. Willie stomping
all over this Lions defense. He
came out hungry and ready to roar. Boom. However let’s see
what we get from Derrick for
the rest of the game. All right. Goff back into his own dark end
zone finds Laporta no problem.
Ten yards to the 15 yard line. We’re going to go to the second
quarter. This drive started at
the Lions two. It is still going. It was prolific.
Prolific. You got more Laporta
another first down. He was great. Second and ten. You give
it to David Montgomery I’m just
going to tell you now he had a career night a career. This guy
is supposed to be slowing down
the way he runs Willie no question. He runs behind his
pads and he’s a physical Lions 5
seconds less than that remaining in the half. We go to
the old head. D-hop D-hop D-hop
biggest hands in the league. Toe drag swag. All that’s
beautiful. Next play after
defensive Pi on the Lions. Ravens have first and goal. Got
it. That’s Rashod Bateman who
had a really productive night. Ravens tie it up. We got a good
one folks 1414 at the half. But
wait third quarter 1414 Lamar. You know who had a night. Mark
Andrews got him. Too big for
you too big Boomer sooner. Mark Andrews catches a touchdown.
Had a big statistical night.
Would get another touchdown late. We’re not even going to
show you because it’s going to
be inconsequential. I just buried the lead. That’s all
right. Alex Anzalone gets beat
on that one. But look at this play tricky Lions that is Goff
to Montgomery. Back to Goff to
Amon-ra. Just 17 yards. That’s fine. Lions do a lion thing.
That’s exactly right. Not Ben
Johnson things John Morton things. And then look at this
throw from Goff. Bam I’m on
Ross Saint Brown. Touchdown. He leads the NFL in receiving
touchdowns. He had three last
week. He and Marlon Humphrey were going at it all night. And
I got to say this is maybe a
ten eight round by the end of this for Amon-ra next 21 all.
Look at this football
Montgomery is out the gate. Get home. Go get home, go home. Go!
He’s gonna catch him eventually.
David Montgomery I would have thought this is the longest run
of his career. It’s not. It’s
only the third longest 72 yards. I think he popped a big 1 or 2
back in the Chicago days.
Fourth quarter now, fourth and one for the Ravens four. Look
at the double play. Oh watch
this again. You hand it to who immediately pitches it to Jamir.
It’s a beautiful play. This
reminds me of like Nebraska in the 90s. Oh Scott Frost we see
you Eric Crouch. We see you
Tommy Frazier, we see you. And again we see you up in the
Lions booth. It’s an incredible
play. And watch this. Bam! Derrick Henry it’s on the
ground. Guess who made that
play. Guess who made it. Big Hutch with a beautiful punchout.
Watch this. Bam! That is
Derrick Henry’s third fumble in three games. They seem to be
coming late. Remember he
fumbled week one against Buffalo and that’s him. He
can’t believe it. He was
bottled up after his long touchdown. He also had another
massive fumble. First and ten
though Lamar with the ball back another sack. Guess who it was.
Hutch all over the field last
night. Shout out to all the coordinators for Detroit. We
will get to them shortly. But
here’s on a fourth and two Dan Campbell going for it. Ravens
have all their timeouts and
they’re going to throw Goff Amon-ra. See ya all hands.
Beautiful throw. There was a
penalty on the Ravens. Was on Marlon Humphrey for grabbing.
Not only does Campbell say
we’re going on fourth and two in the middle of the field.
We’re going to throw. They nail
it. Derrick Henry frustrated and then here we go. Here is
your Stone cold stunner. Warm
up the busses. Put him to sleep. We’re going back to Detroit
with the Dub Montgomery insane
night. Goff wanted him to go down. He said shut up. I’m
scoring. There would be a late
Mark Andrews touchdown, an onside kick that failed. And
look at Jared Goff. They go
into Baltimore into the darkness and come out with
light. And with the win back to
Detroit. The Lions are two and one. The Ravens are one and two.
So 68 points of awesome
football. Afterwards. Let’s hear from David Montgomery. And
let’s hear from the Ravens QB
one. Take a listen. I mean it starts up front. You know those
guys don’t get enough credit.
You know they caught a lot of backlash after the first week.
You know. And everybody was
kind of on them about it. And you know it’s really important
to keep the horse blinders on
when you’re in the midst of the mud, you know. But we got the
best group up front in the
league. So they did exactly what I knew they would do. And,
you know, we had fun tonight. I
can’t tell you what went wrong. You know, we just didn’t score.
And that’s rarely that rarely
happens you know. And I feel like we just got to put points
on the board right there in
that situation. We’re on the one yard line. We’re right
there in the end zone. I feel
like we got to punch in and find a way to punch in. But no,
I don’t feel like we should be
in panic mode or nothing like that. You know, just do the
same thing. When we get our
opportunity, drive the ball down the field like we always
do, put points on the board,
but at the same time, we were scoring pretty fast sometimes
and those guys were milking the
clock. So in a way, we had to hurry up. Man. David Montgomery
said it himself that those guys
up front don’t get enough credit. Man Jared Goff looked
great, but in order to look
great, you have to have a really good run game. The Lions
took one last night in
Baltimore man. What jumped off the screen to you. Well what
jumped off the screen during
that highlight is a quote by the great Willie Colon. He says
Lions do lion things. And
that’s what they did last night in regards to that run game.
Listen, there was a switch that
John Morton, the offensive coordinator, had in the middle
of that 18 play, 98 yard drive.
I don’t know if anybody saw this, but before that there
weren’t getting a lot of
yardage in that run game. Why? Because what I saw was they
were running a lot of zone
scheme in the beginning. And Willie knows that zone scheme
is when you see all five of
those linemen kind of going in one direction. Well, in the
middle of that 18 play, 98 yard
drive, John Morton just went back to what they do best and
they started man blocking. They
started putting two linemen on one D line, 600 plus pounds on
one D lineman. And they started
making movement on that line of scrimmage. And that’s what
started to lead to all of those
big plays in the run game. That one switch and it happened in
the middle of that 18 play, 98
yard drive. That’s what added to David Montgomery and Jahmyr
Gibbs Gashing this Ravens
defense. When you have that dynamic in the run game, when
you’re having those explosive
plays, that’s how on fourth and two and a Monroe Saint, Brown
sneaks out against Marlon
Humphrey and gets that first down. That’s how that happens
because the Ravens are so
preoccupied with getting their their mouth punched on these
plays that they’re like, we
don’t want this no more, that now you can sneak out of a
number 14, one of the best
receivers in Monroe, Saint Brown out in the seam of the of
the field and get those first
downs in key situations. So that was my biggest takeaway.
That’s what I saw. That little
switch Jamie. That’s what led to this to this victory for
them on the run game. It was so
good to see this Lions team go back to what they do best. And
that’s running the ball, being
physical and doing what Lions do. Willie. Yeah, we got to
give a tip of the hat to this
Detroit Lions defense Lamar Jackson was sacked seven times
at home which is wild. And
what’s interesting that you can tell the Detroit Lions
understood the assignment and
how to bottle up action Jackson staying disciplined in the rush
in their rush lanes and really
force him to take bad sacks. And he did so. And what’s crazy
when you look about this
offensive line altogether and this is starting to be a trend.
Pro Football Focus gave a 27
game, ranked him 27th as far as pass blocking grade. And now
we’re starting to see this
offensive line that’s supposed to play bully ball. Like the
Detroit Lions get bullied by
the Detroit Lions. So if you’re if you’re looking at the
Baltimore Ravens and you’re
watching this run game fall stagnant. Yeah. They had a big
score early by Derrick Henry.
But once they weren’t able to protect and they weren’t able
to run the ball, we watched
this offense strength right before our eyes. And we watched
Lamar Jackson struggle to make
things happen and find the answer to this test. I think
the Ravens are in trouble,
y’all. Yeah, give me more. Well, be honest, when Derrick Henry’s
turned over the football, you
can’t protect Lamar Jackson and you’re struggling to really
find an identity and being who
you are, especially in the AFC North. You understand Lamar
Jackson is is not the end all
be all. You have multiple weapons Zay flowers Derrick
Henry, Mark Andrews Isaiah
likely played yesterday. All these guys to some degree were
neutralized. You didn’t see
that with the Detroit Lions offense. They all showed up and
they all played big. Well
listen we got to talk a lot about the Ravens today and we
will in future segments. But
for now I just this is this is Dan Campbell’s Lions team. This
is Dan Campbell’s team you
understand is this thing on. This is Dan Campbell’s team.
Because I was told Ben Johnson
was the genius and he was carrying the offense. I watched
them go to Baltimore last night.
I watched them go into the darkness. Darkness. They ran
for 224 yards. They had
multiple trick plays in the middle of the field, in the red
zone, in any zone you want. I
was told that Aaron Glenn was the real spark and the carrier
of this defense. I saw the
Lions have seven sacks from six different players. I saw the
Ravens have zero sacks. I saw
the Lions shut the door on the greatest weapon in the league,
Lamar Jackson, on the goal line
multiple times. I’m done with this storyline. I don’t want to
hear it after week one when
they lost to green Bay. I don’t want to hear it ever. This is a
Dan Campbell team. Aaron Glenn
right now is running up and down the sideline dancing to
Earth, Wind and fire in a loss.
His third in a row. Ben Johnson is one and two. One of those
two getting absolutely pistol
whipped by the Detroit Lions for 50 some points. I like that
they’re great coaches. I hope
they go on to do amazing things. Dan Campbell runs the show. You
gamble with Campbell. He’s
calling the shots and fourth and two at the end of the game.
He’s knocking people out. He’s
going into the darkness and he’s a metallica fan okay. They
go into the darkness. My
favorite Metallica song is called blackened and where it
says darkness in vain,
decadence remains. And that’s all that remains with Detroit.
After the coordinators go to
Timbuktu, wherever the hell they go, as long as Dan
Campbell stands there, they’re
going to knock people out. They saw it last night. Kyle, one
word that you just said stands
out to me, especially when it comes to the run game. He who
has dedicated himself as you
have to the running back position at some point, if you
have David Montgomery, it feels
decadent to have Jahmyr Gibbs. Now, those two both having a
rushing touchdown in a game
that has happened 11 times, it’s the one two punch. It’s
the most out of any running
back combo in the NFL. 11 games. These two have each punched in
a rushing touchdown Kyle how
does that make you feel about this partnership moving forward?
It’s awesome and I love that
both of them had one yard touchdowns to start the game.
One yard. That means we’re just
doing a yard at a time. We don’t need to hit 70 yards. We
can, but let’s just do one yard.
And by the way, when we get down to the one yard line, we
don’t even need our quarterback
to get pushed by 50 different people. We hand it to the
running back and they run in by
themselves. I love it, I’m into it. Guys, if you watch this
game, the Ravens got bludgeoned.
Yeah. We’re going to talk about Baltimore a little bit. Like
there is an S word that comes
around that is very offensive to teams. And it’s soft. They
the Lions ran right up the
middle for four quarters. And the Ravens are the ones who
have Derrick Henry. They’re
supposed to be doing that. They got a lot to figure out
defensively. But that’s not
Detroit’s problem. They said if you’re going to keep giving it
to us, we’ll gouge you 224
yards rushing to 85 when you have Lamar and Derrick Henry.
Yeah. We got to understand we
watched this Lions offensive line grow up right before our
eyes because week one versus
the Packers, there was a lot of talk about the interior of this
offensive line and how they
were going to produce and the lack of production, especially
against in that game the last
over the last two weeks, especially in this game, they
grew up, they started to
knuckle up and they started to play battle, battle ready
football. As an offensive
lineman, you’re always told get the running backs feet to the
line of scrimmage. He’ll do the
rest of the work. And we witnessed that last night. So
credit the interior of the
Detroit Lions offensive line. They showed up and showed out
well. We got to sprinkle a
little bit of love for the defense. As you guys know I
thought that they played big
boy football. Guys like all they did was play. Hey we’re
going to stack this box and DBS,
you’re on an island all day long by yourselves. Now they
did get they did have some
explosive plays against them. Two of the touchdowns were via
the air. However, I love that
they stuck to their guns. Like no matter how much you throw
this ball against us, we’re
going to stick to running this ball. Play man, play man
coverage. We’re going to load
the box and everybody else who’s in coverage you’re on
your own. And they didn’t
change. And I thought that was so indicative and
representative of of who Dan
Campbell is. It’s like this is what I do. I run the ball and I
play really stingy, good
defense. And so to what KB was saying, this is Dan Campbell’s
football team. That’s identity.
And we all know we’ve all known that now. And if anybody
questions that I think we were
we were reminded of that last night. Yeah. And last thing I
need to do is take a victory
lap on the week one theory guys. But the idea that week one is a
liar. Let’s just take a look
back, okay? This Lions team was unrecognizable in week one at
Lambeau Field against the
Packers. They could get nothing done. Goff did nothing. The
running game did nothing. The
Packers were the best team in the world. A couple of weeks
later, wow. We go to Baltimore.
Scored 38 points. The Packers just lost to Cleveland. All
right. It’s just take a breath
in September. Do not jump to all these nuclear conclusions
after week one. After week two.
Now we’re getting into the meat. We are in week four right now,
guys. We can start really
casting some opinions. But week one is a very strange week and
I know it was a big time write
off week. Montgomery talked about it last night. He said
after week one everyone was
saying, our O line has nothing. They can’t block anybody. 224
yards rushing through the heart
of the Ravens defense. Week one is a very, very strange week
for the Packers and for the
Lions. Everybody just take a breath before you start
eulogizing the Lions. It was a
great way to cap off week three of Monday Night Football. And
to Kyle’s point, for as much as
we have to track narrative changes across the NFL, there
is one unfortunate one that
remains true with the San Francisco 49 ers. And that’s we
have to constantly ask Tom
Pelissero our NFL network insider today about injuries
that are happening to the 49
ers and beyond. Tom I unfortunately have to assume
that’s where we begin. That’s
right Jamie. More bad news for a San Francisco team. The right
now sits atop the NFC West at
three. And oh we’ll have to go forward without one of their
best players defensive end Nick
Bosa out for the season after suffering a season ending torn
ACL in Sunday’s win over the
Cardinals. Now, the 49 ers doctors were initially
optimistic. The physical tests
suggested that the ACL was intact, but Bosa had a prior
injury to that knee a decade
ago. In other words, it’s not a normal knee. His reaction him
giving a thumbs down as he left
the field was a strong indication that he knew this
was a really serious injury.
The tests told all it is a torn ACL for Nick Bosa. The good
news according to Kyle Shanahan,
it’s a clean ACL tear, as Shanahan put it. I’m told that
it’s the kind of ACL tear you
would want. The bad news is nobody wants an ACL tear. The
40 Niners defense now going to
have to patch this thing together as they move forward.
Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee
lamb also is expected to miss some time after suffering a
high ankle sprain on this
awkward looking play against the bears for lamb, he
suggested after the game he
thought he could even play this week against the Packers. But
after undergoing further
imaging, this is now believed to be a multi-week injury.
Jerry Jones, in speaking on the
radio, would not even rule out an IR stint that would sideline
lamb for four games. Doesn’t
sound at this point. Like that is likely to be the direction
that this goes, but at minimum,
lamb is going to be out for some time. As for Buccaneers
wide receiver Mike Evans, he is
set to undergo an MRI today after suffering a hamstring
injury in their win on Sunday
over the Jets. Now, we know that Evans has a history of
hamstring injuries. He has
missed time in the past, but Todd Bowles struck an
optimistic tone, saying that it
appears this is a low grade hamstring injury for Mike Evans.
Again, he will undergo tests.
Those will tell the full story at this point. Certainly fair
to say his status is in doubt
for a big game on Sunday against the Eagles Jamie. All
right Tom that’s good to know
if he is able to reconnect with Baker Mayfield. The
inevitability of that offense
is quite potent. I’m sure Buccaneers fans are in their
feelings in a great way. After
this past weekend, however, Kyle Brandt there might be some
fans who want to get some other
things off their chest. Jamie it’s an interesting tee up.
Jeff Goldblum in The Lost World
Jurassic Park says taking dinosaurs off the island is the
worst idea in the history of
bad ideas. What about taking live phone calls on a live
television show? We are going
to do it today. We are here. I’m Willie and I are in New
York City, kind of like the
home of FM radio, sports talk radio, Am radio, the home of
like crazy radio callers. See
that phone number right there, Kyle? Call it at 845 eastern.
I’m not joking. We’re going to
take live calls on the live network. The NFL’s network
right here. Who knows where it
will go? Who knows what will happen. But if you have a
grievance, if you’re angry
about your team, if you’re frustrated with something,
release them onto the phone
lines. I’ll be there. I will counsel you. I promise. This
could be the greatest segment.
It could be an absolutely disastrous segment, but we’re
going to find out shortly. Call
us up. I promise, whatever it’s going to happen, it won’t be
boring. It could be an A or an
F, but there’s no option in between. Kyle, I want you to
validate the authenticity to
this thing. We did not go out to our friends, cousins,
brothers. Nothing like we don’t
have people lined up that are calling. That’s not a fake
phone number. They’re calling
you, okay? They’re getting you on the other end of the phone.
And the strangers there could
be heavy Baba booey. I don’t know, we don’t. We’re just
going to do it. We’re going to
try. It’s a Tuesday, right? I think it’s Tuesday in September.
Call us. Let’s light this
candle and see what happens. Speaking of lighting a candle,
Kyle constantly does that for
cam. We’re still talking about the Giants and how they might
feel about their rookie
quarterback moving forward. We know as a show we feel about
their rookie running back. But
what’s going on with Jaxson Dart? Will he remain on the
sideline? Are we going to see
him soon? We’re going to hear from head coach Brian Daboll
about what he had to say about
the quarterback situation. Once again, Kyle, take yourself off
mute. You have to bump right
now. No I’m good. I’m always listening, Jamie. I’m always
paying attention. And I’m going
to bump with angry runs across the National Football League.
We’re going up on the roof. Who
gets the scepter this week? We correctly buckled in the back
seat. Throw that ball, Diane,
you got this. All right, let’s talk Russell Wilson and the
Giants, shall we? The Giants
quarterback finished 18 of 32 for 160 yards with two picks.
But the entire thing looked way
off. In New York on Sunday night. The Giants fell to zero
and three against the Chiefs,
which led to fans calling for a change at quarterback one.
Yesterday, their head coach,
Brian Daboll, was asked when he would like to have a decision
made and who is going to start
their Sunday game against a three and zero Chargers team
that come to North Jersey? I’m
not saying who’s starting or who’s not starting, Dan. I’m
just saying we’re evaluating
everything right now. You know, we’re going through the tape
from yesterday and we’re
evaluating, you know, every position right now. He’s trying
to distract us with the fact
that they’re noncommittal and evaluating every single
position. But coach, we want to
know about the quarterback, Willie Colon, big deal or no
big deal. Brian Daboll remains
noncommittal at the quarterback spot. Yeah, this is this is a
big deal. And I think we have
to look at it from a different lens. This isn’t about Brian
Daboll. This is about John
Mayer either stepping up and saying enough is enough because
you’re talking about this team
being seven, seven and 17 of 17 of his last 20 games. We’re
looking at a team that looks
like the same team year after year. And right now a rebuild
seems like a fantasy. And
you’re talking about Daniel Jones, Xavier McKinney,
Sterling Shepard, Saquon
Barkley. All these guys have left the Giants locker room
pretty much have had a rebirth.
So if you’re the Giants right now you got to ask the question
do you trust Brian Daboll on
really kind of being the the all seeing eye thek the fire loe
out of his this young man’s
eyes. So if you’re Brian Daboll I don’t know if it’s your
decision. This has to be John
Mayer. Do you trust him in the hands of Brian Daboll, or is it
time to move on and realize
that right now, this team has been trending downward for some
time? Yeah, I think it’s a big
deal as well, Willie, I do, and the reason why I think it’s a
big deal is to a whole bunch of
factors. I don’t know what else we need to see or what else you
need to see from a coaching
standpoint. When you look at Russ and how the offense looks
with him at the helm, I think
right now they mentioned you mentioned that the fans are
calling for a change at
quarterback. You could hear it on the TV copy on the broadcast.
You could hear the excitement
when Jaxson Dart would come in here. And if I’m Brian Daboll,
I’m very careful because that
fan base is known to also call for changes at the head coach
position. If he doesn’t, if he
doesn’t have a change or make a change soon. So if I’m looking
at this thing, Willie, you
mentioned Malik Nabers. There’s frustration there. You need you
need some spark. And not only
just spark, just watch the play. Just watch the play of your
entire offense. When Russell
Wilson has been in those those throws to the to the crossbar
of the field goal post and you
know, dropping to his knees when there’s whenever there’s
any type of pressure that’s
coming from from the defense. So it’s a big deal to me
because I don’t know what else
you need to see at this point. Like put the rookie in there,
create a spark and let’s roll.
So KB, I don’t know how you feel about it, but that’s how I
feel. Well, here’s the post I
like to show you guys the New York Post. This one’s right on
the nose. I mean, Jamie, this
is pretty much they roll out of bed doing this Jackson start.
It’s just right there. They’ve
been saving that one in the draft folder for weeks now.
It’s on a tee. Here’s the deal.
It was it was a fine plan. It was a well-intended plan that
Russell Wilson is going to be
our starter. And Jackson’s going to learn. And we got
Jameis. And Russ won some games
last year for Pittsburgh. And we’ll just do the Alex Smith
and Patrick Mahomes thing. That
always sounds great. Until you don’t have Alex Smith on the
Chiefs who was a winner and
would win with Andy Reid. And Mahomes would just sit there on
your own. Three that’s not the
nature here. So great plan. It didn’t work and I’ll just state
this again. I don’t understand
what the take is to keep starting. Russ, this is not a
guy contractually who makes it
uncomfortable. He’s on a one year deal. This is not a guy
who’s earned a way to play out
of this. You know it’s not Eli Manning. It’s not even Daniel
Jones. It is a guy who showed
up here 20 minutes ago. And while he’s done some great
things in the league, has no
equity, no skins on the wall for the Giants, no attachment
to the fan base. No one is
going to cry for him. And he hasn’t played well. He played
horribly in two of the three
games. So what is the case? I don’t think there is one. I do
think that Jackson Dart will
start and if you watch that, we showed a very brief clip of
Brian Daboll evading the
question. The New York media hit him like 15 times. They
just kept going and kept going.
And to his credit, he did not blink. And he kept saying
evaluating, evaluating,
evaluating. Cam Ward is out there starting for the Titans.
It’s not always pretty, but
he’s out there. He’s running the offense. He’s competing. We
see rookies all the time. We
see rookies in this era. Year two is the new year five. Year
one is the new year three. And
we are now four weeks since the Jaxson Dart first start. Who by
the way, everything Brian
Daboll has said about him beforehand is he’s got the
moxie. He’s got the presence,
he’s got this, he’s got that. Well here we go. Give him the
car keys. He’s been in the game.
You’re putting him in. You’re dribbling him out there for a
little bit. I think it’s time.
And I would defy anybody, anybody, to say no rush should
be the guy again. I don’t even
know if Russ is saying that. And by the way, if they do
start Jaxson Dart, I would not
be shocked if Russell Wilson is no longer on the team in some
sort of transaction and move
someplace and it’s just let’s go to battle. And we got Jaxson
Dart and Jameis Winston as our
backup. Sounds all right to me. Just the take. It’s been cool
in the preseason at least to
watch the relationship between the quarterbacks unfold for the
New York Giants. Because
Russell was the veteran and it seemed like they were all
getting along great. But at
this point this becomes a football issue. Someone said
spark for Malik Nabers and it
reminded me of last year. I was gifted the wonderful
opportunity to be in Munich,
Germany for the Giants Panthers game, and this was a game where
you saw Daniel Jones make a
couple of odd decisions, where you watch Brian Daboll pace up
and down the sideline to try to
kind of calm himself down, take big, deep breaths before he
went over and addressed his
quarterback. You see what Daniel Jones is doing now in
Indianapolis? Kyle, real quick
at this point, I kind of worry about the spark that we see
within the head coach, and what
we know of him is that he has the opportunity to be just an
absolute prolific quarterback
whisperer and and a great offensive head coach. However,
if you see your young wide
receiver frustrated and you just can’t decide whether or
not to start this rookie
quarterback, what are we feeling about Brian Daboll in
this moment and how his
decision making has gone? I mean, it’s tough. Look what
he’s been through. You know he
was it was with Josh Allen. And then he leaves. He gets the
head coaching job. And now Josh
Allen becomes the MVP Daniel Jones not his pick. Frustrating
relationship probably goes. And
now he’s playing good football. And you’re stuck with if I was
him I’d be like let’s get to
Jackson. I handpicked this guy. I love this guy. What am I
doing with this? This nanny
that I have here in Russell Wilson that I just brought in
to bide some time? We’ve been
biding some time. I, I, I imagine that Brian Daboll badly
wants Jaxson Dart. And if he
does I mean Willie you tell me you mentioned the owner. If
Brian Daboll doesn’t start
Jaxson Dart in this game, is it because someone else is taking
the decision out of his hands?
It can’t be for football. I think it’s John Mara taking the
decision out of his hands, and
he also may not be ready. Sometimes you’re a head coach
and the people in the building
who watch Jaxson Dart day in and day out and they’re saying,
like, Jackson’s not ready. Well,
part of it. Yeah, because you got to protect the young man.
Of course he’s going to put his
best foot forward out there. We saw it I went through it with
Geno Smith. Right. The only
reason why Geno started because Mark Sanchez got hurt. But he
wasn’t really ready for the
show. And then we watched him a whole year that year pretty
much struggle and try to adapt
to a New York market on top of trying to, you know, fill the
void of, you know, what I would
do then then start Jameis like Jameis is a very, very
experienced guy. If Jackson’s
not ready you got to make a change it start Jameis then
right. Yeah I mean it makes
sense. But I think at some point when you look at some of
what’s going on with this
offense, you put too much on the young fellas. Young fellas
play. You can burn them out
okay. Shout out to nannies and all child caregivers. You know,
they they let the parent I know
right. But sometimes your kids grow up au pair. Yeah. Exactly.
Well your fancy now sometimes
those kids grow up and you’re like, you know what? I’m not
sure I need this nanny anymore,
all right? But we love nannies here at the table. Mantes over
there chuckling silently. We
got to move on. On gmfb. What nannies are great. Shout out to
anyone who helps you. You can
make that reference. You raise your kids. Okay, Mary Poppins,
the goat. We’ll be right back.
Being an NFL player demands It’s a miracle. Unbelievable.
Get NFL RedZone now. Get over
here! Dawson. Now! With the stiff arm and the arm. Every
time I see Pacheco and Hunt, I
just think angry runs that segment. This guy, he just
lives angry. Jack off. Thank
you for my six angry run. Suckler. How much love and much
appreciated. Can you think of
the guy’s name that does it? But the angry runs. I always
want to be on that. He can be
an angry runner. Angry runner, angry runner. That’s what I’m
talking about. Let’s go. Oh,
Kyle Brandt, we just had an angry run candidate. He
actually said, you win that
scepter. Angry run scepter as a running back. You want this?
You want to be on angry runs
and have an angry run. You know, they send you a scepter, send
you a cool shirt. Come and get
it. Boom. You are looking live at Avengers Tower, Manhattan
Island, New York City. Shout
out to Tony Stark, benefactor of the segment We Love you. We
love New York City, and we love
the angry terrace from which we give out our scepter each and
every single week. That’s the
Disney ESPN building right now. We love you, our brothers and
sisters, and we love what we
have in store for you today. You better get moving.
Cameraman Paul, I’m going to
truck you. You’re going to be part of the segment. Look out.
It almost is a knockdown in the
segment. First of all, I like to have a little bit of a
refreshment before I get
started. And I always refresh myself with liquid death. What
is liquid death, you say? What
are you, dumb? It’s delicious. Iced teas and seltzers. The
best in the business. Yeah.
Whoa. Now I’m ready. But we got all kinds of business to do.
Because, you know this. We
usually have the angry Run Street team. Those are the men,
women, children and animals who
go with the official angry run shirt from NJ.com. And they
send us their pictures hyping
the segment. We have a special, special contest this year, and
let’s get into it, because I
got all kinds of friends I need you to meet. First of all,
that’s my man from Buffalo.
That’s Tracy doing a big man’s garbage haul and groceries.
He’s got the Snickers in his
mouth. The can, this one trip. Only one trip. You don’t go
back to the car. One trip only.
Next. Richard a Ravens fan. Richard I absolutely love this
dude. Look at the grimace. Look
at the intensity. Richard uses a walker, but he is still an
angry runner in my book. I love
you, Richard, but this week’s winner comes to us from Orange
County, California. You better
believe it. Look at this crew. Yes, in the yard. This is my
guy Patton, who just trucked
his own sister, Kaya and Jojo, the dog looking on like it’s no
big deal. Look at the little
Mermaid scepter. Ariel’s like, you want thingamabobs? I’ve got
20. These kids are awesome in
the shirt. Their dad sent the picture in. They were our
winners. What does that mean?
This says angry tickets. My guy Patton, the general, I call him
and Kaya and Jojo. They win.
They win a gift card, $100 to homage. Com they are also now
finalists to win the grand
prize, the Super Bowl tickets. You can also win as a member of
the Angry Run Street team. Send
in a picture might actually win you something. Two tickets to
Super Bowl 60. Send us your
angriest photos like this. Crew. Your meanest mugs. You don’t
have to buy or wear an angry t
shirt to qualify, but it will definitely help. Go to homage.
Com to check them out. Each
week a winner will be selected by me that individual wins $100
gift card, and they also become
eligible for the grand prize. Three nights in a hotel and two
tickets to Super Bowl 60. Just
scan the QR code or text angry runs to 635635 for your chance
to win. Oh. This segment is
just getting so big. It’s an empire. I’m going to go back
over to my liquid death. This
is the blueberry buzzsaw subtlety. Not one of the
calling cards of liquid death,
but that’s why we like them. However, let’s go to last
week’s winner. It’s been a big
couple of weeks for the green Bay Packers. Remember back in
week two when Jordan Love was
going absolutely nuts against the commanders? Roll the video
on love Roll video. He decides
right here. Oh enough of this. No sidelines boom. Absolutely
incredible. He made a decision
and it was a decision for violence. And this is cheese
and pretzels. He turned a
commander into a pretzel. We send him the scepter. Does he
get it? He’s a franchise
quarterback. He’s got all kinds of other things to do. Does he
get it? Does he like it? Roll
the videotape. You just want to say thank you, man. Shout out
to you for, you know, giving me
the angry run scepter. A lot of people tell me I need to be
sliding. Get down. But you know
what? And this makes it all worth it. Jordan. It’s all love.
It really is. We got a smile.
We got a scepter. And now the Packers will look to get back
on track. Life comes at you
fast. And the angry runs wild. Week two. Week three. Week four.
Who knows? But we have to get
to this week’s entrance. We are finally here. The week three
entrance. And I have to say the
commanders. I hear you from your fans. It’s been a tough
couple of weeks. You are
showing up as the Washington generals of this segment. You
are the tomato can. It’s been a
rough couple of weeks on the receiving end of many runs. You
know what I’m going to do? I
start today on the blunt force trauma and give me Jeremy
McNichols. Get in there on
McNichols Jeremy McNichols against the Raiders saying, I
got us, fam. Get on my back.
Jaden is out. Our commander is actually
through all the Raiders. This
is King Jeremy. Kid. Jeremy ran over five Raiders today. You
know what I like about Jeremy
McNichols? He is on his 12th team in eight years. This is a
practice squad guy. He’s been
all around the league and I feel like he just became an
official member of the Raiders
by running over half their team. Welcome to the commanders,
Jeremy McNichols. You could win
this thing, but let’s get to another one. I have always
loved this dude. Bring up the
picture of this next entrance into angry runs. I love Javonte
Williams. Now this is from back
in the day when he was with Denver. All business holding
this thing like the sacred
scepter that it is all business here. You want to see what he
did for Dallas against the
Chicago Bears? Roll it. Go to Soldier Field, Lakeside, where
Javonte tried to knock some
bears into like, oh wait. Oh, get him down, Javonte. And then
the Stepover. This is what I do
for a living. This is what I love. And you’re going to say
to me, oh yeah, great. It’s a
two yard gain. I cannot tell you how little I care about
that. It was a two yard game.
It could be a 50 yard loss and I would like it. He goes full
Allen Iverson to run loose.
Stepover. Yes. Oh gosh. Kids don’t do that in your peewee
games. That’s unsportsmanlike.
But if you’re in the middle of the intensity that Javonte
Williams brings, it’s so good.
I don’t care what the score is. I don’t care what the box score
is. I care what the anger is.
And Javonte Williams is a ball of butcher knives every single
time he touches it. But is it
enough? Is it enough? My angry family, because it was about a
week ago on this very program,
the Good Morning football program, Emmy winning that. We
had Colts running back Jonathan
Taylor and I asked him a question about this, and here’s
what he said. When are you
coming to get this thing? Because I would love to send
you another one. How about we
start this week? Does that sound good? How about we start
this week? Get in here. What
happened this week? Oh, nothing. Just another day at the office.
Yes, yes, yes. Jonathan Taylor,
you maniac. Absolutely beautiful. This guy in the
crowd. Oh my God, oh my God.
Some random Colts fan went down to Nashville for the game and
he’s now on WorldStar.
WorldStar! Freeze it right here. Just freeze it. I’m supposed to
be some kind of wordsmith. I’ve
been doing this for eight years. I look at this. No words should
have sent a poet. Absolutely
beautiful. Unfreeze it. Speaking of poet Jamie Erdahl,
this Taylor is definitely in
his reputation era. Are you ready for it? Bum? Boom boom.
Absolutely awesome. He is
dribbling dudes like a basketball. Jonathan Taylor is
going up against professional
tacklers and say, no big deal. They should be playing sweet
Georgia Brown. Indiana a
basketball state. Not in this one. It’s a football state.
Here’s the tackler. Here’s
Taylor. Not a big deal. That’s just what I do for a living.
And then guess what. He goes on
and has another angry run at the touchdown on the goal line.
Roll angry run number two, in
which he says I am getting in no matter what you do. And look
at Taylor. Yes. Right here.
Bring it down. Camera. And he’s down here. He’s down here.
That’s the intensity that I
want. That’s the intensity I look for Jonathan Taylor.
Beautiful. We go now to Los
Angeles. And one story down here in New York to Willie and
all my friends. Guys, Jeremy
McNichols, Javonte Williams, Jonathan Bleepin Taylor. What
say you? Go ahead, Willie. I
just want you to get a breath. Kyle. Man, I’m worried about
you. I want that heart to slow
down a little bit, big fella. I’m going to go with Jonathan
Taylor. He ran the angriest.
Yeah, he looked the most efficient. I’m going with JT.
So I got Jeremy Nichols and
Jonathan Taylor. The only ones that have a TD after their run.
And so it’s between those two.
But because Jonathan Taylor KB had two angry runs in one game
I don’t know bro I got to go
with Jonathan Taylor the coach Jamie what do you got. Well I
mean the second you call out
the Hoosier State and Hoosier shout out one of my favorite
basketball movies ever. Like
that’s some feel good Gene Hackman situation happening. I
got to send the scepter to rip
to Indiana and the beautiful city of Indianapolis and dare I
say, the ownership group, the
sisters that we love on this show. If they could participate
in the Angry Run’s photo, could
we get the Irsay clan in if we send it to Jonathan Taylor? I
love those ladies, Jamie.
They’re sitting there watching the segment right now. Just
taking notes. Yes. Furious,
incredible, meticulous notes like Hermione Granger in Runes
class. An incredible thing,
guys. Indiana is having a moment. The Colts are three and
oh, the Pacers were in the
finals. Caitlin Clark, Pat McAfee, WWE. And after an off
season in which they lost Mr.
Irsay and Norm Dale, I am thrilled to tell you that the
scepter is going to the Hoosier
State. Jonathan Bleep and Taylor, you are back. The Colts
are undefeated. You got the
scepter. This thing’s going where it belongs Indianapolis.
Now come on down with me. Let’s
close the show. Oh, no. Cameraman Paul. This thing’s
going Indianapolis angry runs.
Boom! See you next week. Welcome to Cinnamon Toast
Crunch training camp. I’m
Amanra Saint Brown with my boy, celebrate moments presented by
Bud Light. Three rushing scores
today for J.T. Touchdown. Chargers. Benz. Bag of tricks,
baby! Touchdown! Touchdown,
bears! Bryce Young takes it in the touchdown. Goes away. It’s
blocked. It’s blocked!
Touchdown! Game over. Have you ever seen anything like this?
The more I see the Aaron Glenn
celebration, the more uncomfortable it makes me.
Honestly, just like, let’s
let’s let’s leave it on the wayside now that we know the
Jets have lost. Right? I mean,
I love ag, but, like, that’s a tough look. Why was it
Zacchaeus celebration on there?
Like we had Zacchaeus when he falls down? Oh, yeah. Celebrate
like that. Should have been on
there, guys. That was the best one of all. I like the Luther
Burden one. Kyle in Chicago. I
love that one too. And I love that the young kids are
learning about Earth, wind and
fire now because of Aaron Glenn. If you haven’t seen the music
laid over his celebration, I
think it originated from ESPN. It is awesome. September. That
month too. It is. Do you
remember? Harbor freight tools supportive adult education
centers near you. Time for good
hands. Play of the week presented by Allstate. Mayfield
takes a snap on second down,
looks long for Ebuka, and he makes the catch at the 50 yard
line with one hand. Incredible
play by the rookie. Biggest play of the day for the Bucs is
a 30 yard catch for the rookie.
And and he sold it well. He didn’t put his one hand up
until the last second and
caught it behind Sauce Gardner. Yeah that was good. Hands play
there. But one guy we know who
could use some good hands from some of his receivers last
night and avoid some of those
sacks. Lamar Jackson he was sacked seven times against the
Lions last hour. We asked you
who was the last team to get to Lamar seven times in one game.
Surprisingly, it’s actually
happened two other times. If you guessed a divisional
opponent, let me tell you,
you’re on the right track. This is what we asked you on X for
trivia time. The answer is a
team known for their defense the Steelers. They got to
Jackson seven times. We take
you back to week 13 and 2021. Three guys tallying the sacks.
T.J. Watt had three and a half
sacks. Chris Wormley with two and a half. Then friend of the
show Cam Heyward. Cherry on top,
adding one. Also, Steelers won the game 2219 for extra credit.
You can guess the other team.
It was the 2018 wild card game against the Chargers. So Lamar
having to scramble a lot in the
past. Also last night a little sore. But as we talked about it,
maybe this is who the Ravens
are. They were one and two. Now as we head into week four. Now
coming up Jordan Davis made one
of the most incredible plays that scoop and score we saw
right here. We’re going to
caption this play and some other incredible ones from week
three. Don’t go anywhere. I’m
not him. I’m not Jack. Because it next? Welcome. This is good
morning football. I am Kyle
Brandt and welcome to the end of my career. I’ve done over
2000 shows here at Good Morning
Football and none of those shows have we done what we’re
about to do now, which is take
live callers on the air live here on NFL network. We’ve
always been a show who wants to
include the fans. We want to hear your voices. And now we’re
literally going to do that. And
before we take this first call, I assure you these are not
plants. They are not actors.
You’re not going to recognize Manti Te’o’s voice. It’s
nothing like that. And I think
once you hear these callers, you’re going to understand very
quickly that they are authentic,
real NFL fans. And with that, with a nod to the 90s phone,
the 80s phone and the
Commissioner Gordon, phone over my shoulder, we now go to the
phones to Massachusetts, our
very first caller. And good morning. Football history is
Virgil. I hope he’s named after
the old 80s wrestler. Virgil, you’re on the air. Talk to me.
No way. Is this Kyle Brandt for
real? Is this Virgil for real? It is. Wow. Yo, for for 22,
2018, Massachusetts, East
Hampton. I’ve been watching this show. I can’t believe that.
Not only you, Nate K and
Schrader, but you guys are still going on strong. Awesome.
Thank you, thank you Virgil.
Thank you. Virgil. We have a lot of people who want to get
on the air. I love your
enthusiasm. Do you have any thoughts? Maybe on the game
last night? Lions. Ravens live
TV. Let it rip, Virgil. All right, the Ravens first thing.
Derrick Henry, they already
know you’re the most powerful, strongest back in the NFL. They
found your Achilles heel.
They’re not trying to tackle you. They just want to punch
the ball out. You got to be
aware of them punching the ball out. That’s all it is. And
Lamar seven seven sacks I’ve
seen I didn’t even know you high school or college game
until I went to YouTube. And
you you can’t escape them. Clean feeling for your mother
is going to go crazy. She’s
going to, like, go nuts. Virgil. Sorry. I’ll take it. I love you,
my man. I wish you luck. We had
a lot of things there. We had Peter Schrader reference. We
had almost an f bomb emergency,
but he kept it clean and we had a cool, coherent take on the
Ravens. The Ravens played the
Chiefs next week in Arrowhead. If you don’t think the defense
is going to be ripping the ball
from Derrick Henry, every single chance they get, that is
three games in a row. Guys, we
have a successful caller. Thanks for joining us. We’ll
see. You know we got more I
just want to remind before we get the next caller. Thank you
Virgil. Virgil is still on.
Thank you Virgil I appreciate you. Before we get to the next
caller, I just want to point
out last segment that Tom Pelissero, one of the faces of
this media group, a very
erudite newsman, referred to our callers in this segment as,
quote, random weirdos. I take
that Virgil call Pelissero. That was that was an Emmy
winner. And it’s only going to
get better. Let’s go to Florida, the state of Florida. It’s a
wide open net. Christian,
you’re on the air. Talk to me, Christian. I want to wish all
of you a good morning. Good
morning to NFL network. You Kyle. Absolutely amazing rest
of the Gmfb team I’m a huge
Patriots fan from Tampa Florida. I’m hoping to do a good enough
job like Virgil did that the
segment sticks around. I want to shout out my dad, him and I
love your Angry Run segment.
Jonathan Taylor looked good this morning when you were
showing him off. I think that
grit, though, from Javonte Williams should have gotten it
because he that run I know was
only two yards, but that power he showed against the bears,
they’re crazy. All right. So
let me let me shed a little light here. Hold on a second,
Christian. Hold on a second,
Christian. Hold on, hold on. I’ve worked in radio for a long
time before I did this. There’s
a time honored tradition with callers and radio in which they
do a rope a dope, in which they
call and they want to say something and they want to talk
about the Patriots, but then
they wait on hold and they change their take and they’re
like, no, no, no, no, this is
much better. So Christian, I love you. I love your dad.
What’s your dad’s name?
Christian. What’s your take on the Patriots? My dad’s name is
also Christian, funnily enough.
And my take on the Patriots awesome is that we’re finally
exciting again. Why aren’t we
playing one of the most exciting players on our team in
Treveyon Henderson? It’s a
great question and I know every Pats fan is saying the same
thing they’re saying. I thought
Drake was going to be a little bit better. And why did we get
Henderson? He’s electric. Let’s
let him go. It’s a great question for Mike Vrabel too.
You are sitting there at one
and two. You have the Panthers this week. You have lightning
in a bottle in the backfield.
Christian I feel you. And if you’re not going oh we even got
videotape. This is television
not radio. All right. So you get a little taste of Henderson
against the Raiders. But it’s
time. It’s time to take the training wheels off. It’s time
to take the diapers off,
whatever it is. Because you know what he’s doing in these
clips, Christian. He’s not
fumbling the ball. So basically, you can pull someone out of
Foxboro High School who doesn’t
fumble the ball. And it will be an improvement over the
Patriots last week. Christian,
as far as I’m concerned, this segment is going great. Take
that haters. Guess what? We’re
staying in Florida next. And I’m always intrigued by a
gentleman named Bruce. Bruce,
you must be of a certain age. There’s no one under 50 years
old named Bruce. Bruce, I’m
going to get personal with you. What do you want to talk about?
And what is your age? How old
are you, Bruce? Good morning. Kyle Brandt, 67 years young
from Long Island. I knew it,
bringing it every day, like you guys. Bruce, I love you. You
got you got to talk cowboys now.
Right now, buddy. They just got hammered against Soldier Field.
Do your Bruce thing and let me
let it rip. You got it? You got it. I grew up on Long Island,
New York. I saw bullet Bob
Hayes catch a 90 yard bomb from Don Meredith. That’s my team.
Grew up on Long Island. Took
all the crap from Giants and Jets fans. But if we can get
rid of Jerry Jones as a GM,
we’d be all right. They should have beat the Eagles. We did
come back against the Giants.
Even with all our stupid play, we should have beat Chicago.
They played better, but Dak
threw a couple picks. We lost a couple of CD. If we again like
you September now is our
preseason. It’s going to be better. Wait. October. November
electron shot I like humanity.
We got a running game again. Surprise, surprise. We got John
Pickens. We have the defense
once we get our act together. But I want to see your take on
it. I love that Cleveland beat
green Bay, which is good for the league. The Rams should
beat the Eagles. Everybody’s
beatable. And it’s only week four coming up. Strap on you
fasten your seat belts Kyle I
love what you do. I like when you pump Seth Rollins with your
fake injury with diehard
wrestling fans. You go. Great. Call Rackham. That was that was
coherent. It was insightful. He
broke down the league. He was passionate, albeit delusional
about the Cowboys. You almost
lost me when you started your call with. We just got to get
rid of Jerry Jones, GM Bruce.
That’s not going to happen, my friend. You know it, I know it.
Listen, there’s a lot of people
in this country who would like to get rid of a lot of leaders.
It’s not going to happen. Okay?
Bruce, I love you. Rackham. Great call. I wish we could
give you a gift card or
something, but we can’t. However, we calls. Let’s get
hot now. Here we go. Let’s go
to Ronnie. Ronnie, you must have a lot to say, because that
was really a disaster last week.
You’re on the air, Ronnie. Go! Oh, man. First of all, Kyle,
much respect to you. How you
doing? Love your show. Love Angry Birds. Love you. Jamie.
Erdahl. Angry birds can’t get
it out fast enough. Man. Where to start? The offensive line.
My God, how much longer can Joe
Burrow take this? What are the Bengals doing? I mean, I have a
lot of questions, man. What are
they doing in the front office? Is it is it the staff? Is it
the development of players?
We’ve had this issue with the Bengals before, you know, not
wanting to pay players. They’re
notorious not wanting to pay players. And then when they do
they’re overpaying for guys
Orlando Brown Jr excuse me. And you know not wanting to pay
players like Jessie Bates.
Jessie Bates Johnathan Joseph. You know we had that issue with
not wanting to pay those guys.
I mean I’m just Kyle I’m lost. I’m lost here with the Bengals.
I have no idea what’s going on
here. Ronnie, I hear you, I hear you. And more than that, I
feel you. I really feel we
could just undo the box score of what Ronnie just did. We had
an Orlando Brown Jr referenced.
He referenced our segment we do here, Angry Birds, where I go
up on the roof and I take the
birds and a slingshot, and I fire them at these green pigs.
It’s a wonderful segment,
Ronnie, I love you. And I really feel like you must be
lost right now because even
after the burrow injury, there was, oh, this Jake Browning
maybe. Okay. And you said, what
are we spending our money on? You’re spending a lot of money.
You’re spending money on wide
receivers and quarterbacks. None of them block. So it’s you
only have so much pizza if
you’re the Bengals. And you gave about three quarters of it
to two wideouts in a running
back. So you know this, Ronnie, the plan was I guess we’re just
going to score 40 points a game.
And then lightning strikes in this play. And I hate seeing
this video. But Ronnie I have
to tell you good call. You’re passionate. You know what?
You’re nervous. So am I, Ronnie.
I think I’m the most nervous person in this segment, but I
got to go. I got to get to Seth.
Let’s hang up on Ronnie. It was great. If this is Seth Rollins,
I’m going to be highly amused.
There’s not a ton of Seth’s, but we found one in Arizona. He
likes the Chargers, and he has
a question about Justin Herbert. Seth hit a home run for me. Hey,
Kyle Brandt, how’s it going?
It’s good, man. It’s always the first rule of radio. As a
caller, you want to make sure
to say, how are you doing? How’s it going? It’s we set the
table with that, and then we
get to the take. Seth, I cannot wait to hear it. Where are you
going with this? All right, I
just want to let you guys know Justin Herbert has been a top
five quarterback since his
inception in the league. Okay. Inception. Okay. There’s some
people who don’t feel that way.
Seth, I dare be I to challenge your take, but once you start
with the Lamar’s and the Josh’s
and all that, Herbert is not a top five guy. And particularly
when you saw him in the
playoffs for all those interceptions, what say you to
that, dare I ask? All right. So
I just want to start off saying Brandon Staley set his career
back with his play calling and
defensive scheming, giving up defensive points and as well as
the playoffs showed our
weakness, our interior online, our offensive weapons and lack
thereof. And we had plenty of
drop passes. So it’s not all on Herbert, man. Seth, I’m a fan
of yours. I respect you. Any
fan who uses the phrase interior o line. They like ball,
they like to talk ball and we
like that kind of person. Listen, I don’t know if you’re
keeping track in this segment.
And thank you, Seth. We have had no potty mouth. We’ve had
not a single baba booey. We’ve
had none of that. This thing is going swimmingly. I thought
this could be one and done. We
might actually be able to do this again. I’m being told I
have to rap, but I could sit
here and do a three hour radio show if I have callers this
good shout out to to my guy
Bruce. I love you, Bruce. I love you Seth. I love you
Ronnie. I love all of them. I
would like to hear from some of the ladies next time we do this.
If the NFL media Group allows
us. But guys, that’s it on the line. I’m alive. We did it.
We’ll see you next time. Got to
pay some bills. Let’s go to commercial right after this.
We’re talking cowboys, cowboys
and more cowboys. It’s fake Time Wednesdays on Nickelodeon
and streaming next day on
Paramount Plus. Time for a wake up call presented by Verizon.
That’s right. Eagles defensive
tackle Jordan Davis, the big man who became svelte over the
summer, and rightfully so
because it led to this moment. He gave Philly a wake up call
with his game sealing blocked
field goal Sunday against the Rams. Here’s my future
teammates in Ireland. But
before they went to Dublin, Joe Davis and Greg Olsen had the
call on the game. From 44.
Joshua Cardy has it blocked again. This time Jordan Davis
the big man looks for the icing
on one big cake. Eagles hang on I’m not sure what’s more
impressive. His ability to get
in there and block the kick or how fast he just ran with the
ball. That was incredible
moment there by Jordan Davis. That was one of many incredible
moments, because the Eagles
came back from a 19 point deficit in the third quarter to
win that game at home, 33 to 26.
And that gets us into snap judgment. Grab your whiteboards,
gentlemen, and write a caption
for the following photos. Because after our live
television caller segment, now
we’re just going to go to the written word. Okay, let’s take
a look at this photo of Jordan
Davis. And I want you to write your caption and explain
yourself. Manti, you’ve been
waiting patiently with yours written already, so I’m going
to have you go first. Guys,
remember those days when you played Capture the Flag? Yeah,
the best caption would be when
you caught the other team’s flag. Do you remember? You
caught the flag and you had to
run back to your base, and all your homies was hiding out on
the side, was trying to escort
you back to your side. That would be my caption for this.
Jordan Davis return of a field
goal block would. When you caught the other team’s flag.
Hashtag capture the flag.
Capture the flag. Really? Yeah. For me, I watching the big
fella rumble. You can work up
an appetite. So I’m pretty sure during the middle of that run,
he was probably like, I need a
cheesesteak. Oh, yeah. Nice. Do you want to see what I wrote?
Willie, this is this is
incredible synergy here in New York. Jersey Mike’s is closing
in two minutes. Go go go. We
can get there. Go get it, man. You earned it. Incredible. Run!
Don’t offend the beautiful
people. The main line by saying that they go to Jersey Mike’s.
They probably go to some local
Tony shop. And then that’s where they got to get their
cheesesteak. All right, moving
on to picture number two. We’re going to look at the bears
right now. And Caleb Williams
and Tom Brady greeting each other with Tom Rinaldi lurking
in the back. There’s the pre
handshake hug Aaron Andrews we see you as well. Everyone’s
looking great Manti. You go
first. It’d just be Rinaldi with a colon saying Tom Tom
that’s what I would put at that
caption. Tom be careful what you got Willie. I got nothing
right now. I’m just going to
say like Tom, Tom Rinaldi looks like, man, this smells like
success in one picture. Yeah.
Tom’s got a great shot. That looks good. Yes. All I can see
is Rinaldi in this picture. It
looks beautiful, but I’ll go to the main two. This is an
obvious one for me. The goat
meets Tom Brady and they get to shake hands. There it is. The
goat meets Tom Brady. Caleb,
you’re going to do great things, my friend. As long as you play
the 2025 Cowboys for your
entire career it’s going to be amazing. Great. Go get them. Oh
my gosh. All right Willie you
got. What are you ready now or you want to pass again. No I
don’t know what to do Kyle I
thought you did great. I thought you did fantastic. Yes.
We’re good. Yes, I know I
didn’t show the board. I apologize, people hate me.
That’s all right. No, it’s all
good. You felt like Tom Rinaldi in that photo. Honestly, in
that moment, you’re like, oh,
I’m caught in the middle of something. Snap judgment,
everybody. It’s two photos. Tom,
capture the flag. Let’s play it on Gmfb. Maybe we’ll do that
next to finish out our Tuesday.
It’s been a fun hour, everybody. Let’s get to the final segment
of the show. We’ll be right
back. Let’s get more fun. Keep calling the spills, the mess,
the stains. How do you get them
out? Hi Adam J here for the start a conversation with your
family and plan together for
emergencies. Mama, we did it! Mama, I’m bringing it home. It
ain’t a thing I do now. Cause
I’m deep in my zone. I’m goin. Trevor drop looking fires
toward the goal line. But he
caught for the touchdown. Great job by Trevor. Justin Jefferson
touchdown! Touchdown!
Unbelievable. An incredible performance by Jayden Daniels
Herbert takes a shot downfield.
Touchdown. And Justin with a textbook throw. Mahomes looking
left. Pass caught at the five
yard line. Touchdown. If you came all this way to lose it
why’d you come this far. That’s
right. The international series begins. Get ready for an early
morning matchup on the Emerald
Isle this Sunday. The 2025 International Series kicks off
in Dublin with Justin Jefferson
and the Vikings against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. Just
listen to those Celtic tunes,
is that right? 9:30 a.m. eastern only on NFL network,
and you can stream it on NFL
plus. Guys, the show is going to end here in about 2.5
minutes. I will be headed to
LAX, connect through Minnesota and on my way to Dublin to have
the show be based in Dublin for
a couple of days. I know you’re going to go to New York to sit
with Kyle. Kyle Gmfb is going
to be live from Dublin over the next couple of days, which is
really great. And joining, I
will be joining there. I got to stop saying they’re going to
join me because that’s not how
this works. Joe Davis and Greg Olsen, Fox’s second crew. But
they always deliver an A plus
performance. And I cannot believe actually in my lifetime
of being a Vikings fan and
Minnesota Vikings oftentimes playing on Fox stations growing
up, that I get to work across
the sideline from Pam Oliver this week, she will be on the
Pittsburgh Steelers sideline. I
will be on the Vikings sideline. But with that double reporter
situation today, when I get to
LAX, I got to get into my little corner pocket by my gate,
pop my zoom open because Aaron
Rodgers production meeting happening today. So we got to
talk to Rodgers today. Thank
you very much Rodgers. Today we got to talk to Chaoke. And then
I get to talk to the other
Rodgers Isaiah on Friday when I get to Dublin. So it’s going to
be a cool week. But
specifically I can’t wait for the show to get to Dublin and
experience all that. The
international law for the NFL delivers, right, Kyle? Good
memories for the show
internationally, yes. But Jamie, respectfully, you’re burying
the lead here. What’s your
scouting report on Irish food? What are we doing there? What
are you going to get into? Open
minded as always. But also, you know me well enough to know
that while I respect and
appreciate the food, and I mostly will sit down and try
most things, I’m going for the
dark flavored water that’s there and or the dark colored
water, if you will. I’ve never
actually in all of my beer drinking days. Classy. I know
I’ve actually never had a
Guinness, which I assume is just like drinking red wine in
Italy, drinking a Guinness in
Ireland. It’s going to be great. I can’t wait. So I’m kind of
burying the lead with what I
will probably be doing live on television tomorrow. So. Well,
Jane, before you do all of that,
when you go to LAX, Sherry has a gift that you have to take
out of your bag or keep it in
before you go to your Lucky Charms. It’s it’s a long flight,
so I know you like candy. I’m
not sure how long it is, but we want to make sure you are
forever long. You know what set
up for the long flight? Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
One for me and one for my
seatmate, who I will definitely be talking to. And that 12 to
13 hour flight. Right. Like,
can I interest you in a gummy bear, my friend? No. Like, why
are you are you going there for
work or for pleasure? Oh, you’re going to ask me? Jamie.
Don’t give him gummy bear. Give
him some earplugs, okay? He’ll thank you for it, I promise.
All right. Great job. Great. If
your grandpa wears one of these

As a Lions and Cornhusker fan, I appreciate the shout-out to the legends. Everything about that play was so awesome. Even Goff with the vertical handoff to give ARSB the perfect angle for the pitch. Magnificent.

  5. Loions dont have a good o line ravens just have a horrible defense 😂 lions o line will get exposed soon we seen how the packers did them.

  6. I wonder if McVay was watching and thinking, Yeah, I gave the lions all those high draft picks and put a cherry on top by throwing in a future HOFer in Goff.
