It’s finally here. It’s Ryder Cup week and we’re joined by Team USA vice captain Brandt Snedeker talking course setup, pairings strategies, controlling nerves and hearing first tee stories from Brandt’s Ryder Cup playing days. Before Brandt, we discuss Bryson and Rory getting spicy with each other and a former European player saying crowds are too wild for wives and girlfriends to even attend.

That’s still going to be up to you if it’s distance you’re after. The Equinox EV offers 319 miles of EPA estimated electric range with frontwheel drive. And this show offers a great interview with Brandt Sneder, who’s the vice captain for Team USA. He’s the captain of the President’s Cup team next year. Uh, and uh, it’s go time. We got some spicy comments between a couple of the big dogs. It’s uh it’s the week, gentlemen. It’s the week. It’s a huge huge week. We get into it all. Uh if you if you have heard, we’re having a show at Bellis on Wednesday night. We’ll have our you know, we’re going to be getting there with our Chevys. So Chevy will be taking us to Bellis. We’re going to Bellis. Big show. Limited tickets are still available. So make sure you check it out. But we we can’t wait to see everyone on Long Island. This is a home game for me. Everyone’s coming to my town. I can’t wait to see you all. And it’s just going to be a great week of celebrating golf, celebrating Long Island, celebrating Bellis. It’s going to be it’s going to be one for the books. Leave the driving to Equinox EV and show up to the course or to Bellis energized with available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology. Equinox EV has this massive 17-in diagonal center screen, the largest of any EV in its class. Chevy is the presenting sponsor of this show, so we appreciate them very much. When it comes to EVs, Equinox EV is the smartest choice you can make. Just give me these singles matches at Beth Page on Sunday in any order. Bryson Dambo vers Rory Maroy. Wow. Scotty verse Rahm. JT vers Hatton. Kentlay vers Lowry. Xander vers Fleetwood. Young vers Straa. Morawa vers Havlin. Burns vers Oberg. Henley vers Rose. English vers Fitzpatrick. Griffin vers Rasmus. And Spawn vers McIntyre. [Music] Four play bar stool sports. It’s officially RDER Cup week. 2025 RDER Cup week. We’ve been talking about it for what feels like two years because we have been talking about it for two years and things are starting to heat up. We got a bunch of administrative stuff to cover as well. Um from Wednesday night to uh a match out at Beth Page Black that I don’t think people know about, but we were able to somehow pull off. We’re going to talk about that a little bit. Um, I want to start uh and just say that I’m about as excited as I’ve ever been for anything since we’ve been doing this show for like nine years. We have Brandt Snedeker on this show who um Sneder is probably one of the quietest guys that’s involved with this entire Ryder Cup team. So people might not know the entire story, but essentially Keegan Bradley making the President’s Cup team last year made Brandt Snedeker end up becoming a vice captain for the President’s Cup team last year, which then made him become a vice captain for the Ryder Cup team this year, which then made him become the captain of the President’s Cup team next year. So Brent Sneder is like as entwined with this entire team as you can be. He’s got great stories playing in the RDER Cup, the first TE with Jim Furick. Um he’s obviously a vice captain. He’s going to have his little pot of players. He’s as, you know, involved as you could be. We go all through bet page and strategy and comparing the Europeans and their stats and what they did on the first hole versus, you know, what is what is our team going to do? How much are we consulting uh statistitians and all that good stuff. So Brandt Strick is on the second half of the show. But gentlemen, we made it. It’s Ryder Cup week. Congratulations. I’m nervous, dude. I’m nervous. Uh we’ve been there’s been such a long leadup to this as you mentioned and now that it’s here it’s like the Super Bowl of golf and we are all very invested into one side of it. Normally when the Super Bowl happens you’re just like oh get together eat some Buffalo chicken dip you know have a couple beers and then go home. This is it’s all on the line and the the closer we get to it and now we’re 2 days 3 days 4 days from it um I’m very nervous but I’m very excited for it. I think it’s going to be the biggest event in golf history. I I almost think there’s no question about that and I just want balls in the air because it’s just going to be pandemonium. But I I mean, we made it. It It’s Rder Cup week and I’m very very very excited for it. Yeah, this is something that we’ve been waiting for for a long time as a group, but obviously here on Long Island, you’ve just been hearing about it. When I went to book out my wedding, this was obviously two years ago. They were like, “Good thing you guys are doing it at this time because one more year after that, we would already have the buildout going for the RDER Cup. Like things would start moving around. You’d start seeing construction coming in. There’d be like a lift here or like a crane here. Things are just going to be all over the place. So that beautiful view of one with the warning sign and everything is you never know what was going to be outside those windows.” So, this has been in in in the plans and in the works for a long time. Um, we met a lot of people in the past few weeks that have been here on the island that have been working on this thing for years just like scoping out where certain tents are going to be and how people are going to flow in and out. It’s an absolute scene. They’re they’re they’re making people drive all the way to Jones Beach and then they’re busting people in from Jones Beach. They’re staying at JFK. They’re driving an hour to get to the golf course. It’s absolute chaos out here on the island, but it’s it’s good. It’s like it’s it’s that it’s that dopamine rush stuff we talk about where it’s like the anticipation of a huge event or anything in your life. Any anticipation, that feeling, right now it’s like reaching its peak. It’s here. It felt like Christmas morning. Going to sleep last night knowing that this week was Ryder Cup week was an amazing anticipation feeling. So, I’ve got the dopamine flying through my ears, flying out of my ears. I saw a guy Bobby Regul Riggs tweeted out this today. He goes, “Just give me these singles matches at Beth Page on Sunday in any order.” And when he just wrote it out, it got me so fired up. Like Bryson Dambo vers Rory Maroy. Wow. Scotty vers Rahm, JT vers Hatton, Kentlay vers Lowry, Xander vers Fleetwood, Young versraka, Morawa vers Havlin, Burns vers Oberg, Henley versse, English verse Fitzpatrick, Griffin vers Rasmus, and Spawn vers McIntyre. Like every single matchup I just said, you can flip-flop any of them. You can have Scotty facing Rory. You can have Rory facing Rob. But at any moment all throughout the day on Sunday, you’re going to have the best possible matchups you can possibly think of in all of golf. That to me is like the fact that that’s happened at Beth Paige. I cannot believe it. I can’t believe it. Those those names, when you go through the names, it really is incredible that you cannot have bad matchups. And boy is there just not a weak link. and on either team, but especially because I’m trying to think of it from Team USA’s vantage point, thinking like, okay, which when when is Frankie going to say one of these names that I’m like, win, win, win. And it’s like you just kept hitting me with like Justin Rose and Hav and you’re just like, oh god, these guys are sick. You can’t pick one winner out of any of these. No. On either team. And I was gonna win Patrick Kentlay or Shane Lowry. You have no idea. That would be that would be an incredible me. I looked this morning on the DraftKings sports book. It’s still the Americans are like minus 140 favorites. So again, we we’ve talked a lot about that. It’s probably because it’s on USA turf, but this thing is even in my eyes. Do you guys mind if I do some investigative journalism on the podcast for people? We were on the grounds and we’re not going to say exactly when we were on the grounds. We have a video coming out Wednesday. We’re going to do Wednesday morning. We’re we did a video at Beth Page Black and you’re going to be able to see when we did this video, how soon, whatever. We don’t have to say exactly when we did it, but like if you use your eyes, you’ll realize like it’s just built out for a Ryder Cup. And then if you watch the other, you know, no there’s a lot of videos going out at Beth Page that are like just that that won’t have what we had in there and it’s unbelievable. But um at the end of the day, we were able to see kind of the grounds and this is kind of like, you know, every journalist always does the they throw the ball in the rough, you know, in the practice rounds before a major. We got to see the rough. Guys, I think that the US strategy, and I don’t know if this is like public information or not, but like I’m pretty sure the US strategy is to cut down the rough a little bit at Beth Page Black, that might be breaking news because when you hear about Beth Paige Black, even when you go on a, you know, if you go on a on a June Sunday and you just sleep in your car and you get out there as a single, you pay you play the People’s Country Club, you’re out there, you miss a fairway at Beth Page, you’re hacking it back out into the fairway, you’re taking a wedge 15, you’re losing your balls if you don’t hit the fairway. I mean, I’m telling you guys right now, and I don’t know if this is a strategic thing or if they’re going to let it grow until the end of the week. It was pretty low. It was pretty low. Like balls were like teed up, right, rigs? It was interesting. So, back in 2016, I believe when it was at Hazeline, the MMO was that the US team hits the ball a mile, doesn’t hit it as straight, they cut the rough down everywhere. They blasted it, the rough was basically a non-issue, and we dominated. Then when we went to Paris in 2018, they did the complete opposite because the Europeans, they they made it incredibly narrow, rough, crazy, crazy long. And if you remember like Bryson and Reed and Phil were just like not being able to finish golf holes because it was so tight and the Euros were just hitting fairways. Um I think going into this year’s a lot of the MMO was more that the the DNA of both teams from golf skill set standpoint was pretty similar. so that they didn’t know if it would be uh as advantageous to do it that way. Again, that is very much the vibe I got, especially off the fairway when we were there. It felt like and and again, there’s plenty of time between when we were there and when this Ryder Cup kicks off. And I imagine we’ll start hearing about it from the players today, tomorrow, whenever their practice rounds begin and they do press conferences. But it did feel like around the greens, if you miss greens, the rough was still pretty Beth Paige roughy, pretty brutal around some of the low points like near the bunkers and whatnot. But off the fairway, there were multiple times where like I felt like there were a couple times where I was able to get like a five iron and hit it up near the green out of the rough by missing the fairway by 10 or 20 yards. And that’s usually on a normal October day at Beth Page Black. Like you said, Frankie, for the last 30 years, I know you go there and you miss those fairways in some of those spots, especially left of like 15, left of 16, like that you would have unplayable shots. And I remember having like a five iron in my hands being like, I think I can hit this pretty good. And I did hit pretty good. And so it’s like that I thought was a little bit of a peak into maybe what their mindset might be from a strategy standpoint. Yeah. And it makes sense, right? Like you do the analytics, you see what’s going to benefit you the most, and you just go after it. You have to go all in. That’s what they did in Rome. you guys talked uh to how they set up the the the golf course u with Mr. Molinari and and they go into every single detail depending on like who’s going to tee off first and what do we want that rough on that side of what their analytics usually does where do we want that rough to to the exact inch of how they usually play. So, it’s an amazing amazing feat what they’re able to accomplish in terms of like course produ um course preparation and all the analytics that go into just playing a golf match cuz all of us that we we play this game all the time like we just go out there and we swing. The fact that they’re like analyzing certain parts of the golf course based off of like heat maps and cold maps and where you usually hit the ball, where they usually hit the ball, we’ll raise the rough there. It’s like a video game. We’re going to put the sliders up here. We’re going to put the sliders down there. It’s amazing. thing we did do. We went rigs vers Frankie Sunday singles at Beth Paige Black. We’ve never done a full true 1v one match. I don’t think we’ve ever done that. I think we’ve played 2v2s forever. We’ve done like 1v one v1s. We’ve done the whole deal. Never have we stepped up to a tea on a fourplay video and been like, “It’s you versus me. Who’s going to win?” Yeah. I was going into the Thunderdome. You know, Frankie got married there. It’s your backyard, Long Island. was coming in as the, you know, behind enemy lines and just trying to get a win in a singles match against Frankie Belli. Uh, hell of a match. Absolutely tight match out there at Beth Paige Black. So, uh, yeah, I think people are going to love that video. That look, you know, we teed off. I mean, we teed off on the first TE with that entire setup behind you is an incredibly intimidating situation. And that first fairway is already the most narrow looking fairway in the world. We were not taking the Rory Maroy line if people saw that video that eventually came out. Um, so the fairway is pretty damn narrow, but it was awesome. It was an insane experience coming back across the road. Um, after you play the short par three 14th hole and you come across the road. Um, all the build out 15 coming all the way home gave me the chills. We all pulled our phones out and we’re doing the full 360 video to try to capture what it’s like to be in there. the build out all up like so 15 T 16 green and the entire par 3 17th hole are all in like one amphitheater type area and so the buildout they did for that 17 the jumbotron on 17 is like the screen at the Dallas Cowboys stadium it is the biggest jumbotron you’ve ever seen in your entire life and the fact that that’s going to be like when you when you go over the road and you’re going to see that so like if you’re the first group out there on Sunday or whatever, one of the first groups, you’re going to cross that road and see this huge screen that’s telling you how everyone is doing behind you and how you have to do now. Like you’re going to need to know where you’re at. And then when you’re on 17, all those guys on 15, 16, like we’re saying, you’re going to see videos of them like they’re going to be right behind you, but you can’t miss it. Like you’ll be able to see it from Steu Finer’s house. That’s how big this screen is. It’s unbelievable. But yeah, you definitely did have you were in the Thunderdome and it was it’s it’s I’m telling you right now the way that it all panned out. It’s one of our best videos of all time. So people are going to have to go watch it. My Instagram my first ever post on Instagram. I went all the way back. Wow. It’s just this in 2012. No way. It looks like the warning sign. It’s not the warning sign, right? And it was May 11th, 2012. I said done with Caden. And I didn’t put a G on there. Done with Cading for the day. Now playing I guess I just didn’t like the G’s on the end. Now playing this bad boy. Done with Catty for the day. Now playing this bad boy. Beth Page Black #arning. 20 likes. Hashtag warning. I love this place so much, man. It it’s it’s it’s amazing. I cannot believe that it’s here. I can’t wait to watch it as as a as a just a viewer of that video cuz like you’re saying, I don’t think you guys have ever done it. I think maybe you did like a Francis U Francis Frankie Rigs like that was sort of a one-on-one maybe when we were in the Dominican or somewhere but it’s never been just a straight up Frankie verse rigs and I for one like am on the edge of my seat and I’m just like I can’t wait. Well, also just two wildly opposite different golf games that the two of us have and it was on full display out there. Trendy, it was it was exactly what you would kind of expect from the strengths and the weaknesses and uh and it was a great match. So, uh so yeah, I I’m excited for people to see it and uh and just showcasing the course, showcasing two of us going headtohead out there. Sunday singles, like Frankie said, that’s coming out Wednesday. And then the final episode of the RER Cup, the Barstow Richer Cup is uh Tuesday. Today, if you’re listening, uh is coming out today. We’ve got a pretty dominant lead team rigs after a couple victories from myself and Dave to kick off Sunday singles and uh and then there’s still what six matches left uh in singles. So, a lot of points left on the table to see who can come out with a win and uh $80,000 that then whichever team wins will need to be wagered um to see if you can potentially increase that wager or or that amount one or go down to zero. So, people need to make sure you watch the RER Cup. The feedback’s been great. People have been loving it. you know, getting everybody from, you know, you got Big Cat and Dave and the Chicklets guys and Lil Sass and it just all the way to us, the golf guys and and everything in between. I made his presence felt big time. Oh, yeah. Cup matches, losing matches, but he he just brings the big moments. There are some big moments out there. It’s funny when you just go through the social media of it. It’s like it’s just Kirk losing his mind out there. He really does bring that energy to that type of uh that type of environment. Yeah. And he uh he tweeted out this weekend that I’m next. So I think that we have a match um you know that we’re that we’re lining up between myself and Kirk Minahan. He did he reached out to me a few weeks ago and was like I would like to play uh in this hater series against you. And I you know I was very careful in my response but I said of course I would love to do it. I said I know there’s obviously some sort of angle here. And then his response was very he was like, “Yeah, like content.” That’s the angle. Yeah. Good call. I saw he tweeted this morning. He always tweets out what shows he’s going to do this week. Kirk does. I saw that the Golf Gambling show is making a return. Are you on that show or no? I don’t think I’m currently on the Golf Gambling show. Okay. I was curious. I wasn’t sure. Yeah. I think during the Internet Invitational dramas um is when Kirk and I kind of stopped being on speaking terms. We, you know, it’s with Kirk. We went from being very good friends to not even really speaking. And I think during that time is when maybe Mut was brought on and replaced me on the golf gambling show. Um, and I have gotten I will tell you this. I believe I’ve gotten no communication about the golf gambling show. So I would assume that I’m not on it anymore. Um, but I I will say that I think we have secured a date and a time. And the way that we are going to do this match against Kirk and myself is I’m going to go into Kirk’s backyard. We are going to invite as many MAF fans and fans in general want to come and we are going to play in front of a crowd and we’re going to see who wins. Dude, so I think we’re going to Boston. He’s a tough opponent in those situations, man. I mean, you see him there in the basketball game and it’s he brings it in those environments. Dude, you are definitely going into the Thunderdome. You got to go into the Thunderdome. I you know, he and I again going back and forth. I kept thinking like part of Kirk’s lure is the the crowd that he brings with him and the minans and the cult following that he has that again sometimes I’m in good favor with that crowd sometimes not but I was thinking if we just put out a video of a one-on-one match and it’s like quiet and you don’t really have that crowd it feels like you’re missing out on the opportunity to have a real true environment. So I told Kirk I was like I’ll come to Boston. I’ll come up to Boston. We’ll do it in the Boston area in the month of October. And so we we’ll figure out those dates, course, all that, and let people know. But the plan is to play in front of a live crowd. And again, I we could have some fans there, too, but I think they’ll be significantly outnumbered and uh, you know, not as loud as the Midapans, I would guess. Wow. That’s going to be great. This is incredible. Absolutely. I mean, it feels like we’re going to have to like come support you in that. I mean, he can’t just let you go out. Can’t just let you go out there and just have nobody on your back, you know, on your bag or on your side. I will be also that would be funny throwing you right into the right right to the walls just alone. The only people the nice part about the hater matches you can usually hear like Brendan with the drone from 200 yards away clapping when I make a putt or something. So, that’s always fun. So, it might get that. Um, but yeah, that’s the latest with Kirk. And then we’ve got um a few more kind of updates is uh merchandise at the Ryder Cup this week. So if you’re going to the RDER Cup, I’ve kind of got this crew neck on. We’ve been wearing the gear over the last couple weeks. A bunch of it was online. We’ve got even a slightly different assortment. There you go. Frankie’s got the hat for in the merchandise tent. I saw Boy Beef was out there promoting it. It was open this last weekend from I think Friday through Sunday. Um and then you know throughout this entire week, if you’re going to the Ryder Cup, make sure you check out our part in the shop. Um, all the stuff came out great. It’s amazing. And, uh, the fact that we kind of have our logo, uh, co-licensed with the Ryder Cup logo is still just really, really cool and something I never thought we’d get. So, we worked very hard with our team, our merchandise team, our apparel team who are the best to kind of whip up cool uh, creations and they’re there. So, make sure people check them out. It’s still crazy that when people take videos in that shop, there’s major major major apparel brands and then just bar stool golf. The fact that we have any real estate in that tent is truly incredible. And I’m not going to, you know, blow each other. We’re not I’m not going to suck myself off here for too long, but it’s like it’s pretty crazy when people we’ve seen a couple videos come because it was open this last weekend. No ticket needed. You could just go in there and get a bunch of stuff, which is an incredible thing that the PJ of America does. And the fact that we’re in there is is just really [ __ ] cool. Yeah. Shout out to our team. Shout out to the PJ of America. They they really get it. I mean, even in the the fact that we have the video coming out on Wednesday, they understand like kind of where we’ve come from and what we’re trying to build and how we need to keep pushing forward and and they give us kind of open r uh you know, you know, open lanes to do whatever we feel like our fans will love and one of that one of those things happens to be our merchandise and like to be able to do it the way that we want. Also, like the hat that Rigs is wearing, like we really went back and forth a bunch of times about can we put the little Beth Page Boy in there and like like where can he go and can you have the logo on it. It’s like they really understand um what we’re trying to get at and what we’re trying to do and like curated to our own feel and our look and they’ve really been amazing. So, you know, can’t thank them enough. The PJ of America, they’ve been amazing. They only do these, you know, they do the PJ Championship and then they do the Ryder Cup and they nail it. They really nail it every time, especially for us. So, been very accommodating and our team again like you like we’ve said a million times has just absolutely crushed this assortment. It crushed on our website and it’s going to be flying off the shelves in in the actual tents there. It’s insane. Yeah. Like like I have all my because think about how many people like I know that are going to the Ryder Cup, right? I’m on Long Island. All my friends are all golfers. Everyone’s going to the Ryder Cup. And like the fact that they’re going to be able to go into the tent and just see like the brand that I’m associated with there with the likes of the Adidas and the Peter Mars and all these huge just like like you see these logos around. You’re like, “Oh my god, I can’t believe Bar Stool Golf’s one of them.” Like you’re saying, Trent, like how is that even possible? You guys are just a brand that like doesn’t hit like good golf shots. Like how the hell do you have an actual apparel brand now at every single major at every single rider? It’s crazy. It’s absolutely crazy. Uh PJ of America has been awesome, man. We’ve had it at a bunch of the ma a bunch of the actual PGA championships. We’ve had gear with them. I remember Oak Hill came out unbelievable with the merchandise a few years ago and they’re doing it again for the Ryder Cup. I want to say they were our first major. I I I could definitely Yeah, I think it was it was a PJ championship where it was like by the way we got merch in the tent at a major and that was a big step for us. Yeah, that Oakill I think it was Oakill with that logo. That logo is phenomenal. Um and so yeah, they’ve been they’ve been really really great. So, make sure you go uh once again check out all of that uh gear. It’s going to be in there. And then speaking of gear as well, uh if you are listening, we are, you know, still working to get merchandise into pro shops. And I went to Wikop Golf Club here in the um in the Arizona area, which is one of the first places to get it in their shop. They said it’s been selling great and it came out phenomenally. I actually bought I snagged one of these hats. We had a bunch of hats, a bunch of stuff. And uh it is bar stoolgolf atbarstalports.com. So if you run a pro shop, if your home course, whatever it might be, reach out. Our green grass operation, we’re calling it Beef’s been great with that, too. Um but we’re trying to, you know, work with more shops to get our logo, your course logo, and put um you know, cool customized stuff in Pro Shop. So people can reach out at uh Bartogolfbarstoports.com. That’s an email address right there. Um okay, we got a couple reminder to you. Bran Staker second half of the show. So be excited to listen to him because all kinds of RDER Cup stuff from one of the vice captains. [Music] College football season is back, which means tailgating, cheering crowds, and the excitement of being in the stands before kickoff. It’s all back. Uh if you ever find yourself at a tailgate, decide to grab tickets last minute, well, guess what? That’s where game time comes in. That’s where they thrive. The Game Time app gives uh the advantage back to you, the fans. It’s the hack for unlocking amazing tickets and experiences in just a few taps. This entire show, basically this entire week is about going to events. The biggest event that we got, the RDER Cup, Game Time is the official ticketing partner at Barcel Sports. If you weren’t going to the event, I’m looking at just a couple days right here in Scottsdale, Arizona in Phoenix. Seattle Seahawks are at the Arizona Cardinals. I see tickets for $41 right here on Game Time. I could just pick those up right now. Game time’s the best. There were some amazing football games this weekend. I don’t know if people were watching the the afternoon slate or the early slate yesterday. There were just some incredible incredible finishes. You can be a part of that. You go on game time, look at tickets, go to a go to a football game near you. Baseball playoffs are right right around the corner. College football’s going on. There’s a ton of events to go to and there’s no better place to get your tickets than uh than our friends at Game Time. Yeah. I mean, I’m looking right now. We got Bryson and Rory, who Bryson and Rory have had an incredible two years back and forth. You couldn’t have more different personalities when it comes to the highest level of the game of golf right now. Bryson, when he does interviews, is asked, you know, about why he’s doing this or that. and he always answers, you know, I really want my legacy to be growing this incredible game and more kids. And Rory’s answer in a lot of these press conferences like, I don’t even want to play tournaments anymore. I just basically want to play the majors and then go be on vacation with my family and go back to London. Um, you’ve got Bryson is out there hyping up the crowd. He’s legit signing stuff as he’s going, he wins, he’s taking the US Open trophy into the crowd, into the bunker. He’s hitting the shot with Johnson Wagner. He’s legitimately raising the roof when he’s walking around. Rory is just locked in. He’s not looking at anybody. He’s not talking to anybody. Couldn’t be more different at Pinehurst at the US Open last year. Bryson gets the better of Rory. Makes the up and down where Rory misses the putts. They are back together in the final group of the Masters tournament this year. Rory gets the better of Bryson. Um Bryson afterwards talks about how Rory wouldn’t even talk to him. Then Rory responds with like, “Yeah, of course I’m not going to be his best mate out there. I’m trying to win the Masters tournament. So, it’s been like this for a few years now. And then here we come where Bryson was asked, I think, to like People magazine or something at the Happy Gilmore 2 event um about, you know, what’s his what’s his approach going to be? And his quote was, “I’ll be chirping in his Rory’s ear this time.” Now, if we go up against each other, I mean, you can be sure of it. Rory was asked about this. Um, and he came back with, I think the only way he gets attention is by mentioning other people. He told the Guardian, “That is basically what I think of that. To get attention, he will mention me or Scotty Sheffller or others.” I I got a couple things. I like the attitude out of Bryson Dashambo. I think that’s I think that’s a good attitude to have. It does make me a little bit nervous that it’s him specifically who is like, I’m going to start chirping people because historically he’s just a bit of an awkward guy and you you would rather have it be like Scotty or JT who is coming out with these quotes and saying I’m going to chirp the [ __ ] out of them because you know that they actually have that fire. I’m I’m we’re 10 years into this thing and I’m still trying to figure out who Bryson Dashambo is and I think he is to a degree as well. So like the the fact that he so confidently came out and was like, “Oh yeah, I’m going to be the guy doing the chirp and I’m gonna trip Rory.” Like, “Okay.” And you know, Rory Rory did something dirty there. He tried to drive a wedge in between Bryson and Scotty, which I did not approve of. He He could have said, “Yeah, he’s going to mention me and that’s going to get all the headlines.” He said, “He’s going to mention me and he’s going to mention Scotty, who’s a guy on his team.” And that was that I like that attitude actually as well, but that felt dirty to me. I it’s just I mean the chippiness going into it is what we all want, right? So I’m not saying I don’t want that. I’m just a little nervous when Bryson Dashambo is the guy who stands up and says I’m going to be the guy who does the chirping out there. Felt a little bit like Rory came from a place of knowledge by saying that too. Like maybe he had he had heard a little bit about what ro you know maybe how Scotty actually feels about Bryson or something. It makes you start to think he opens up doors for you to start to like peek your head in and be like well what did that actually mean? where what’s actually going on behind those closed doors. So, um I did not like that as well. Yeah, Bryson got pe like Bryson tried to get people to stop saying Brooksie to him like like if if that’s going to be our guy leading the chirp campaign. Like he’s historically like not been able to handle chirps. Like I mean he literally recently in a live event, wasn’t he like, “Hey, we got to tone this these chirps.” Like I’m all for the chirping, but we just got to tone it down just a little bit. We got to keep it classy. God, what was the quote? What was the exact quote? walking across the green or after the green. That was so good. [ __ ] He appreciates the banter. Oh, yeah. I appreciate the banter. See, I also don’t like like it’s chirping is a thing, right? Like that’s a thing that people do, but I don’t necessarily like when you lay it out so specifically where you’re like, I’m going to chirp you and there’s going to be a lot of banter out there. That that sounds like an old guy who used to work for Barcel where you’re like, we’re going to we’re going to, you know, we’re going to make some chatter online and we’re going to make sure things are going we’re going to create some some conversation. We’re going to have some organic conversation. Organic conversation. I just if you’re going to talk [ __ ] just talk [ __ ] And like I Yeah, I Bryson makes me nervous in that in that regard. Well, dude, that’s that’s what we always say about like and not to bring it back to the Invitational, but a lot of that drama that was going on about the Invitational was like like who’s gonna be there to chirp each other? And it’s like, well, like you don’t really like plan that that like if you’re planning that that’s like outrageous, right? Like I’m going to show up. And that was always like Kirk’s defense, too. He’s like, I’m I have like nothing planned. I mean, like I’m just going to go there. We’re just going to like scream at each other, I guess. Like if things get heated, if someone crosses me, like no one has like a I’m going to show up and I am going to make fun of him after the first hole and I hope he can’t take it because my my, you know, mathematical ideology about how Rory Mar can handle this type of chirp should favor us. It’s like, what the [ __ ] are you talking about, dude? It be so weird. Like, I I’m I’m with you. Like, what are even the logistics look like behind that? Like, Rory comes off the first green and Bryson’s like, “Nice not birdie, bitch.” Or something. And it’s like, “What?” Like, that just wouldn’t like Rory now could be like, “Oh, like how long did you work on that one for?” Like he like he like you’ve given Rory all the ammo being like, “Good one, Bryson.” Like, have you said for that? The the actual chirping is what Rory did where you say something that makes him go, “Why did he say well done?” Like Bryson’s like he’s holding a dictionary going, “I’m going to chirp you guys.” And look at that says, “I’m going to talk [ __ ] to you.” And that is not how you do it. Rory was like, “I know something in conversations that I’ve had with Scotty about Bryson.” And now Bryson has to think about that. That’s actual tripping. That’s what I mean when I’m I’m nervous about this like this Bryson leading the charge on it. Oh yeah. Now Bryson, he is sitting there going like, “Is that what Scotty really thinks? Does Scotty really think that I just get attention by talking about that? What?” And then you’re now you’re what Rory’s over here, right? He’s smiling ear to ear at like Frier’s head with Shane Lowry and Tier Hatton and these guys just having like the best weekend ever out in the Hamptons and Bryson’s over there in a cocoon of horror because he thinks that his own teammates think he just uses him for attention. So yeah, that I would say right away that backfired. And it is like it is such a Bryson thing to be like I am going to be chirping at this tournament and you’re like well that’s that’s also not true. Like there’s no I don’t know that outside of outside of like bickering about a rules thing or something that like maybe you’re trying to get under somebody’s skin. You don’t actually chirp. Like you don’t you know what I mean? Like there’s a clip when when when Rory and Patrick Reed made those huge long putts at like Hazeline I think that was. They like hugged each other after that. You know, they both jumped around the green and then literally Patrick Reed waited for Rory coming off and they gave each other like a little hug like bro hug thing coming off the green because you’re like that’s actually talking [ __ ] in golf is insane. And that’s that’s like Vinnie in the hater match where he just kept looking at the camera being like I just got to talk more [ __ ] Just got to talk more [ __ ] It’s like no you got to hit better golf shots what you have to do. Like that’s not what do you mean? And that’s the same way in golf. It’s like I think the crowd does all the chirping. You’re not you’re not going to like that would be so weird if Bryson’s actually just chirping Rory during the tournament. It’s just a real bummer that I you know for a fact that Rory and Shane and Tommy and all those guys are just laughing about this and that is the opposite of what you want like that it it had the I don’t know what Bryson was trying to do but it had the opposite effect 100%. 100%. Is he going to throw out Is he going to throw his like you know the the the classic golf chirps like if he outd drives him and be like hey Rory you hear they’re building a new Walmart here on Long Island? Yeah, they’re putting it right here between our two drives. Hit him with eggs. He did. Oh [ __ ] He did it at uh maybe it was whistling where he he did the putter the putter grip on the ground. Like that’s real. That’s stuff I like. Like like when it’s like, “Oh, why didn’t you give me that?” Like give me put That’s why we love that format so much is because when people don’t give putts, that’s a real opportunity to be like, “What the fuck?” But to start the whole week being like, I I am an AI robot and I’m here to chirp is [ __ ] brutal. Having said this and made fun of all of this, I still like it. Like I think said that off the top. I like it. I like that this is where it’s going. I like it’s not just kumbaya. I enjoy the fact that there’s some uh some banter back and forth that seems to be of the organic nature. I enjoy that. Um, and then there’s another uh clip that’s really resurfacing from Rory that kind of kind of got a lot of this going, I think, but it was from the 2023 press conference after team Europe um dismantled the Americans in Rome. Um, and he said, “I’ve said this for the last probably six or seven years to anyone that will listen. I think one of the biggest accomplishments in golf right now is winning an away RDER Cup and that’s what we’re going to do at Beth Page and then pounded his hands on the table.” Again, you got to be contextual here. This is afterwards. They probably had a couple drinks already. They’re all fired up. They’re all hugging each other, doing the Euro hug thing, sitting in the press conference together as a group. Um, but he did say that that’s getting resurfaced quite a bit now. Um, and then Keegan, actually Colt No, asked Keegan Bradley about that. And Keegan was like, I’ll just say that the guys have all seen that clip several times is what he said. Now, we’ve been pretty hard on Bryson here. And, you know, to kind of turn it on to Rory. Isn’t Rory the guy that said he like at one point didn’t care about the RDER Cup? didn’t care. Like what are those quotes? Can we pull those back up if we’re going to start pulling back quotes? Like this guy, this guy Rory Maroy, as much as we love him and that we were celebrating his last year’s victory. When it comes to these weeks, you got to pick a side. It seems like we’re leading a little bit too much on like we liked that his chirping more than Bryson. So, I’m going to bring it back on to team America side. We’re going to say this guy like people don’t forget, man. And like you said, like the RDER Cup was like an exhibition, like [ __ ] little week. Like like now all of a sudden it’s the most impressive thing in golf to win the away RDER Cup. Shut the [ __ ] up. What are we talking about? Can you pull up these quotes, Ryan Rich? Like what the hell did this guy say? Yeah, he um he I mean credit not credit to him because we’re trying not to give credit to him because we’re on team USA. Oh, no credit. But if one if one were to give credit, it’s like he has walked that back so much. So that he was crying at Whistling Straits after his singles match if you remember that. I do remember that. But the original quote got block though. He said, “It’s not that important of an event for me. It’s an exhibition at the end of the day. Obviously, I’ll try my best for the team, but I’m not going to be running around fist bumping is what Rory said.” What are we talking about? That’s insane. Yeah. Now, also like now it’s like cool to be in the RDER Cup, so it’s like of course it’s the most important thing. Come on, man. I know you’re allowed to walk back and and I’m not saying like people you don’t like whatever you say doesn’t mean like that’s exactly who you are. You’re you are allowed to change. So I want to be on that side. I’m not going to like cancel culture freaking Rory Maroy for Let’s do it then. We’ll bring him back next week, but this week No. It’s just It’s just It is funny when you’re like so much on the other, you know what I mean? Like he was to have a quote being like this thing sucks and I’m it’s an exhibition. It doesn’t really matter to me. And then to be like the leader of this is the most important thing in golf is very very funny. That’s like a that’s a eight-year difference. I mean, I don’t even know how much time has gone by. Let me read this quote again because of how ridiculous this quote was. This is in two 2009. Rory Maroy of team Europe in the RDER Cup of he plays for team Europe. He said, “It’s not that important of an event for me. It’s an exhibition at the end of the day. Obviously, I’ll try my best for the team, but I’m not going to be running around fist pumping.” I do love Rory, so it is hard. And I hope he knows if this ever gets back to him, which it doesn’t because he doesn’t give a [ __ ] about this. But you got to we have to pick a side at some point and we bleed red, white, and blue. So like if you’re going to sit here and and try and stir up our guy, we need Bryson Dashambo to go out there and win matches. We can’t have, you know, we can’t have the foot on the, you know, pedal to the metal for Europe and they’re just going to be grinding our gears before balls are in the air. We got to start peppering them. We got to start throwing them on their heels a little bit. Like you don’t care about this event. It’s it’s built into you. It’s in there somewhere deep, Rory. That you genuinely don’t care. It’s in there deep, man. And you know it is he did um his quote said he said I said that in my naivee as a young uh swashbuckling lad is what he said. I now have been a part of the writer cup a lot and what those three quotes couldn’t be farther from the truth is what he said. All right I’ll give it to him. I mean yeah I I I do think that people get swept up and things. He probably like got his ass kicked after that Ryder Cup or whatever and he’s like this thing sucks. like I’d just rather go win. 2009 was a long time ago. It’s a long time ago. He was probably getting his ass kicked. I truly didn’t know. I wouldn’t have known if Rory in 2009 was playing at Ryder Cups or not at that point. Probably not, right? That’s before maybe his first he would have been 20. He had to have cuz he said like I I’m going to play as hard as I can for my team, right? I mean, he had to have been in that Ryder Cup. Whatever that quote was from. Yeah, that was maybe 2008. Was that his first Ryder Cup then? Could have been. 2010 was his first Ryder Cup. So, he was probably going into it. He was like, “Yeah, I’m getting asked all these questions and it’s like, by the way, I don’t give a [ __ ] about this event.” He hadn’t played. I’m going to try. I’m going to try for the team, guys, but I It’s really not that big of a deal for me. All right. He got quoted. He got quoted. It’s all right. But still, Barry. Um, continuing on in terms of quotes, this this quote, um, this is all time. This made me I don’t know if you guys saw this one. I saw this one late. This is from former Team Europe golfer Andrew Coltart, who um he warned that the current roster’s wives and girlfriends, quote, “Might not be a great idea to go out there and they should watch it from a room where it’s safe and secure.” He went on to say, “Now, I know that’s not what they want. They’ll want to be there with their man and their son to give them support, Colt told the son. But it potentially could be an atmosphere they will never ever be used to. And it could be quite upsetting and challenging for them as a player. You deal with these things. But nobody wants their wife or partner to be abused. And there’s no way the crowd control and the stewards are going to be able to stop that. Jesus, what a cool. You got to hide your wives and kids. You know what I mean? Got to hide your wives and kids. along with that Rory interview where he was asked about Bryson, he did allude to what the atmosphere is going to be like and he he just got right up to the edge of where I’ve gotten to where he didn’t say there was going to be a shove or a physical altercation but he got about as close as you can and he referenced back to the last Ryder Cup where you know he himself almost got a brawl into a brawl with Joey Lava and all those guys on that green. I I don’t know about this Andrew Coltart character that seems o pretty like over the line and that would be over the line if people are doing that at the Ryder Cup. But I would say between the fans and the actual participants, even Rory is kind of like preparing for it to be pretty [ __ ] crazy. And Frankie, as a as a New Yorker, what are you expecting? What do you what do you think the crowd is going to be like? Like I they’re getting a lot of hype as like this could be the craziest crowd in sports history. Yeah. I mean, everyone’s hyping that up and and at every single event that’s something like everyone always gets on Philly fans and everyone always gets on like New York fans and it always ends up being like whenever there’s just a a a rockus crowd at like a big event, everyone’s just saying [ __ ] and booing the other team and whatever. I dealt with this when someone threw a fake little snake on the ice during the John Tivera’s return game when he went from to the Toronto Maple Leafs and played his first game back at the Coliseum. Everyone’s like, “How unclassy is that? This guy gave you 10 years of his life and you didn’t put a team around him.” It’s like I don’t know. They threw like a snake on the ice like and then like the next week there’s like people throwing things at the next arena, you It’s like it’s it it doesn’t it there’s no way to know because of ge geographically how this fan base is going to deal with the fact that the biggest event in golf is going to happen here. Like I don’t know that it’d be any different than any other place. I everyone’s going to be super excited and they’re probably going to be booing Europe as much as they possibly can. They’re going to be cheering real hard and they’re going to be probably drunk and they’re going to be going crazy. But like I don’t know that it’s going to be any worse or any different because it’s in New York. You know what I mean? Like I feel like it always gets overhyped a little bit. And then like every single big event there’s always chaos. There’s people fighting in the stands. There’s people getting punched. There’s people getting lit on fire outside of stadiums. It’s like it’s crazy, right? Like it’s just chaos. No matter where you go. Go watch any football game. There’s like a crazy there’s an old man getting punched by like a little teen. And it’s like holy [ __ ] dude. Is this what sports is now? It’s like doesn’t matter. It’s going to be crazy for sure. And I would hope that people have a brain and they’re like not going to they’re not going to like eviscerate the like a player’s wife. Like I mean hopefully people have like manners uh like human decency, right? Like can we all just can we all root for human decency out there? I mean I don’t know. I would hope that we can just be like a civilized organiz like a civilized group of people. Well Frankie too like you were there in Rome on Sunday and everything that had been going on with Patrick Kentlay and the hat stuff and all the stories coming out about wanting to be paid and all that. Like wasn’t that crowd goddamn ruthless? It was ruthless. But like they were just saying like where’s your hat? It’s like, all right. Yeah. I mean, like, it’s get definitely getting under his skin because like you want to win the match and you you hate that the eyes are on you and you just had this huge thing and like you could definitely feel it, but no one was like, “Where’s your wife?” Like, “Holy shit.” Like no one no one was doing that. And like and then JT on that Sunday, he took his hat off and he was tipping he was tipping the no hat to everybody and they were all laughing. They were all like kind of into it. Now, it was like an Italian European crowd, which might be a little bit different than the Americans, but who knows, dude. Uh Brian Harmon said like the guys, the people that were chirping him when he was going to win the Open Championship were worse than they’ve ever been in America. They were like ruthless to him, screaming at him for his height, doing all these like, you know, keeping it short, all these little jokes. And he’s like, “Yeah, I mean, you would never be able to tell where I was if you just if you just dropped me on that fairway. I would never be able to tell you specifically where I was. They were just screaming super mean things to me. Yeah. Right. Right. I don’t know what I don’t know what point I’m trying to make. I I guess I’m just trying to say like doesn’t matter what the [ __ ] event is. If you’re going to get a lot of people together, they’re going to rooe on your team. They’re going to boo the other team. And like Yeah. Hopefully no one pushes goes over the line. I don’t think that the wives and girlfriends and mothers should not go to the event. That’s kind of my final takeaway is like I think hopefully people are going to be like, let’s if it gets to the point where like that they can’t go then like we have a real problem there, right? It’s like a security breach. Like it’s like% like I always I it’s like it should be national news. It should be national news. Like it should be like like that’s chaos. Like if they’re getting like harass and I think he used the word abused like at some point like there’s he said like the marshals won’t be able to handle it. Like that’s like an overtaking. This is insanity. Like what what do we think’s going to happen? First of all, these tickets are like a,000 bucks a pop. Like what kind of you’re not getting too many like psychopaths in there. I mean you have to have a you have to have a decent life if you’re spending a,000 bucks for a golf ticket. almost crazy to put that into people’s heads even be like where they at? Let’s let’s let’s chirp these these wise somebody. Holy [ __ ] match. But I guess I mean I did say I predicted a shove and to even put that in people’s heads might be the wrong thing to do. But it just I just know that it’s the thing for me is there’s almost now this expectation from that we’re putting on the crowd, right? where you’re like almost it’s almost like a bachelor party in Vegas or in Scottsdale where it’s like oh [ __ ] we’re going here so that we really and then one guy gets blackout and he ends up in jail. It’s like oh you pushed it a little bit too far because we all talked about how crazy it was going to be. And that could be a similar thing with crowds I think. Yeah. And I I think Frankie, one of your your overall point I think is that like crowds can just get overgeneralized a lot. And I think that the New York crowd gets that. They could get that heavily. And same with the Philly. I think the Philly crowd’s a great example. And then, you know, yeah, you could pick out one or two examples throughout, you know, history and claim that then like these fans are cra so much crazier and more violent or scary than other fans. But in reality, it’s like go look at like what the Chicago Cubs fans did to Bartman, you know? It’s like there’s just that’s like those are people. We’re supposed to be the nicest people in the world in the Midwest. I mean, Vancouver like lit their city on fire when they didn’t win the Stanley Cup. And then like I’m dealing with Toronto fans being like you guys threw like snakes on the ice. Like dude, one of your goalies was quoted of saying he had to leave Toronto cuz he was getting death threats to his house. Like I mean all like Toronto Maple Leaf fans might be the craziest fans out of all if you’re going to start throwing over generalizations at people. It’s just no matter what fan base you’re on, you’re always going to you’re getting you’re getting hyped up for your [ __ ] team. I don’t know. Like one team’s not worse than So I don’t think that this New York one’s going to be any crazier than people anticipate. It’s just going to be a it’s going to be a fun electric crowd. I saw you tweet about it and I couldn’t I wasn’t on either side of it, thankfully, but I saw you tweet about it and I couldn’t believe it. What a finish. Yeah. I mean, cuz they were down the whole entire game. They had come back, they they kept the Rams at 26 points for the whole entire second half. So, you’re like thinking to yourself, “Oh man, the Eagles are going to come back and win this, but I’m not going to cover the minus three and a half.” So, you’re not really paying attention to the game if you’re if you’re not an Eagles or a Rams fan. And then I was watching Red Zone. You see it pop. You see that that that blocked kick and you’re like, okay, that’s pretty cool. They’re going to win the game. And then he runs it into the end zone and things start to add up in your head. You’re like, I just covered minus three and a half for no reason. Protein just got delicious. [Music] Contextually going into this, um the United States has only won two Ryder Cups since 2008. Um we have lost five of the last seven. We’ve lost eight of the last 11. No RDER Cup in the last 13 years has been closer than five points. Um 2000 uh 2012 was the last year that it was uh close was when the miracle at Madina when team Europe was down four going into Sunday and they came back and won by one point. Uh but it has been over a decade um since we’ve had a close Rder Cup. Again, one that was even closer than five points. Now, we’ve had moments on the Sunday, mid part of the way through Sunday singles where, you know, if the US is down, you see some some red on the board and you start to think, okay, it could be tight. Max Homa had that big putt up and down after taking a unplayable against Matthew Fitzpatrick last year that sort of like extended the RDER Cup for another hour or two because he was able to get the win. But overall, like I said, for the last 12 years or so, we have not had a Ryder Cup be particularly close at any, you know, stretch. uh coming down the stretch and haven’t had one within five points. So, it does feel like this one’s sort of going to be the one with the mix of of the excitement of New York like we talked about. Um some of the chirping going on, some of the high level of play that we’ve seen from European stars and the American stars. Like a lot of times going in, I just saw I saw a few tweets of like the let’s let’s all be reminded that like the RDER Cup is sort of the time for like middle level European players to all of a sudden become the best players in the world for for like three days. And this feels a little different in that like Europe has the stars now too in terms of like look how popular and winning now like Tommy Fleetwood is Victor Havlin Ludvig John Rom Rory Maroy in the year that he’s had like they’ve got power power stars out there so it feels like it all is colliding and I am hoping that we get a very close Ryder Cup down the stretch for the first time in a while. Yeah, I had my eyes on that tie, which would not be good for us because obviously Europe would uh they would what’s the word? Retain the cup. Retain. They would retain the Ryder Cup. I could totally see it happening. I mean, when I go from top to bottom, I can’t pick one specific pairing that would beat another. And that almost tells my brain like tie, you know? I mean, if I just can’t pick a side, I just like there’s a third option which is tie. Um, so I do think it is going to be close. I don’t think it’ll be a tie. I think someone will will squeak it out towards the end. And uh yeah, I’m I’m hoping for it to be close. I I want this for how much hype it’s getting, for how much overgeneralization the the crowd is getting, how how crazy everyone’s going about how big this is going to be, I do hope it delivers. And I think we all can kind of agree on that where regardless of the outcome, and we’re hoping real hard that it’s a USA victory because it would be a disaster if the eur European team beat us at Beth Page. But we just need something to be tight. I want this to come down to meaningful, incredibly dramatic golf shots towards the end. Entering that Thunderdome, that second half of Sunday singles, every shot, every single putt mattering, that final pairing, like everyone standing around that. We need that. Like the RDER Cup needs that, you know, like that’s what this whole thing has been building towards is that final pairing coming down 18. One guy needs to win for his his team. It’s like, holy [ __ ] man. give me something down to the wire. I’m anti- retention, by the way. I I don’t think they should do it that way. I think you got to figure out a way because it’s two years until the next one. Like, I I don’t I I don’t like that Team Europe just keeps the cup because they tied. I think you send Luke Donald out there, you send Keegan Bradley out there, one hole, the captains play each other, do something, you know? How great would that be? How funny would that be? Just no golf for the whole week and then you’re out there with the Ryder Cup on the line. Look, the retention thing is, you know, it doesn’t probably get talked about enough, but um President’s Cup, they play for it. You know, I believe they they have they in God, what was it? It was Tiger against Ernie L’s at one point. They went like three or five playoff holes where they just kept making huge putts to keep the President’s Cup alive. And eventually, like the sun was setting and I think maybe Gary Player and Jack Nicholas were like, “Let’s just call this thing a draw.” And they were like, “Excellent, we’re sharing the cup.” Um, which you could get your own controversy going over, but yeah, it will be, Dude, if you tie and then Europe just is celebrating like they won, that would be devastating. That would be devastating. That’s devastating. I would hate that. America would hate that. Be like a Skins match where like next year’s worth the next one’s worth two Ryder Cups. You know what I mean? It would be great if that was the way I mean that if that was the way that Keegan Bradley got to play on the RDER Cup is like a captain verse captain matchup because we got we went we tied the the regulation. I I hope that doesn’t happen. Um I just hope Team USA wins the whole thing, but we’ll see. Speaking of extra innings or or ties or anything, did you we talked a lot about uh Banana Ball and the Savannah Bananas a couple shows ago. They just came to Yankee Stadium. I know a couple people that went um they sold at Yankee Stadium twice, which is insane. I mean they Joe Tori out there he couldn’t believe what was happening to baseball. There’s a video of the owner of Savannah Banana of Banana Ball the creator talking to Joe Tori and he was like it’s this is amazing at the end he goes they’re not making fun of our game they’re making they’re making our game fun. It was such a great quote because he probably went there being like what is this guys have their shirt how old is Joe Tory now? He’s old man he was old when they were winning World Series. He’s Oh, he’s great. He’s one of the great managers in history. So, anyway, the the game that he was at went to extra innings. It was a tie. And they have a running clock two hours, but if it’s a tie, they have these um things in place. So, like the first I guess extra innings would be it’s a pitcher, an outfielder, and a batter, right? So, you get like it’s one v one, and then there’s a fielder. And if you don’t score a run, so like the guy hits it and he runs, he tries to score. So he can like hit it like the outfielders’s in center field. He can hit it to right field and then like that guy’s got to get all around the bases and that guy’s got to throw it out. So he throws him out at home, right? He hits it to left field. The guy he gets thrown out at the plate. So the next one is pitcher verse batter one v one. So it’s like the whole crowd has been watching this match this baseball game and then it ends up with just a pitcher versus a batter and it’s like that’s the mo and like the batter hits it and the pitcher sprints to go get the ball and he’s got to throw the guy out at home. It’s the best. I love it. So, it got me thinking about like the Keegan thing, right? So, if there’s a tie at the RDER Cup, you’re just sending out Keegan, who has gota like it’s like closest to the pin, him verse Luke Donald the whole entire world’s like watching that one shot. Bro, imagine they throw to commercial. They’re like, “All right, we’re going to come back and Luke Donald and Keegan Bradley are going to tee off on the 18th hole at Beth Page Black to decide the 2025 Rder Cup.” I think the look on Keegan Bradley’s face when you come back from commercial would like motivate America to exist for a thousand more years. Like he would legit be losing his mind and every Scotty Chev will be patting him on the shoulder like you got this. It would be a [ __ ] spectacle, man. Uh yeah, you can’t have ties, dude. We’ve been doing um this kind of reminds me like we’ve been with a couple my my group my golf group out here in Arizona. We’ve had a couple times in the last like two or three weeks we’ve had an odd number for maybe nine holes or something. somebody had to leave or somebody’s going to show up late. And we get a lot of requests for formats. You know, I know Frankie, you do buddies trips, so you probably get a good amount of this, too. But like people send me a ton of emails, DMs of like, hey, we got this amount of people. How what kind of format should we do for our buddies trip or our weekend or whatever. And a big one is if you have an odd number, like you have a guy, some people have like family emergency, whatever. So sometimes people end up with like seven on a buddies trip or something. And dude, we came up with this format where it’s like we have normal, let’s say we have seven of us, we’ll have three teams of two doing normal like 2v2v2 matches and then the seventh player, the odd player, we just pick an over under number for that player for the nine holes and that player just plays their ball against basically and the other people bet on it. So we had like three people take the over, three people take the under and we bet and it is the most electric thing ever. He steps up first and hits first on every hole and everybody is living or dying on every shot. It’s [ __ ] awesome. That’s a great idea. Incredible. It is so great. Fun, dude. It’s great. So, a little uh Yeah, a little tip there. If you ever have odd numbers, do that format. Have one person be the odd man out, play nine holes or 18, whatever, play their own ball, and you just bet an overunder and take a side of it, and everybody’s invested. It’s awesome. That’s great. I love that. Yeah. It’s a good time. It’s a really good time. Um All right, boys. uh Wednesday night. So folks, we uh we have tickets. Make sure you check out the events page. We are joined uh now by uh Brandt Sneder. I don’t know if Brand’s been on the uh show before. I know we’ve hung out before at different events. Um we’ve seen you throughout. You are I think you know you’re kind of you’re the type of player that is my one of my dad’s favorite players. You love the fact he always stepped right in there hit really quickly. The little pop stroke he always say that guy reminds me of Tom Watson the way he just steps in there and hits. So uh been following you for a very long time. You got a great RDER Cup record. You’re the vice captain this year. You’re the uh president’s cup captain next year. FedEx Cup winner. Um 2024 Payne Stewart award winner for character and sportsmanship. So, you’ve been just all over this game for a couple decades now. Um, how uh, you know, how truly surprised were you last year when you were announced as the Payne Stewart Award winner because I believe you didn’t even think you were going to be winning that award. Yeah, it was it was definitely kind of crazy. Um, it was uh I did did not exceed that on my bingo card for a while to say the least, but uh something I kind of always tried to model myself after and tried to really put as a goal, something I’d like to achieve at some point in my career and um you know, my wife and my kids kind of were in on the the surprise and it kind of definitely freaked me out a little bit. Would definitely shock me. there’s some tears involved and um but you know such a huge honor and um you know obviously to be just in the realm of guys who are up for that award um is something that that I I felt truly blessed about and truly honored about just because of it shows that you know everything I’ve tried to do in my career to try to not only play the game the right way, have the right kind of attitude, treat my peers the right way, treat the game the right way, but also to give back to my local community and make a difference in Nashville. feel um to have my peers believe that that I’ve done that worthy enough to to to be mentioned for that award was something super special and something I’ll I’ll truly hold dear and um you know it’s it’s a special moment in my career and something that that I still hold um front of my chest every time I go there and play golf and realize that I’ve got to kind of hold up to this standard that I’ve I’ve set for myself and the standard these guys don’t behind me that are going to be holding this trophy this year and years forward. Well, yeah. I uh I really did. I wanted to bring that up because I think, you know, we in uh we’re technically air quotes media, you know, podcasters, YouTubers, whatever people want to call us. But, you know, everybody could kind of only see for the most part um what’s captured on camera. And, you know, people could do interviews, they could, you know, jump on and and uh partake in some matches on YouTube and get themselves out there a little bit more. But what I think is really incredible about, you know, the Paint Stewart award is, you know, um your peers, colleagues, folks in your um industry, in your sphere have sort of chosen you as someone in all of your interactions and all the things in the way that you carry yourself in ways that may not be portrayed in the media all the time. you know, you were you were picked as a Payne Stewart Award recipient. And I just think that’s incredibly important to highlight, especially right now with everything going on. There’s a lot of negativity in the world, in the news. There’s fear, there’s all that. And just being a really good person with high character and being awarded for that, Brandt, I think that’s incredibly important for people to highlight. Well, I appreciate that and and I echo everything you just said. You know, I feel like uh you know, I never thought I was doing anything special or anything um that was different from anybody else. I just had two parents who would have beat the crap out of me if I didn’t do stuff the right way, treat people the right way. And I had an older brother who always made sure that I kept the head on straight. And then not to mention, I’ve got a great wife and two kids who are always looking to me for making sure that I can, you know, lead the family the right way and be a good role model. So, um, just very honored to have people think that I did a good enough job of that to be worthy that of that goal. And now I’ got to teach my kids those same values and hopefully people who get to know me and and and spend time with me realize that it’s not a fake thing. It’s not a front thing. It’s just who I am and and how I live my life. And um, you know, I feel like the guys that have won that award before me were great role models for me and guys I looked up to and really try to model myself after. Well, I you know, I think um I think you’ve clearly done a great job of that. And I think that to uh kind of segue from that, you know, you’ve also found yourself now in a spot where vice captain last year for the President’s Cup team um going up to Canada, President’s Cup captain in 2026, next year at Madina, and now a vice captain this year for the US RDER Cup team going to Beth Page. So, I I think all of that is sort of in line. there’s a there’s a follow-through line that people could kind of follow of, you know, you respect your leadership, all of that. Um, how I want to start with with last year and becoming a vice captain and there was, you know, Keegan’s been a huge part of sort of your pathway through all of this where last July he’s announced as the Ryder Cup captain. Um, bit of surprise just in terms of the lineage and the way that it worked for several several years. A lot of people excited about it. Pretty much everybody excited about it. Keegan with his history um with Beth Paige, with the Northeast in general, with the RDER Cup and his relationship with the Ryder Cup, but that then he wins the BMW last year. He becomes sort of a a player for not sort of, definitely a player for the President’s Cup team, opens up a spot for the vice captain. You become a vice captain. Now you’re a vice captain this year. What was sort of your um initial reactions, feelings uh once you kind of became a vice captain and entered part of the leadership group of team USA’s sort of President’s Cup and Ryder Cup teams last fall. Yeah, you know, I got to give Keegan all the credit here. You know, if he doesn’t make that team last year, I’m probably not in this position. You know, I think um you know, when he got the captaincy, I I was one of the first guys to reach out to him. I’m just told how excited I was for him. Not because of anything selfishly for me because I know what the Rder Cup means to him and I know what he’s gone through in his career and to have that kind of a moment of people thinking that you’re worthy of this and you’re going to do a good job of it. I really felt like he was the right guy for the job at the right time. And so I was just so excited for him. And then to fast forward um when he asked me to be a vice captain before the President’s Cup thing came around, I was all in. and I was all in to just to help him kind of have his dream come come true up here in Beth Page to kind of be a guy who can help his message get across to the guys. You know, I think Keegan’s done a great job of of really having a great blend of of vice captains of guys who know the guys on the team, who have relationships with them, who can understand what they’re going through, and also have a veteran guy like Jim to help them through all the all the stuff you’re going to have to deal with at a Ryder Cup that we, you know, that we as other vice captains who have not done it before don’t have that experience. So Jim’s been unbelievable in that aspect, you know, and so, you know, fast forward to Montreal of being in that team room for the first time as a vice captain, it’s definitely a totally different role. It’s something that, you know, until you’re in there and you understand what your role is and how you’re there to help everybody in that team room, not just the players, but the families and the other captains in the captain, um, it’s it’s a different role and and it’s something that, uh, I’m glad I got that experience in Montreal. I really enjoyed it. It was great to get to know the guys on a on a more personal level to build those relationships and to have fun with those guys and kind of keep them relaxed and enjoying the whole moment. And uh we had a great team, a great team room. Jim did a phenomenal job. And obviously Keegan being the winning point was kind of a really cool moment for everybody there. And then fast forward now to where we are now being announced captain next year um at Madina. You know, this was this this year’s a huge one for us. This Ryder Cup is so important. It’s going to build hopefully tons of positive momentum going forward, you know, and uh not to push off the RER cup, the President’s Cup next year in Madina, but you know, we we’ve been so focused on doing everything we can for these guys, getting them ready for Beth Paige. You know, pretty much 100% of my focus has been on that, helping Katon, you know, bring his vision of what this what he wants it to look like, what’s this going to look like to life. And now that we’re here only a few days away, it’s it’s getting real. this is happening whether we want it to or not. So we we’ve got to get up there and get ready and get these guys excited and you know excited to represent the country to represent everybody in the United States but also to to have fun and enjoy these experiences because they’re they don’t go around very often and when you’re on these teams you really need it’s really hard to take a moment take a breath and enjoy it because it’s so stressful and there’s so much stuff going on. So um that that’s our job you know get those guys ready. So we’re we’re super excited for the challenge. Yeah, I uh I’m very curious about this role as vice captain and once things get going. I mean, this show will air on Tuesday and there’s a lot of buildup and it is only a three-day event, so it’s a whole extra day of buildup compared to a major championship or a usual, you know, 4-day Thursday through Sunday event. Um once it gets going, and again, you’ve been a vice captain last year, the President’s Cup, how intense is it with things are happening so fast, you’re trying to relay information. Does it feel like things are happening crazy fast once it goes from months, hours, days of buildup to like, oh my god, it’s all happening immediately? Yeah, I don’t think it’s it’s not the the matches don’t go by fast uh when you’re in the moment that they feel like they’re kind of going in slow motion when you’re out there with the guys. It’s the in between times and down times that go pretty fast. you know, when you’re having to make pairings on the fly, when you’re having to, you know, come up with the messaging for the team for the night, when you’re having to kind of relay what what we want these guys to take away from the day or to set the message for the next day, those times go by really fast. Feels like you never have enough time to prep. You’re never feel like you have a 30 minutes just to sit down and chill and kind of think of what what what you want to do. Um, but like when the matches are actually going on, you’re out there. You’re kind of in the moment with with whoever you’re walking with and and really trying to help them any way you can and kind of relay what’s going on in the match to the other cap other vice captains and you’re kind of listening to how their matches are going. Get get to get kind of a feel for, you know, how the guys are playing, what’s the energy like, what do we need to do? Uh, do we need to be, you know, more, you know, get them more excited? Do we need to bring them back down a little bit? how do we help their their kind of process and then also trying to relay what we’re seeing to Keegan so then he can make a more informed decision on on how the afternoon might go or the next day might go. Yeah, I can imagine those those in between times come up really really fast. You know, we had u we had Xander on the show uh last show and he was talking about the group text a little bit and he said there might have been some vice captains chirping in there about how they beat a few of the actual players and I was looking at the leaderboard and I was wondering if that might have been somebody that’s on this show right now doing a little chirping based on a solid finish over at the Pro Core. Well, I I I preface it by saying this is the one course I think I might be able to bet a few beat a few of you on because it’s definitely not a bombers paradise. It’s a short tricky golf course in mapup. Um I I might have said a few things. Yeah, that playing time might be based off of how many captains you lose to um those next next Friday through Sunday, but it was all in good fun. Yeah, those guys. The great thing about this team is is we have a bunch of guys who are not afraid to give each other a little bit of crap. And I’m definitely probably in the category of leading a little bit of the needles. U not afraid to throw a few. I can take plenty. I’ve played t plenty of terrible golf where they have plenty of ammo to come back at me. Um, so yeah, no, I I enjoy, you know, I I enjoy hearing about that type of camaraderie. I think that’s important. How important do you think it is in terms of, you know, the team makeup that you have that comfortability among the players, among the captains, among the vice captains, you know, because I think a lot of people look at it as an individual game. Just go out there and hit the golf shots. And then other people that maybe come from team sports would be like, “No, no, you need to have a good locker room. You need to have guys are familiar and comfortable with all the other guys.” How important do you think that is? I think the team room is huge. You know, it’s it’s something we don’t have very often. Obviously, in golf, we only have a couple times or once a year really. Um I I think that aspect is is the one thing that you we have spent the cap the vice captains and Keegan have spent a ton of time on trying to build that team that team bonding that team atmosphere to where these guys can cheer each other on. They can give each other a hard time that everybody knows is coming from a place of love. It’s coming from a place of we want you to be successful. Um, and when you have that, I feel like it takes a little bit of the pressure off in the sense that, you know, the when I played on these teams, you know, the the one thing that always made me feel 10 times more nervous was, man, I really don’t want to let Tiger Woods down. Really don’t want to let Phil Mickelson down. Really don’t want to let Davis Love down. You know, I have these guys on my team. I’m like, man, I I I couldn’t it was so all inspiring me to be with my heroes and have these guys who are icons in the game and then they’re looking to me to keep their momentum going or to do my job and and win a point and man, that was a lot and and it was it was super impactful on me. So, I think the more these guys can get to know each other and and spend time with each other and realize we’re all in this together, um that we got your back no matter what. just go out there and have fun and do what you do. I I think that makes a difference. I I really do. So, we’ve been, you know, we’ve been debating a lot that uh the home team has had such a good record over the last several several Rder Cups. Um what would you attribute that to? Is it more the fact that you do get to sort of impact course set up to a degree? Would you attribute it to how impactful the home crowd is versus being sort of heckled or booed or whatever? What would you sort of attribute that to? I think it’s all the above. You know, it’s a combination of all those things. You know, I think having a home crowd behind you is huge. It’s definitely a, you know, anytime you hit a good shot and the crowd gets behind you and you get a little jolt of adrenaline, you know, I feel like you can ride momentum. Um, I feel like setup’s big, too. You know, I think we saw it perfect example play out in Rome. You know, just the way they set that golf course up was built for those that team, the way their strengths and kind of built away against our we our weaknesses. And so, um, you know, I think having those two things is kind of is going to tip always a little bit of the favor of the own team. I mean, that being said, at the end of the day, you can do all that great stuff. If you don’t hit good golf shots and you don’t make the putts you need to make, it doesn’t matter how you set the golf course up. It doesn’t matter who’s cheering you on or not. Uh, it’s going to go the way the team that plays better. So, um, you know, every home team tries to kind of do whatever they can to kind of keep a little bit of advantage over the other team. At the end of the day, these guys have got to go out and hit breakoff shots and handle the pressure and whichever team does that the best is is going to come out come away with the cup. So, I got you know a question if you’ve got any do you have anything any plans to get your guys going? You know, you mentioned earlier if it’s like you’re watching them play and maybe they need a little bit more energy, maybe they need to chill out a little bit. Do you have like you got a plan going in for what you need to say to this guy, what you might need to say to that guy? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah, we all do. You know, every personality is a little bit different. Um, you got to talk to certain guys different ways. Um, some guys need a hug hug every once in a while. Some guys need a kick in the butt. You know, I think that that’s why you need to understand who who you’re who you’re walking with, their personalities, what what they like to hear, what they don’t like to hear. And and you you do that by spending time with the players, spending time with their their caddies, with their coaches, with their their wives, their spouse, and um, you know, really get to know them. So you you you feel comfortable being able to talk to them in a way that’s going to help them play better. So um I think it’s super important and that’s our role as vice captains for Keegan is to is to and and we often we have a great group of guys who’ve spent a ton of time with these guys who know them and they feel comfortable with they can talk to us and tell us how they’re feeling or what’s going on and they also know we’ve been in their shoes. We we understand that this is not easy, super hard, this will be super stressful. So uh we’re there to help any way we can. Yeah. I uh you know I always wonder how you guys do balance when you’re considering players cath picks who to put out where you know uh experience whether it’s Ryder Cup or President’s Cup or just being in the mix in a major championship down the stretch huge events you know because I do think golf is such a game where how you handle the moment and all of the outside factors you know you call it whatever you want nerve nerves, noise, that feeling of standing over a shot being like, “Okay, I know that if I’m, you know, for you guys, not for me, but I know if I’m usually in in a controlled, comfortable environment, I’ve got a perfect nine iron number that there are very few people in the world that could hit it much closer than I’m going to hit this nine iron. However, I’m standing here right now and based on the entire circumstances, I can’t feel my arms. I can’t feel my legs. My head is spinning and I have to hit this shot.” you know, how how important is it for you guys to factor in when you are making picks, that experience and that uh proven ability when things are not how they usually are to come through and play at the highest level? Well, I mean, I think it’s a factor. I I don’t think we over kind of give it way too much credence. You know, I think the biggest thing you want to pick when you’re picking a team is, you know, our stated goal the whole time was to pick the 12 best golfers, you know, period in the story. you know, that that’s where we’re going with. We’ll deal with everything else later. I think when you start picking a team based off of, oh, well, personality traits or, well, this guy’s played great under this situation and so it might transfer over, you know, I I think you start creating um unforeseen problems maybe down the road. I the biggest thing we try to tried to do is just pick the 12 best golfers we thought were in the world right now and let them go do what they do and and and we’ll we’ll figure it out. You know, I I think it’s really hard, you know, and and you’re going to look back on it. The problem is there’s probably 20 guys in the world on the American side who are the best 20 best golfers in the world. So, you got to leave some guys off this team which are playing great, which was probably the hardest thing to do is to is to look down this list and say, “Man, golly, I wish I wish we could pick 14 guys or wish we could take 15 guys.” But it’s just uh the you know, the problem with having a 12man team. So, you know, at the end of the day, you’re going to leave some guys off that that we know would have helped us or could have played um great golf for us, but at the end of the day, you got to do what you think is the best 12 guys going forward for this golf course and for the tournament we got going forward. So, it’s a tough one. You know, I don’t think we ever really know the secret sauce or or the right sauce to to to how to do this. Um and anybody says they have it figured out, I don’t believe them because there’s just no there’s no right or wrong way to do it. Um, it’s just kind of going with your gut and and trusting that what you’re seeing and what you’re feeling is is accurate and then just giving those guys every possible opportunity in the world to go play great golf. How uh how involved are you, the other captains with uh core strategy with the players? Are there some that you kind of let just feel it out, use their own process? Are you guys out there? you know, uh, obviously there’s a lot that’s gone into course setup to how to manage the course that you guys have a whole, you know, consulting team that’s got the data. Is it sometimes almost too much to, you know, load onto the players all this data or or are they and you guys comfortable with giving them everything? Yeah. You know, I think it’s it’s it’s kind of funny. You know, I I think I’ll give you a perfect example. Uh when Jim did a site vis visit to Montreal last last summer, he he came back and goes, “All right, guys. I see the first hole is going to be like a a three iron or hybrid off the tea and it’s like an eight iron in the green.” And we get there and we’re like, “Jim, that bunker’s 295 yards to cover on the left. Everybody’s hitting driver.” And he’s like, “What?” I’m like, “Dude, they play the game differently than we play it. Like everybody’s going to sit driver down the first hole.” And sure enough, we get there and everybody’s hitting driver off one over that bunker. And so what but when we try to do like core strategy with these guys, oh yeah, they play totally differently than I do. So it’s a complete waste of my time to tell these guys how to play. And so I think at the end of the day, like we give them all the data they want. We tell them kind of how we think the course is g going to play for the week, but like some like you know Bryson and Russell Henley are going to play a golf course two totally different ways. And so, you know, I I think you’re better off to let these guys go out there and kind of figure out their own process and their own thing of how to do it and we just stay back and just watch in awe how they do it because these guys are unbelievable. Yeah, I think that’s probably the right move. Is there any um you know there Yeah. And the game now, God, it’s so Look, the game’s always been great. And I’m always a believer that at every level, um, every every generation, I guess I would say that like the best player, if they were taken at this generation, and given all the training and the nutrition on that, could also still be right up there with the best players. Having said that, it is funny that, you know, Jim Furick and you and like watching you guys play for years and years and how good you are that even this quickly, right? Like when we started doing this podcast 8, nine years ago, you guys were still, you know, you’re the guys. And now it’s not that you’re not the guys, but you’re in more of a leadership role and vice captains and captains. And how quickly that game could change to where Jim Furick can show up and be like, “Oh my god, this is not even close to the way that I thought they would play this first hole.” It’s just funny how quickly the game can evolve. Oh, it’s I mean, it’s evolved a lot the last six years. You know, it’s just totally changed. You know, I joke with people all the time when I first got on tour, my swing speed was the exact same. I might even lost like a mile an hour and I was kind of middle of the pack in driving distance in 2007, my rookie year. And now I’m the shortest guy on tour. And so, so it has changed a lot in the 20 years I’ve been out here. So, and it’s uh it’s great to watch. It’s fun. Like, I marvel at it to watch these guys how hard they can swing a golf club, how much control they have over it. It’s so fun to watch. And um you know, I’m kind of jealous. I wish I I I kind of give give Nick Fo and uh that generation of guys a lot of grief when I see him because I’m like, well, I’m the you’re the reason why I hit it so short. You know, when I grew up, it was all precision. You know, hit it a certain distance. Don’t swing too hard at it. Don’t do this. And now every kid’s growing up, swing as hard as you can, man. Hit as hard as you can. We’ll figure out how to hit it straight later. So, uh it’s been fun to watch these guys how it evolves. And I’m a huge fan of it. You know, I feel like it’s it’s fun to see what these guys can do with a driver in their hand. It’s it’s really impressive how uh so you know, on a normal week again, which is basically 103 out of every 104 weeks or 102 out of every 104 weeks on the cycle, the couple year cycle, you know, it’s it’s individual. You’re playing your own game, but you’re not even playing against the other players. You’re playing against the golf course. And now it is you’re playing against team Europe. So, is there any is there any effort spy operations from you guys to figure out what they’re doing and what their strategies are going to be and what their pairings are going to be or are you mostly just worried about your guys? We’re mostly worried about our guys. You know, I mean, we kind of have an idea of, you know, it’s pretty much the same team. They they tried it out last time. So, we kind of have a idea of what and to be perfectly fair, they had some great matchups and great teams. You you’d be crazy not to play those guys again, you know? So, um we kind of have an idea what they’re going to do. Um, but at the end of the day, like you can’t control, you know, Ryder Cup’s a little bit different than President’s Cup in this aspect. Like you can’t match up teams against each other. You know, we’re putting out a lineup of four teams Friday morning. They’re going to put out their lineup of four teams Friday morning and that they just meld them together. President’s Cup, you can go pick for pick. So President Cup, you can say we’re going to put this team out first. They can match up. They can match up. So it’s totally different. So, in that aspect, it’s it’s, you know, Ryder Cup, you’re not really worried about putting teams up against other teams or whatever it is. You’re putting your lineup out and saying, “Go get them, boys.” So, it’s really not a whole lot of that going on because I feel like that can backfire just as quickly as you as smart as you think, you get it all figured out if you and you make them, you know, they do something different and you feel like an idiot for making a dumb mistake, you know? So, it’s just kind of like, hey, so put our four best teams out there, let them go and go do what you do. Absolutely. I think that’s probably the only the best way to approach it. you are right where it’s like they pretty much got the same team. It it worked out for them in Rome. It’d be surprising if they deviated much from the path that got them to that point. So, you probably have a pretty good idea of what you’re going to be up against. Um, you know, I’ll I’ll kind of finish with asking you, are you are you more uh nervous or more excited for next week? Uh, I’m I’m excited. You know, I think the nerves kind of hit more when we were making the the final picks for the team, you know, because you want to make sure that you get the right guys together and also the, you know, you feel bad for the guys that don’t make the team, you know, and I feel like that was more the nervous part of it for us was just making sure we had the right 12 guys and and we knew we were going to have to make some tough phone calls, some guys that probably deserve to be on the team, but just didn’t didn’t work out. So, uh, I think now it’s just kind of, you know, pure excitement for the guys trying to get up there and make them know that, man, we we we’ve crossed every tea. We’ve dotted every eye. We’re ready for this thing to go. And, um, you know, you guys go have fun and enjoy it. You know, that’s one thing I think these guys we we we really want to get across these guys is how how much fun these things really are. I know it doesn’t feel like it in the moment sometimes because you’re so stressed and and and you want to play right so bad, but like these things are really special. They’re really fun. You know, the whole the whole world’s going to tune in to watch you guys do what you do. And if you’re not going to enjoy this, if you’re not going to have fun doing this, then then why are we doing this? Then why are you playing professional golf? You know, this is if you were a kid when you’re 12 years old, if we told you you’d be playing at Beth Paige Black in the RDER Cup, you would have absolutely given anything in your life to do it and been so excited. So, let’s not forget that. Let’s not forget that. Let’s go out there and have a blast while we’re doing it. I just got the chills when you said that, you know, and I and I It’s funny. Every player we’ve ever had on this show that we’ve asked them, “What’s the most nervous you’ve ever been?” It’s the answer is unequivocally on the first te at the Ryder Cup. And we are just days away from that. So I think I’ve I’ve got a great story about that. Okay. I’m going to throw my my vice captain under the bus. So we get to Madina in 2012. really horrible memory, but um for any American that was there, but uh I just won the FedEx Cup the week before and I’m teeing off I’m supposed to go off first with Jim Furick as my partner Friday morning, first ball on the air and we had played all week. We’re playing Rory Maroy and Graham McDow and we had played all week with me teing off no me doing the odds, Jim doing the evens and we got to breakfast. We get to the golf course about 5:00 a.m. We get there and I look over the first te and the first te’s lit up. Madina, we had a crosswalk over kind of a from the green to the first tea from the clubhouse. And so we pull up in the bus. I get off and go to the first tea and I just see commotion and the first te’s lit up like Christmas. I couldn’t I didn’t understand what it was. We didn’t have flood lights on or anything. So I kind of go up on the bridge to look at the first tea and it’s packed. There’s f, you know, 10,000 people on the stands, not an empty seat in the house. And this is two hours before he even hit a shot. And they lit up the first tea with their cell phone lights. Everybody turn their cell phone lights off and they’re chanting back and forth Europe, you know, USA and Europe, Europe going back and forth. And I I remember walking back inside of the clubhouse thinking I was going to throw up. And I go over to Jim and go, “Jim, there’s no way I can hit that first T- shot, man.” He’s like, “What do you mean?” Have you seen that first te? I mean, you didn’t tell me it was going to be like this. Like, this is different, man. I I can’t do it. And he’s like, “What do you mean you can’t do it? Like, I think I might chunk it or I might miss it. I I don’t know what it’s going to be really bad if you made me hit that first E shot.” He’s like, “All right, all right, all right, all right. I got you. I got you, man. I’ll do it. Just Just chill out, man. We got Okay. All right. So, I felt felt okay.” So, lo and behold, we get up there and I’m breathing. Okay. I’m still about to freak out. And I watching Jim get up there. He’s literally the straightest hitter in the history of the game of golf. And I watch him hit this slow snap hook that might have gone 200 yards. The worst shot I’ve ever seen him hit in my entire life. And he walks over to me and he goes, “See, we all feel the same thing, man. Good lord.” He’s like, “We’re all so nervous. We can’t breathe.” I was like, “H, okay. This is what it’s supposed to be like. Okay, I’m okay now. I didn’t know you were feeling like this.” And so, uh, yep. It happens to everybody. Everybody feels that same way. It’s It was uh It’s a great memory. We end up kind of I end up losing that match. We end up going one and one uh as partners that week. But it’s a great story. I mean to have Jim who’s played in all these teams and literally the one of the guys you’d want with anything on the line to be playing for you to watch him hit a low snap hook like that was hilarious in my opinion. Oh yeah. that and that’s that’s all you need to know about those feelings and and you know watching watching players hit incredible shots in that environment is so amazing to me and I think that story is going to really highlight how impressive it is when people can play really good golf under those types of stresses and in that environment and I can’t believe we’re only you know a few days away from it. Uh, I’m really really excited and I I uh appreciate you, you know, taking the time pulling over to the side of the road to make sure we could get the best connection that we can get. Sorry about that, man. No, I it it takes whatever it takes and you’re the one giving us your time. So, I know you’re a busy guy. I know you guys are gearing up for this thing that’s going to be one of the bigger events we’ve ever seen in the history of golf. So, uh, we’re rooting for you. We’re big USA guys over here. I can’t wait to get up there and see the crowds and see all you guys and see how this team comes together against a very formidable European team. So, um, keep up the great work. Again, you’ve been such a class act throughout, um, your career and time out there in the PJ tour and the spotlight. Um, you’ve had so many incredible triumphs, FedEx Cup, you know, going 42 and 0, I believe, in your history at the Ryder Cup. I think it was 30 and0 um in 2016 and and then kind of culminating with um with these leadership roles and with that Pay Stewart award. So, appreciate you being a good dude out there through all of it. Well, thanks for having me. I apologize. Next time we do this, I’ll have a better connection. Um you you’d think I’d learn in my old age of of how to do one of the interviews the right way, but eventually I’ll get there.

  1. We need a writer cup or similar every year… Maybye before the president's Cup… "stoolepresidente cup" 👌

  2. Kirk could be the most unlikeable person of all time. Ghosting Riggs like a 13 year old and having the attitude of my 5 year old daughter.

  3. Talking about Rory and Bryson’s quotes, then you have that asshat Brandel Chamblee taking shots at Bryson for the way he answered a question this week, basically calling him selfish and not about the Team. We need Americans on America’s side!! Chamblee is a dipsh|t!! Let’s Go USA 🇺🇸
    Well done boys!!

  4. Guys your probably too young but 1999 in Brookline was nasty and David Coltart was playing, he has commented on sky sports what the crowd was like. Mark James's wife got spat on and a lot of other nasty stuff.

  5. Any chance we can get some live interviews of some of the Ryder Cup participants at Borelli’s Restaurant? You know Tommy Fleetwood would be game.

  6. Those comments from mcilroy were 15 years ago and he has very much realized that was incorrect and that’s absolutely not how he feels now 😂

  7. Why did Kirk and Riggs get sideways with each other. I have watched the writer cup so far and don’t remember seeing the origin story of the beef.

  8. Can we get sas out to the course for a foreplay video already ffs ? The banter between him and Francis alone would be worth it.
