FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Washington women’s golf team played nearly two full rounds of golf Monday at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, before a lightning delay paused action midway through the second round.
The Huskies played an entire first round and all but the final four holes of the second at the Ptarmigan Country Club, as they currently sit in fifth place out of 13 teams.
Teams will play the last four holes of the second round before beginning the final 18 holes on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. PT.
Athena Ni led the Huskies on Monday at three-under par, notching a 69 with five birdies and 11 pars. After nearly two full rounds of play, Ni is tied for fifth on the player leaderboard (-4).
Claudia Alnajim, who competed as an individual in her second-ever tournament as a Husky, finished first round play one-under par.
Amber Li has notched two eagles so far through nearly two rounds, with the first coming on the first hole in round one before recording her second on the 16th hole in the second round.
Li recorded four birdies and seven pars on the way to a one-over par performance in the first round.
Mads Smith sits at one-under par (tied for 13th place) after paused second round play, with five birdies in the first round and four so far in the second.
Li is slotted in a tie for 26th place after today (+1).
Carmen Lim is tied for 30th on the leaderboard, Alnajim is tied for 49th (+5), and Wendy Tang is tied for 60th (+7),
