CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI men’s golf team is set for its second tournament of the fall season as they head to Des Moines, Iowa, for the Zach Johnson Invitational, hosted by Drake University.
Play is scheduled for Sept. 22-23 at Glen Oaks Country Club, a par-72 course measuring 6,898 yards. The tournament will be held over two days, with 36 holes played on Monday, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Tee Times have yet to be announced. Northern Iowa will compete against an 8-team field, including North Dakota, Indian Hills, Houston Christian, Western Illinois, South Dakota, Drake, North Dakota State, and Eastern Illinois.
Last Season, UNI placed 10th out of the 14-team field in Des Moines. Cooper Hanson competed as an Individual and placed 68th with a final score of 227 (+14). Tanner Dinnebier finished in a three-way tie for 69th place with a score of 228 (+15). Calen Bishop placed 80th and shot 234 (+21).
The Panther men are coming off a 14th-place finish in their first tournament of the year at the Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas. UNI shot a team score of 920 (+56) and was led by Tanner Dinnebier, who hit a score of 220 (+4), placing in a four-way tie for 16th. Calen Bishop finished in an eight-way tie for 39th place, shooting 227 (+11).
Nile Petersen placed in a three-way tie for 47th with a score of 228 (+12), while Anthony Galvin made his debut, placing 71st, shooting 245 (+29). Drew Spooner finished in 73rd place with a final score of 249 (+33).
