NORMAN – Oklahoma finished third at the 13th annual Schooner Fall Classic on Sunday, highlighted by true freshman Meg Tilma’s record-setting third-place debut and a top-five finish from senior Reagan Chaney.
The Sooners (3, -8) battled tough conditions at Belmar Golf Club as play was halted midway through the final round due to weather. OU has now posted seven straight top-five regular season finishes, the program’s longest streak since the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons when it recorded 10 in a row.
Tilma’s third-place finish in her collegiate debut saw the Wichita, Kan., product set an OU freshman record with her 202 (-8) score. The mark ranks as the second-lowest 54-hole total in program history. Playing unattached from the lineup, she fired rounds of 67-65-70 to finish one shot behind co-medalists Sydney Givens (Georgia) and Gracie McGovern (TCU).
“Meg was obviously really good this weekend,” head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “We knew what type of player she was when she came to OU, along with the rest of our freshman class, and for her to show it this week at a solid golf course was really exciting.”
Chaney (T5, -6) signed for rounds of 66-67-71 to notch her seventh career top-10 and first top-five of the season. Her 14 birdies led the Sooners on the week.
True freshman Ellison Lundquist (T13, -2), also playing unattached, opened with back-to-back 68s before closing with a 72 in her collegiate debut.
Earn Thiengsri (T17, -1), OU’s lone freshman in the lineup, recorded a top-20 finish with rounds of 68-69-72.
Savannah Barber (T21, E) closed with a 69 to log her 39th career par-or-better round, a mark that ranks top five in program history.
Gracie Mayo (T35, +3) and Isabelle Schlick (T44, +5) rounded out the OU lineup, while Raychel Nelke (T61, +8) and Audrey Rischer (T65, +10) competed unattached.
No. 22 Oklahoma State won the event at 18-under, with No. 25 TCU second at 11-under. The Sooners placed third ahead of Iowa State (-6) and UCF (-5).
“I’m really proud of our performance this weekend,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “We had bright spots from everyone, and we still have room to grow. We rallied at the end to finish third and I thought our team’s toughness was good throughout the tournament.”
Oklahoma continues its fall slate Oct. 6-7 when it hosts the OU Intercollegiate presented by PDI at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. The venue, ranked as the 25th-best course in the country by Golf Digest in 2025-26, has hosted three U.S. Women’s Amateurs and an NCAA men’s championship but will welcome a women’s collegiate field for the first time.
