RUTLAND, Vt.- The Norwich Men’s Golf team took second place in their second tournament of the weekend in the two-day Vermont State Castleton Invitational.
It was yet another high finish for two-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golfer of the Week Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.), who rode a stellar day one performance to first place, where he made birdie three times to a +1 score on Saturday, finishing the tournament +6, five strokes clear of second place.
First-year JD Mahoney (Ellicott City, Md.) also had an impressive performance on the second day. Mahoney made birdie on three holes, and made eagle on the par four 16th hole to finish in eighth place.
Norwich Leaders
Norwich will now head to Keene State on Sept. 25 to compete in the Keene State Invitational.
