Earlier this week, Kenny Dillingham, coach at ASU, was asked if Sam Levit gets up for games against teams with other highly thought of quarterbacks. Here’s what Kenny said. Yeah, I mean, he’s going to compete versus everything. He doesn’t like to fail. Uh, so he wants to be the very best he can be every single game. Uh, you know, sometimes you just got to take a deep breath and realize you get to play college football at an awesome place and you’re living out your dream. And, uh, I think he did that this week. I don’t know, Gambo. the guy who’s just going to draw motivation from the NA kicker in week one. The guy who draws motivation from other quarterbacks that people think are better than him that he’s got up on a whiteboard in his apartment or wherever it is that he lives. Something tells me that the amount of ink and the amount of pub that Soya Robertson has gotten this week is going to act as motivation for Sam Levit. It’s because Soya Robertson is getting some love. And conversely, Sam Levit hasn’t got a ton of love so far this season. I’m just printing out this story on CBS Sports and I’m like sliding it under his dorm room door. That’s what I’m doing anonymously in the middle of the night. I’m just dressing up and it’s something people can’t see me. Sam Sam Lev is number nine on the NIL list in college football. I don’t think he’s living in a dorm. I’m I’m just I’m just guessing. I don’t not living in a dorm. I don’t think at $3 million this year. Like that college experience. Sam Lev is living in a dorm. But you don’t think it’s like pulling the beds apart so there’s a little extra room between him and the roommate? I could be wrong. I don’t think some of those dorms are nice, man. I don’t think Sam Levit’s sharing a bathroom with another guy in a dorm. My my daughter had a when she went to Lyola on a full scholarship for soccer, she had a corner room overlooking the lake with like like it was it was I had a very nice dorm room at Kronite. I will say you walked in there was a little living room. You had our own private bathroom and then me and my roommate had our own separate bedrooms with closing doors in that room. I’m sure some of the dorms are lovely. I’m sure they are. I’m sure Sam Love is also not in them. Yeah, Sam’s renting a 5,500 square foot mountain view. Yes. Infinity edge pool. He’s probably renting that. My bad. I’m guessing so. Uh my Okay. So, what I would do is I would hop the gated community that he’s living in. There you go. There you go. There you go. Dodge the security cuz you can run a 4640 and outrun security in the neighborhood. And then Did you see the person on Twitter did the math breakdown for us of how quick that is? What is it? What is it? I saw something on you on YouTube. On YouTube, somebody said I didn’t see Twitter, but I saw YouTube. His eight on the treadmill is like running a five.0 40 yard dash. So, somebody did a 440 yard dash would be going 20.45 on the treadmill. You were going a 1636. That’s not true. That’s not true. That can’t be true. The math doesn’t add up. His math. A guy on Twitter said it’s a 5-second 40-yard dash. 8.0 on the treadmill is a 5-second 40. There’s only one way to find out. Let’s go mark it off in the parking lot. Let’s go have gambo run. JJ puts when we need him. Let’s do it. All right. So, let me get back to my story. Yes, please do. Um, the 12 most disappointing players in college football so far. Uh DJ Lagway, Arch Manning, Cade Clubnik from Clemson, Sellers quarterback from South Carolina, Proctor, the offensive tackle from Bama, Jeremiah Love from Notre Dame, they got the quarterback from UCLA. Uh and all of a sudden, there it is. Sam Levit, Sam Levitt is listed as one of the 12 most disappointing players in college football this season. I’ll read it to you. Levit was expected to build on his breakout 24 season, but so far has struggled to find that same spark. He’s completing 58% of his pass for an average of 176 yards per game with five touchdowns and three poor interceptions. He’s consistently targeted Jordan Tyson and used his legs effectively, but the Sunundevil schedule toughened significantly and he needs to rediscover his 2024 form to keep Arizona State in the Big 12 pitcher. He’s listed on this CBS Sports story and you’re going to slide under the door of his expensive condo wherever he lives. 12 most disappointing players in Are you surprised? Are you surprised that he’s on this list? Cuz I’m not. Probably not. I’m not surprised he’s on this list. Probably. And you know why I’m not? That first half against Mississippi State and honestly that whole game I actually know it by heart. Five for 15 for 31 yards. Yeah, that’s why. Why do I know that by heart? Heisman candidates don’t do that. No, they don’t. And and when they do do that, they cease to become Heisman candidates. Now, it hasn’t ended like that for Sam yet, but I mean, you you get notched way down the list when you do stuff like that. I I’m sorry. That’s just kind of I don’t make the rules. I’m just telling that’s kind of how it goes, you know, like when you have performances like that, people are going to go, “Yeah, it’s now he can earn it back. There’s still plenty of time for him to earn it back.” But I tell you, this Soy Robertson kid, now to go to flip side of the coin, let’s flip it. Uh, it was a gambling story that I was reading on the Athletic, but nevertheless, how you doing? Well, how you doing? Shackles down. Looking for content, you know, just finding stuff. I’m not going to go lay any shackles on this game. I I have no no feel for this game at all. Um, but somebody does. And on the athletic, they were making oddly specific predictions for week four in college football. Light it up, Ernsy. Sawyer Robertson lights up ASU. That was the oddly specific prediction to this game. He’s number two in the country in passing yards. Yeah. Um it says that um the defending Big 12 champs rate a ranked ASU ranks 83rd at defending the pass through their first three games and they have to face Sawyer Robertson who is averaging 357 passing yards per game and that they think Roberts that his passing yards will cover that the Bears will cover that that the Sam Sawyer Robertson lights up ASU this weekend in their words again. Wow. motivation for ASU. If Sam Levit’s the kind of guy who responds to that, and I think Sam Levit is the kind of guy who responds to that, let’s see how we see where this Mounty Navaro guy went to school. Maybe he went to Baylor or all this stuff about lighting up ASU. I Well, and then and then to be fair, I saw a similar gambling story on ESPN and they said, “No, man. The bet to make is ASU plus 2.5 bet on ASU because of but not because of Sam because of how bad Baylor’s run defense is and how good ASU’s rush offense has been so far. Okay. Like Baylor’s run defense is terrible. So I they’re one of the worst in the country so far. So the feeling is ASU can run the ball successfully. Again, that doesn’t have anything to do with Sam. Well, I mean I guess Sam’s ability to run, but it really, you know, it’s not about Sam Levit, the Heisman candidate quarterback that’s going to lead ASU to the win. I thought there was a significant occurrence in the game last week and that was the ability to get Shaman Matea involved in the offense. So, a lot of screens, but let’s get that kid some touches. I thought that was a big that was something big that came out of that game last week, especially with Jaylen Moss not available this week. That’s going to be a good player. He’s a good football player. Thanks for watching Burns and Gambo. Click to see more from the guys and hit the button in the middle to subscribe so you never miss a video from Arizona Sports.
