2025 Invitational Recap; Swings, Scholarships & Shenanigans

information submitted by Sherry Fisk; Horse Race Winners (above l to r): Linda Reister, Kenzie Young, Barb Rayburn, Ann Strand

The ladies came out swinging at the 2025 Invitational, and the competition was almost as fierce as the late-summer sun! Luckily, sunscreen, laughter, and a few cold beverages kept everyone in fine form.

This yearly invitational is about more than just birdies and bogeys—it’s also about giving back. Thanks to this event, our club has awarded $28,000 in scholarships to Chelan and Manson high school girls in sports over the past three years, including $7,500 just last year. Now that’s what we call a winning streak!

The competition format was a two-person scramble, which means twice the fun and double the excuses. (“It wasn’t my drive, it was hers!”)

Extra Fun on the Course

Because what’s golf without a few bonus bragging rights?

Accuracy Drive went to Karen Jackson, who kept it straight when it mattered most.
KP (Closest to the Pin): Linda Reister (13’4”), Teresa Bitseff (13’5”), and Cathy Jones (9’11”) all proved that close counts in golf—at least when prizes are involved!
Honey Pot, Hole #11: Tracy Franklin drained it to 19’ for 1st, Jenn Braybrook slid into 2nd at 22’2”, and Becky Potterff rounded it out with 29’5”. Sweet shots all around!

Horse Race Mayhem

After lunch and raffle prizes (where $1,300 was raised for scholarships—thank you, ladies and generous local businesses!), it was time for the always unpredictable Horse Race. Teams fell like dominoes until the final four duked it out on Hole 9. In the end, Linda Reister & Ann Strand galloped to victory, with Barb Rayburn & Kenzie Young taking second place honors.

All in all, the day was packed with great swings, great friends, and just enough friendly competition to keep things exciting. Congratulations to all our winners and participants—you made the 2025 Invitational one for the books!
