The first 18 holes in the 2025 Wyoming High School Golf State Championships are done. Players faced different challenges on the three courses. Some navigated those very well, while others didn’t handle it like they wanted to. The first-round results for all three classifications are listed below. There are individual and team standings through Friday’s action on the links.

Class 2A

Tazlyn Wagner of Kemmerer has a 16-shot lead entering the final round in girls’ action. Easton Lewis from Tongue River and Kemmerer’s Trevan Benson are tied at 77. The Thermopolis girls and Sundace boys have the team leads.

2A State Golf Day 1 Leaderboard 2025

Class 3A

Both defending champions have work to do if they want to come out on top again. Addison Bettinger of Buffalo has a two-shot lead after Day 1. Lander’s William Oland has a two-shot advantage in the boys’ division with 18 holes to play.

Girls Team Scores = Wheatland 255, Cody 263, Lander 282, Powell 286, Buffalo 295, Douglas 296, Lovell 333. NTS = Torrington, Pinedale, Worland.

Boys Team Scores = Lander 308, Wheatland 316, Buffalo 330, Torrington 333, Douglas 341, Pinedale 343, Powell 348, Cody 351, Rawlins 382, Lovell 389, Lyman 396, Newcastle 417. NTS = Worland, Glenrock.

3A Girls Day 1 Leaderboard 20253A Boys Day 1 Leaderboard 2025

Class 4A

Madison Brown of Evanston holds a 1-stroke lead entering the final round. The boys’ division features a three-way tie for first between Evanston’s Cade Brady, Laramie’s Carson Moniz, and Bryce Bell from Cheyenne East. Those three are up two shots on the field.

Girls Team scores = Evanston 257, Campbell County 258, Kelly Walsh 261, Sheridan 267, Central 270, Thunder Basin 276, East 277, Riverton 279, Star Valley 294.

Boys Team Scores = Laramie 292, Campbell County 294, Thunder Basin 305, East & Kelly Walsh 306, Natrona County 314, Evanston 323, Sheridan 330, Star Valley 344.

4A Girls Day 1 Leaderboard 20254A Boys Day 1 Leaderboard 2025

The final round is on Saturday in Douglas, Cody, and Cheyenne, respectively. Class 2A and 4A start at 9 a.m., and 3A begins at 10 a.m.
