East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s women’s golf team plays its second event of the 2025-26 season when the Spartans tee off in the Canadian Collegiate Invitational starting on Sunday, Sept. 21 at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament starts with 18 holes on Sunday, followed by rounds on Monday, Sept. 22 and the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 23. This inaugural event is being hosted by Kent State University and Michigan.

The Spartans tee off at 9 a.m., playing alongside Auburn and Virginia.

ABOUT THE SPARTANS

Paced by a ninth-place finish from junior Ana Sofia Murcia, Michigan State’s women’s golf team finished in fifth place among 12 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate at American Dunes Golf Club on Sept. 10 … The Spartans shot an 11-over par 299 on Wednesday and completed the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 29-over par 893 (303-291-299) … Murcia led the Spartans from start to finish and closed with a 3-over par 75 on Wednesday to tie for ninth place at 3-over par 219 (73-71-75) … She finished the tournament ranked third in the field in average par-3 score (2.83), tied for ninth in average par-5 score (4.83) and was tied for seventh in the field with 38 pars over 54 holes … She was one of two MSU players to finish among the top-20 overall, as senior Paula Balanzategui posted the best team round of the day with a 1-under par 71 and tied for 16th place at 8-over par 224 (79-74-71) … Balanzategui was one of five players in the field to record an eagle during the three rounds, doing so in the second round on the par-5, 495-yard sixth hole, and was tied for seventh in the field with nine birdies … Senior Taylor Kehoe tied for 26th place at 10-over par 226 (80-72-74), closing with a 2-over par 74 in the third round. Kehoe finished the week with 34 pars in 54 holes, tied for 22nd in the field.
