Like the title reads. I’m not a terrible golfer(84-95) averages, but a couple guys I play with are amazing. Consistently getting 300 off the tee in the middle, super crispy iron shots, never a 3 putt. They are a blast to play with and having fun makes it worth it but sometimes i get a little salty, won’t lie 🤣 how do you guys rank up against the play group?

  1. The three of us suck equally. The one who has the least seizures wins, usually mid-high 80’s…

I’m a 5, and everyone else in my group is a beginner who celebrates double bogies.

We have a great time, they like to see what they can aspire to, and we all shoot the shit at each other equally so it’s lighthearted fun all the way around.

  3. I would be ecstatic if I could score in the 80s on the regular

  4. I play with my fellow Greenkeepers who are 20+ handicappers it’s all about the good shots which we all get. Makes the game great when you’re all cheering each other on.

I can’t speak from experience since I’m worse than you and also have no golf friends, but… maybe just look forward to the exciting moments where you hit a better shot than one of them or beat them on a hole. Let those moments carry you and don’t be concerned with beating them on the scorecard.

  6. I only have 1 friend who plays and is a 32 hcp, i teached him how to play and he celebrates esch bogey or good shot like its the best thing ever happened to him, its really fun to see it and give him tips

  7. I’m like a 20 handicap and most of the people I play with are between 15 and 25 so it’s pretty balanced!

I have a couple of groups. The clown group where a couple of us shoot around the 80 mark but the other two are bad and another where everyone is between a 2 and 8.8 (which is me). They shoot mid 70s and I shoot 80-85.

The best in my group is probably me at like 106 🫣

As long as you stay positive and maintain a good pace of play, you could shoot 100 and be great to play with

I’m the worst in my friend group also and I am a 7.0 index… been chasing my buddies for years.

They will make you play better.

    I’m at 10, I’m playing with a 2 and +1 tomorrow

Should be good. Should be a good 10-15 behind

  13. Am I the only one noticing that Player 2 took an 8 on 10 and still shot 70?

No shame in being the worst player in that group.

Shout out to the guy who fired a 1-under back nine with a triple bogey on the card. Respect.

  15. I promise, as a former college player who plays with my scratch best friend, we 100% appreciate you more than you know.

  16. deeeeemoney

I hope you let him have it for getting par on the 18 handicap hole, ruining his chance at a 5 birdie finish.

I’m usually the better of my friends (5.9hdcp) but I really don’t care what skill level any of my friends are, as long as they’re fun to play with. I have one friend I’ve been bringing out with his goal of breaking 90 over the summer and basically being his caddy, telling him what to hit and where to aim, reads on putts. It’s actually been some of my favourite golf this summer. Closest we’ve got is a 92 (he rarely if ever broke 100 before we started this)

  18. Hahahaha at my current skill level, I would be about a 122 for 18 holes!

  19. pinchevato57

I shoot 90-120. I’m not embarrassed. It’s all about having fun, getting out there, and putting down some beers.

Is that your handwriting though? Because that’s really good handwriting for a golf scorecard

As the better friend in the group. I can tell you, we don’t care who’s better or worse. We enjoy the time together and the game. Never stop showing up! ✌🏼 88 is good score and you’re not as far off from your buddies as you think.
