The Ellwood City boys golf team wrapped up an impressive regular season with two victories this week and earned an outright section title for a second consecutive season.
The Wolverines finish the season 15-1 (11-1 Class 2A, Section 5) and will turn their focus to individual and team playoffs next week.
On Tuesday the boys recorded a team course record at Delmar Golf Course and bested Laurel 183-197.
Jaxon Rozanski fired a team-low round of 35 for Ellwood City. Jordan Keller and brother Cam were also apart of a host of Wolverines who shot sub-40. The Keller brothers each shot even par 36 while Nate Kennedy and Gino Biondi finished with rounds of 38 in the victory. Eli Bintrim shot a match-low round, three-under-33 to pace the Spartans.
The team round of 183 ties the lowest team score ever by EC with the 1996 team that recorded a 183 at Fox Run Golf Course. Ellwood City Boys Golf started in 1964.
On Wednesday, the boys golf team defeated Wilmington 149-156 at Tanglewood Golf Course to wrap up its regular season.
Jordan Keller posted a team-low round of 34 to lead the Wolverines. Kennedy (38) and Rozanski (36) each earned sub-40 rounds while Biondi and Adam Jeffcoat finished with rounds of 41 for Ellwood City.
