Houses to golf course: YEIDA plans township in Sector 22F Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is planning to develop a Golf City in Sector 22F. The township project near Buddh International Circuit will combine residential, commercial, and recreational spaces centred around a world-class golf course. “Our aim is to create a hub that attracts tourists, promotes sports and provides quality green spaces to residents and visitors,” OSD Shailendra Bhatia said. The initiative is part of YEIDA’s Master Plan 2041, which emphasises on green and recreational infrastructure. Around 15% of the total urbanisable area under the plan, nearly 5,544 hectares, has been reserved for green development. Within this, about 1,002 hectares have been earmarked specifically for recreational facilities, making leisure hubs a central part of the city’s growth strategy.Officials said Golf City will be one of the first major projects under this plan, and the Authority has recently appointed Ernst & Young (EY) to undertake a feasibility study and prepare a detailed project report. Sector 22F is also proposed to have landscaped parks, playgrounds, multipurpose open spaces, and picnic areas under the recreational green category. Larger facilities, such as stadiums, training centres, indoor arenas, museums and biodiversity parks, will also be developed. The sector will also have food courts, multipurpose halls, hostels, kiosks, pro-shops and recreational clubs. Officials said Olympic City and an Olympic Village have been proposed in nearby sectors. While the Olympic City will be designed with large stadiums, training centres, and sports complexes, the Olympic Village will provide housing and support facilities for athletes and sports professionals.
