My driver has been terrible lately.. I'm pretty sure it all stems from an over the top move and not swinging "out" at the ball.

In the first video I was hitting great. I hit 3 or 4 straight where I was aiming on the range. Then proceeded to go play 18 and snap hooked probably 75% of drives.

Second video is me today at the range working on this OTT and swinging 50% just focusing on swinging "out" at it. Ball flights were definitely better, more of an in to out draw. But anytime I tried increasing speed it was right back to pull hooks.

Is the second clip the right direction? Just need to keep working at this feel at 50% and slowly increase my speed over time? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Your upright setup at address is the main culprit, often making you lift and push the club outside on the downswing. Try a bit more forward tilt, so your spine leans toward the ball and the club moves on a smoother inside path. Yes-the second clip shows the right direction: practicing at a slower pace helps you feel the correct path and get better ball flight. Your tempo looks a bit slow, so aim for a smooth, balanced rhythm rather than stopping and starting. If speed comes back and hooks creep in, we can tweak the path to keep you connected through impact.

Imo you’re not rotating enough. Your hips are already closed on your downswing which is bringing the club inside out. May be that you’re not fully committing to the swing in which case you really need to focus on having your path on a straight line 1 foot behind the ball through a foot in front of the ball. Otherwise, you need to get those hips open in the back swing who can will being the club more inside out.

Doesn’t really look as bad as you make it sound. Try to shoot it to right field.
