OOLTEWAH, Tenn. — Wrapping up The Invitational at The Honors Course, the Pepperdine men’s golf players Mahanth Chirravuri and Willy Walsh finished in the top 10 on Tuesday.
Chirravuri tied for fifth with a three-round score of a 4-under 212. In his best showing of the fall, Walsh tied for eighth with a three-round score of a 2-under 214. The Waves were one of four teams to have two players in the top 10 (the others were champion Ole Miss, Auburn and Virginia).
As a team, Pepperdine had the round of the day with a 2-under 286, which was the only round below par on Tuesday. The Waves placed sixth out of 12 teams, moving up one spot from Monday’s first two rounds. The Waves finished with a 4-over 868, which was just four strokes behind fifth-place Oklahoma.
Ole Miss won with a 10-under 854, led by medalist Cameron Tankersley’s 6-under 210, who won in a playoff over Auburn’s Josiah Gilbert.
PLAYER SCORES
Fellow senior Mahanth Chirravuri tied for fifth with a three-round score of 212 (70-69-73) (-4). In the hunt for the entirety of the final round, Chirravuri finished with three birdies in his final round.
Junior Willy Walsh tied for eighth with a three-round total of 214 (72-73-69) (-2). His 3-under 69 final round featured four birdies on the back nine, which helped him break into the top 10.
Sophomore Luke Bailey tied for 28th with a three-round total of 221 (73-79-69). In his best round of the fall so far, Bailey had three birdies in his final round, plus an eagle on the 17th hole to record a 3-under 69 final round.
Freshman Luke Dariotis tied for 43rd with a three-round total of 224 (74-75-75).
Senior Brady Siravo finished in 47th with a three-round total of 225 (71-79-75).
Competing as an individual, junior Carson Kim tied for 64th with a three-round total of 237 (76-80-81).
