MOREHEAD, Ky. —

 The Morehead State men’s golf team began their regular season Sunday and finished up Tuesday, finishing 14th at the JT Poston Invitational. 

The 15-team event, played over the 6,500-yard, par 71 Waynesville Inn and Golf Club course finished up Tuesday afternoon with Southern Mississippi coming out victorious. 

The Eagles started off tied for 12th after day one. Junior Remy Stalcup was tied for 20th, shooting even at 70 and leading the Eagles. He had an eagle on hole 6, as well as three birdies. Senior Logan Liles followed not far behind, tied for 32nd at one-over par 71. Liles buried four birdies throughout the day.

The Eagles dropped slightly, but had a strong day two, tied for 13th. Stalcup continued to lead the team – this time tied for 17th, shooting even after five birdies. Liles had a stellar day, also tying Stalcup for 17th, shooting a one-under-par 69 after four birdies of his own. 

However, the Eagles dropped down to 14th after a tough day three. Sophomore Seamus Bogan led the Eagles on day three at +3, finishing with three birdies on the day.

Stalcup led the team overall, finishing +7 for the three days, with scores of 70-70-77–217. Liles carded a 71-69-78–218, and Bogan concluded 74-71-73–218. Senior Logan McCormick (74-71-78–223) and redshirt junior Colten Wilson (78-76-79–233) also competed.

The Eagles are back in action in the Colonel Shootout at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday and Sunday.
